Turning into a different pony? Destroying everything? Falling onto Carrick? She didn't know what to say or how to react to it. "......" There was nothing but silence. Azura looked at Carrick and asked "Are you fine with me hanging around with you ponies or do you think I should just leave?"

Carrick took his time to contemplated his thoughts. The detective had looked around the room then right back into Azura. "Listen Azura, I've dealt with many type of ponies before. One just like you. The thing I've learned with that experience, is that they can be a bit of a wild card...but I like wild cards." Carrick tipped his hat. "As long as you have the same goal as I do, we'll have a good time."

Azura was still a little bit confused on what she was supposed to do in this mansion but she shrugged it off and said "Thanks Carrick.." She gave him a nice warm hug and kissed him on the cheek. She blushed and ran away to join the others to see what they were up to.

Carrick was surprised by the hug and the kiss to the cheek. "Yeah, no problem Azura." He muttered. 

 

He looked down for a second, then turned back to the couch. As he trotted towards the couch and took his jacket. He remember what he was tried to remember. Another folder inside the jacket as he looked inside. Just as I suspected. Carrick took his folder and saw all the victims. All of them were talked about in the other folders Donut Joe had. What connection did he have with them? 

 

The detective gave a shout "Everyone, find any type of information. I don't care what it is, just find it. We have to hurry, who knows who will come if we stay here longer." Carrick said.

Phee was walking back to Carrick. Her demeanor downtrodden, her head facing the ground, when something made her stop. A photo lofted towards the ground and landed in front of Phoenix. The photo was of a familiar looking pony and Quickly together. 

I know that pony... who is she. Phee tried to think but nothing was coming to mind. A teal mare pegasus with a rainbow colored mane? She still couldn't remember exactly who this was. 

 

And then she glanced, in the photo, a partial shot of the mare's flank. A cloud with a rainbow lightning bolt. The answer came to her instantaneously and a flood of nostalgia rushed back to her. The bed time stories her father used to tell her, of the wielders of harmony. And the side stories with each one of the wielders of harmony. She remembered specifically her favorite stories were the ones of the Element of Loyalty, the coolest pegasus in equestria. The rainbow maned, teal colored pegasus.

But they were just bed time stories right? Sure Twilight was the princess and all, but there was never any mention of any of the other wielders of harmony other than in fairy tales. If these ponies were real, then where were they in Phee's time? Were the tales her father told her true?

The tales of Twilight Sparkle sealing away the elements? Her friends trapped in the pits of Tartarus forever? 

All of this ran through her head as she glanced the photo. A look of recognition, and sadness crossed her face. 

"Yeah... secrets." Phee said as she gently hoofed the picture up and passed it over to Quickly

Quickly palmed the photo quickly and put it in his bag. He heard Carrick say something about evidence and sighed. "What the heck is that supposed to mean? All of this is evidence, and most of it is junk." He walked back to the main room and looked the place over. Taking an empty vial, he collected some of the blood from around the body. It wasn't difficult, since it was practically everywhere. He carefully stored it away.

Hypno watched Phee find something and give it to Quickly, but seeing the rather low reaction he didn't think it was too important. He turned his attention back to the apartment and kept scanning the area for anything that seemed odd, but continued to find nothing as he just felt too stressed out to concentrate.

Azura stood there and watched as everypony gathered evidence for the murder. "Can we leave now? It's so boring!" She headed towards the main door but it wouldn't budge. Azura tried bucking the door but it still wouldn't open. "Something isn't ri-" the door blasted open, knocking her backwards. Smoke started rushing into the mansion, and within seconds, the entire place was covered with smoke. "I.. I can't see.." she started to become afraid of what would happen next, but she didn't want to know.

 

(OOC: Thought I'd make it just a little bit more interesting.)

Hypno looked over to see Azura get knocked back and smoke billow from the door. As the smoke surrounded him he simply kept calm and tried to see with his senses instead of his eyes at this point. He wondered what had caused the smoke, but now he began to think It might of been left for them. "Is everypony alright?" He called out into the smoke as he wondered around.

"Smoke?" Carrick muttered to himself as the smoke started to fill the room. There wasn't any time to react as he try to keep himself from not losing any evidence. Just as the smoke appear, it started to fade away. A sense of movement came by as he looked around. A shadow appear then, disappear for the split second. The smoke finally dissipated as he saw what was missing...

 

Those reports...

 

"Oh boy. Everyone we have a visitor." Carrick replied as he ran right out of the front door. Seeing a cloaked figure running away...

Azura heard footsteps but the visitor was already gone when the smoke cleared out. "We're running out of time. Lets get those files back." She ran out the door, looking left and right, only to notice that he's no where to be seen. As a new user of magic, she has no idea what to do other than waiting for some pony more experienced to trace his location.

Quickly flapped his wings to clear the smoke, and saw Carrick leave. He walked out and saw a figure running away. He took a breath and reminded himself that he was not in charge of this mission. "What would you like me to do Carrick? I can shoot him, or chase him."

Acrid smog filled the room clogging not only the visual senses but the olfactory senses as well, causing Phee's eyes to water and her lungs to fill with horrid smelling smoke. She began to cough violently. She saw the outline of a figure for a moment but was quickly overtaken by the powerful smoke.

 

As the smoke dissipated, Phee regained her senses.

"Wha- what should we do" Phee asked in a terrified whimper. Phee had only felt this powerless once. Memories of Canterlot being reduced to rubble plagued her for a moment, before she fell back to reality. "I- it's all over now."

Azura looked back at Phoenix and said "It's not over until we say so.." She was waiting for Carrick's call on what to do, whether or not to chase the visitor or to let him go with such important documents. There was no time to waste, he has to make a quick decision before he escapes.

Hypno walked out of the apartment, his senses finally clearing up as he noticed the cloaked pony run away. Instead of wasting precious time waiting for the answer he figured that they were going to get anyway he decided to chase the pony. "We can't afford to lose anything, and if we can catch it, this pony might be a good lead for us." He thought out loud. He started off, jumping up to the roofs with the help of his wings and taking a more stealthy route as he chased the figure by scent. He wondered who this pony might be under the cloak as he trailed the pony.

Carrick contemplated his thoughts, Shooting could lead to destroying valuable data. No, we better get'em. "Apprehend him." Carrick took off and trotted towards the cloaked pony. Who was traveling rooftop to rooftop. This wasn't going to be easy. Not one bit...

Quickly crouched, and pushed off, taking to the air to chase the pony. He ascended quickly, and shot down at the fleeing pony. This isn't going to be easy. It never is. I wonder... Is this a resurface of past enemies, or introduction of new ones... It would not take him long to close the distance at this speed.

Seeing Quickly and Carrick not too far behind he figured he had made the right choice. He slowly tried to catch up at least to the point where he might be able to see under the ponies hood with his above average speed as he maneuvered the buildings and rooftops. His eyes trailed a magical aura as he fired a mild magical blast towards the pony's feet. He knew this was a public place, and didn't want to hurt the evidence, so he didn't put much force into it, but it was still enough to trip a pony. He figured it could help him gather data on what the pony would do in response, or even end this chase quicker than he figured it would take.

Azura just stood there and looked up into the skies, knowing there was no way she could go as fast as Hypno or Quickly since she doesn't have wings. She noticed that Carrick was running in the direction of the cloaked bastard that stole the files. Since Carrick was an earth pony as well, she had no excuse not to chase him as well. "Hey Phoenix, let's go!" She told Phee before following Carrick.

Sapphire was examining the contents of one of the desks when smoke suddenly gushed around her. Her training took over and her spear materialized at her side glowing with magic. The smoke receded and she saw Carrick running out the door, she ran after him and noticed a pony running across the roofs and Quickly following right behind. Sapphire ran after them trying to keep up as fast as she can.

Azura noticed Sapphire running towards Carrick as well. 'That pony must've had a lot of guts to mess with a bunch of ponies like us..' she thought. What was in those files anyway? Is it really worth risking our lives chasing somepony who might end up killing one of us?

Phee took to the skies the instant Carrick told them to apprehend the cloaked figure. 

It was then she realized that she was not very fast at flying. She couldn't keep up with Quickly or Hypno, and was beginning to lose sight of everypony including  the suspect. 

Phoenix just flew above Carrick, who, due to being on the ground, was also losing ground on the suspect.

The pony didn't take any chance to look behind, the pony knew that being chased down, by a few ponies. The sounds of wings fluttering with the clip-clop of ponies galloping was just enough for him to take caution when he felt magic come by on his feet. He took a leap of faith and jump onto another building. He needed to get away from them...

Carrick took his time to think of a plan, seeing where everypony was. It was only a matter of time for all of us to lose him if they do anything. Quickly is fast enough to catch him, but can he overpower the pony? Hypno certainly has the magic power, but losing the files in the crossfire would end badly. Azura's magic powers are too erratic to be used and Phoenix....is slow and probably weak. She could only be used as a diversion. Carrick started to consider everything as the pony continue to flee from the scene.

Azura was starting to get a bit tired. She was running too fast and forgot to pace herself. She stood still to catch her breath, as Carrick ran, he became more and more distant from her. Breathing heavily, she could feel her chest beating like a drum. "Dammit.. How am I going to catch up now?"

Hypno followed not far behind, jumping and using his wings to glide his way to the next building. He held off on using magic for now, so he concentrated all of his strength to simply catch up. He slowly started to lessen the distance between the two. And at this rate it wouldn't be long before he would reach the pony. He braced himself for anything as he followed.
