the white represents the bleekness of the world

the crumpled up corner represents imperfection, nothing is perfect, everything has flaws

the figure in the middle that has been erased represents the past, and that you cant get rid of it, no matter how hard you try, some part of it always remains

 

(yes this is a joke, i came up with this in 2 minutes, its a joke on how easy some one can come up with this stuff and how ridiculous overly pretentious people are)

No no, it isn't pretentious at all... I love the few speckles of discolored wood pulp is strewn amongst the white and is that a smudge? Or is it something ebbing away at the balance of white and black?

those represent impurity, even the most purist of things, have some impurities to them, its connected to the fact that nothing in the world is perfect or pure

with all seriousness. pretentious art was a creative concept when it was first introduced. but in the end the artist who uses it is just lazy.

So when Kanye West Sold White T-Shirts. At least John Cage having a 3 movement work of silence actually had some resonance with the audience.
