"Starbolt eh?" He said as he took the folder and safely slipped it into his coat pocket. "I suppose It wont be too hard." He added as he nodded and started walking off with Azura to Starbolt's house. "I'm not sure if It will be me that will need protecting in a fight." He explained with a slight chuckle as he glanced at her, his eyes seemed to spin for a second before he turned back. He still remembered what Azura had did inside the building and kept himself ready for anything on the way. "I suppose I've been rather nervous lately too, though It has been continuing for a while now." He rambled on.

 

Lazarus gave a salute as merely replied. "It's Lazarus, Sir. You can count on me." He quickly began securing the area, and regrouped with the ponies as soon as he was done.

Carrick took his time to consider his options. Canterlot ponies could be big trouble and if we were to investigate it could lead to a backlash. Not to mention if they find the dead body, it could lead to more trouble. However, if the pony was on the same area as Phoenix. Why didn't Phoenix notice?...or maybe she didn't want us to know. Nevertheless, with the dead body. We need to act fast.

 

"Alright, we're going to go in teams of two here." Carrick took out his folders and scan the information. The detective had dangerous material in his hooves and if he stay in the open with it. It could be trouble. The earth pony walk over to Hypno and gave him the files. "You and Azura go to...." Carrick gave a soft sigh. He knew of one pony who would be able to help us....

 

"Starbolt's place. I'm positive that she is trustworthy enough." Carrick turned to Lazarus. "You, I'm apologize for not knowing your name, but I need you to make this area secure this alleyway and follow us right after. Something is amiss here."

Quickly shifted uneasily, thinking about the situation. If there's two reliable things about Canterlot, it's that there are Unicorns everywhere, and it's not meant to be a battlezone. Despite it's strategic location on this mountain and heavy guard presence, it has to many residential areas. Most of the time, it doesn't have a wall. Our capital is very vulnerable to attack, and it worries me. Or maybe it's all the buildings making me nervous; this place is not my home. I don't think it ever could be, not anymore. He put his goggles back over his eyes as an instinctive comfort motion and began diligently checking his weapons, awaiting orders.

Azura walked closely beside Hypno and asked him softly, "What are you worried about, Hypno?" She thought he looked pretty capable of taking on anypony, so what's he worried about? "It's not me you're worried about, is it?" she said in a sad and depressed tone.

When Phoenix heard Carrick issue the orders she noticed that he forgot to issue an order to her. Or maybe it wasn't that he forgot to issue an order, perhaps it was intentional. 

"So Carrick? What am I supposed to do here? Should I just stay with you, or maybe do some legwork somewhere else?" Phoenix asked shyly.

Hypno gave a grin for a second "Well, you did put on quite the show earlier in that building." He commented. "Though the others may be worried about that, I'm not for now. What worries me has to do with somepony else that I've met in a mission. I should of anticipated problems like this from the start though." He said with a sigh. "I've been paranoid about it for too long now, only shows how weak I can be." He ended with a chuckle, almost talking to himself more than Azura for a moment.

"I'm sorry about what happened back over at the building, I have no idea what happened back there.." She replied. "It felt like I was possessed, and I not looking forward to the next time it happens.." She wondered who this pony was, but she didn't want to ask since he doesn't look like he wanted to talk about it.

"Can't be too bad I guess. No harm done for now" He joked. "I'm sure we'll figure out what it was sooner or later. Quickly seems to know a lot about these kind of things if you're looking for help. I wish I could help, but I can't remember much anymore." He explained as he started to notice Starbolt's house off in the distance. "Looks like we're close to the house. Hope Starbolt is home so we didn't come all this way for nothing... Last chance to ask me anything before we get there." He finished.

Azura didn't really know why Hypno asked her if there was anything she'd like to ask Hypno, but she was a little bit curious why Hypno and Azura had to bring the folder over to Starbolt's place. "Well there is one thing.. Why are we going to Starbolt's house anyway?"

"Ah, I'm sure it has to do with the folder that the dead pony wanted. Seeing Carrick gave it to me and told me to bring it to her." He explained with a chuckle. "However, Carrick usually can pick up the clues from anything. I'm guessing it has to do with magic if we're going here. After all, Starbolt used to be the Unicorn caster type of our group." He explained as he walked up to the house and knocked on the door.

Carrick turned to Phoenix. "Yeah, we're going to do a bit of investigation. Knowing Quickly's senses on this, we better go check it out. Even if it's some random civilian. With a smaller group. We won't look as intimating." Carrick explained.

 

"You, Me and Quickly are moving. Lead the way, Quickly." Carrick replied.

Acura wanted to ask Hypno another question but before she could, he already knocked on the door. 'I guess it could wait.' She thought to herself as they both waited for Starbolt to open the door. That is if she's at home. A minute or two past but there was no reply. "Hey Hypno, are you sure she's in there?" She asked Hypno impatiently.

"Well at this time of night, she probably is." He said, and then abruptly raised his voice and knocked louder on the door. "But she could just be studying too hard!" He shouted towards the house. His voice came back down as he turned back to Azura. "Though if you had anything else in mind to ask, now would be the time seeing we're waiting." He explained as he sat down by the door.

Carrick turned to Phoenix. "Yeah, we're going to do a bit of investigation. Knowing Quickly's senses on this, we better go check it out. Even if it's some random civilian. With a smaller group. We won't look as intimating." Carrick explained.

 

"You, Me and Quickly are moving. Lead the way, Quickly." Carrick replied.

Quickly resisted the urge to salute. Now is not the time for my newer habits. He moved around the corner at a steady pace, ears twitching, as he followed the residual trail. He made sure to go at a pace that would get them there quickly without losing anypony.

"Anything you need me to do Carrick?" Sapphire asked him after he gave orders.

After awhile a dark blue light flies out a window hovers for a moment and flies back inside.

 

The door next to Hypno opened revealing a light blue unicorn.
"Hello Hypno, it has been a while. Who is your friend?" Starbolt asked.

After he saw the light, he got up. "Nevermind, looks like the waiting is over." He said as he turned around over to Starbolt. "It has been a long time, hasn't it. This here is Azura, Carrick started up the group again and we were sent to you so you could help us with this." He said as he pulled the folder out of his coat and held it out to her. "I'm not sure what's inside of it, but apparently you can help us." He explained.

Azura looked at the light-blue mare and said "Hey Starbolt, nice to meet you." She looked around and asked "Do you mind if we come in?" It was getting a tiny bit cold outside and she was a little bit paranoid that somepony was watching them. "I.. I think somepony's watching us.." she whispered quietly.

Starbolt sighed. 'Just like old times.....' She tried not to think about Carrick, but that was unimportant now there were things to do. "Of course, come on in." She said as she took the folder Hypno was handing out. "Fae, go out and scout for anything suspicious." Starbolt's house was unimpressive, just a typical house except that there were several scorch marks on a wall. Starbolt directed the two to the living room and offered them a seat.

Fae flew out one of the windows and began too fly above the buildings. Her small form was easily mistaken as a small insect, she was quite sure that whoever was watching wouldn't notice her.

Hypno sat down with a sigh and leaned his head back into his seat in a relaxed state. "So how's it been going since the end of the case and the wedding? I haven't really... been in touch since the end of it."  He explained as he waited in his seat patiently. "What happened to your wall by the way? Wild spell accident" He said with a slight smirk.

Azura went into the house, knowing that she's a lot more safer than she was compared to standing around outside. Maybe she's just a little bit too paranoid, but her gut tells her there's danger nearby. "Thanks for letting us in. So.. I was kinda wondering.. If you used to be part of the team, why did you leave?" She asked Starbolt.

"Just follow us. I am unsure of what will be ahead of us. The more ponies we have here, the better. Hypno and Azura can take care of themselves." Carrick replied. Trotting right behind Quickly. He was unsure of what lies ahead, but continues to trot along. 

 

His thoughts continue to lie ahead of backlash of all these murders that happened today.

Phee was a bit nervous now. Of course she didn't want to go down that dark alley again. Even if it was a small chance, there was still a chance that the mysterious mare that Phee encountered was still there. Or worse, Maybe the mare was waiting for the group to break apart, just so she could jump in and turn Carrick against her by explaining to him what Phee really was. 

All these things ran through her mind but all she said was, "Okay", as she proceeded to follow Carrick.

Quickly came down an alley to a dead end and stopped. "There's a strong residual magical energy base here. Somepony used alot of magic here, and recently." That was all Quickly said on the matter. He knew that one of the ponies was Phee, but he didn't think it important.

Sapphire followed behind Carrick remaining silent. She looked around for anything suspicious.

Starbolt rolled her eyes at Hypno's question. "No. Apparently Fae saw some intruder broke in and tried to subdue him or her with a spell, but then the intruder simply vanished. Nothing was lost and all that was left is that scorch on the wall."
She turned to Azura. "Look I don't really feel comfortable answering that question...." She said with an uneasy tone, obvious that that was a personal matter.

Hypno looked slightly interested now. "Well that's odd... Do you know if they were wearing a cloak? A cloaked pony tried getting the folder you got there earlier today from us. Of course we eventually caught up and he just offed himself after Carrick talked to him. I wouldn't be surprised if these things were tied honestly." He explained "Got to talk to Corpus too. Said he was going to be an 'observer' or something." He added with a sigh. "Either way, I guess we just need your opinion on what's inside the folder. Though if you want to come back with us I'm sure you're welcome to."

Azura didn't know why Starbolt didn't feel comfortable answering the question, but I guess it doesn't really matter if she told her or not. "What a mess.." she said, referring to the situation at hoof. "All this murder is making me sick." she finished with a sigh.
