Your Responce To My Little Dashie

1. No. It was absolute bollocks. I was too fixated on how terrible the writing was to give even the slightest hint of a shit about these characters.

2. No. Celestia had every right to pull Dash away from that creep. The way he was raising her and the way she was acting, there's no way in hell she'd ever turn out properly.

3. No. NO! NO! Absolutely not! Just the thought of another one of those things taking up precious internet space makes my skin crawl.

4. Yes, actually. Derpy isn't an established character in the show's canon, so the writer can take as many liberties as he wants without worrying about utterly destroying a beloved character. Granted, this still wouldn't make the character any more interesting than a cardboard box, but at least it's less to ruin.

No it wasn't.

Snowdrop, in my opinion, is just near the line of Mary Sue. Basically she's always acting like she's some "special snowflake" as she doesn't even try to accept the fact that she is blind nor deal with it. She's an outcast when, given the information in the show, ponies would actually try to assist her rather than taunt her. And the automatic friendship with Luna...no.

I think you're looking at Snowdrop the wrong way. It's more of a fairy tale than it is a modern dramatic work. I recommend you compare it to the story of Cinderella. You'll find quite a few similarities in structure and characterization. Unlike My Little Dashie, Snowdrop actually holds up pretty well when you allow it a pinch of "fairy tale leeway."

But I'm straying off the topic; you have your opinions, I have mine. But it honestly seems a bit clear that Derpy evidently doesn't belong in a fanfiction that's not supposed to even show her. Like I said, it would ruin it as it makes no sense at all.

"There's always people that try to start arguments.  No matter the topic."

You misinterpret the video.  She is too young to grasp the full meaning of her blindness, which is both physical and metaphorical yet you act like everyone has to be a dick to her in order for the video to have any significance.  Remember the scene where they were talking outside?  The fact that she was not able to see the stars and wish upon them was supposed to represent how she had no "wishes" and dreams to pursue because of her disability.  The message was that even though she was blind, she was able to forge her own "star" to wish upon, which IMO is a beautiful lesson that we can even apply to real life.

I actually never thought of it that way. Making your own star to wish on is a pretty original twist on the fairy tale formula. O_o

Thank you for pointing that out.

I honestly don't cry much at sad stuff, and My Little Dashie wasn't an exception. It was very sad yes, but I didn't shed any tears. It's a fantastic story but and remains one of the best fan-fictions I've ever read.

"That was... good, I suppose?"

Back then I couldn't really understand what's so legendary about the fic. Yeah, it was rather good, but not oh-my-good-this-is-the-best-piece-of-writing-ever good. I can understand that many people could relate with the main guy, though. The writer did an excellent job to create a blank slate of a protagonist so that readers can put themselves inside the story

Just like how Stephenie Meyer wrote Twilight Saga

1: Nah. I felt bad for him, but it takes more to make me cry. There are many much more sad stories that haven't.

2: Not particularly.

3: Whatever. I wouldn't read it, so the author can do what they like.

4:

It's fine, but there are dozens of better stories that get far less recognition. It was probably the first ponyfic I read and it didn't really stand out as a classic or something I'd want to reread even back then.

Then again, couldn't everything we know of only be a delusional fantasy *thematrix*? The story is fiction, so there's nothing restricting the story from saying that there is a filly named Dashie in that box  ;).

There's fanfiction, and then there's fanfiction. I personally found "My Little Dashie" to be poorly written tripe. That's why I stopped reading somewhere in the middle. It was self insertion fanfiction at it's worst. The author took a main character out of it's normal element, and changed it's personality. It hardly even counted as a fanfiction after that. It would be like if I wrote a Sherlock Holmes story, but had Holmes a foundling who grew up to be London's best chimney sweep. It wouldn't make sense. The author was basically writing about how he wanted to keep a flying pony as a pet, and yes, I did get the feeling that the guy in the story was delusional.

2. She is the elemant of loyalty, they need her.

3. Stop calling yourself a pony, you're not a fucking pony.

4. No.

1) It's a good fanfic, however I didn't read it, I listened to Mic the Microphone's dramatic which was a bit.. Yeah.. Couldn't take it seriously when he started doing Rainbow Dash's voice.

2) Not really, as people have said, Rainbow Dash doesn't belong there, but they could have given that guy (can't remember if he had a name) something in return.. They just kinda took her and probably scarred that guy for life.

3) Nah, the story wrapped up.. A sequel would probably ruin it.

4) No, but I would like to see that.. My Little Derpy-iee?

Have a nice cold pint, and wait for all this to blow over..

1: Did you cry? No. I'm not really the target audience for this, I think, so it didn't affect me besides a mild, "Aw, that's cute. :3"

2: Was Celestia a jerk for taking RD? Absolutely not, she's a pony, and she belongs in Equestria. Not the human world.

3: Official Part 2, anyone? Isn't there one already?

4: Would've been better with Derpy. Um, no. I thought the fic was cute the way it was.

Honestly, I don't see what the fuss is about. But again, I'm not the target audience, and even though I cry easily, I've never cried over a fanfiction before. So there's that. :P

1. Honestly, I didn't cry, because all the feels got channelled down to my heart, and I got a heartache the subsequent few days as a result... -.-

2. Nope, I won't really think that they are jerks, since everything has got to happen for a purpose.

3. I can't really say much about this one. I'm fine if there's an official part 2... (In fact, I've read a [non-official] sequel presented as a comic before.) But it's not really that necessary, actually...  :derp:

4. Erm... I don't think that's a really good idea, even though Derpy's my most favourite pony... She'd most likely derp around, creating trouble if she's involved... Somehow...  :derp:

I'd still say it's a pretty decent story.   :muffins:

I didn't find it sad at all. And both universes seem to have got a happy ending. Also in my eyes:

Option 1: Live in awesome equestria, practically free of war, intolerance, and be automatically be praised as a hero because you happen to possess this magical artifact...thing. It's a win win.

Option 2: Live with your love, in a messed up world, complete with you adoptive father hating you for your choices, and being hunted down for what you are. Also, you JUST met, are you going to still feel that way in a week? A month?

I thought it was good, it had WAY to many coincidences in it. It made me cry, i loved the story's ending. I cant even remember the last time i cried before that. i give it a 6-7 out of 10

i don't know why but i really liked cupcakes.

1. I didn't exactly cry over the episode, it takes more than Dashie in this fan fiction to make me cry.

2. Not at all. Rainbow Dash belongs in Equestria, not a world that she doesn't belong in known as the human world.

3. I think there is a Part Two already.

4. Actually, no. The fan fiction was cute in it's only unique and special way.

I was half asleep when I read it, yet I was fully awake.

1. Not really, but at the time I was sleepy

2. No, I feel that if he had not retained the memories then he would have been cheated, but I think he was ready to move on.

3. I think that would ruin the gravity of the story.

4. I don't really see how Derpy could've had a positive effect on the story, so sorry.

I didn't cry, but I don't cry for anything I read.  Only TV shows, and one movie (Bolt).  I didn't think Celestia and the other Mane Six were jerks, they wanted their Dashie back.  I haven't read the unofficial parts 2 and 3, personally I'm happy with the way the original ended and have a hard time seeing it continuing, but maybe I'll bring myself to read part 2 someday.  I don't know what Derpy has to do with anything but I assume that was the point in bringing her up.

My response to My Little Dashie was very positive.  It was one of the first (or was it the first?) fanfics I ever read, and it's still one of my favorites.  It's just so bittersweet and emotional, and I think it deserves its popularity.

I love you.

1. Not really.....I'm an emotional wall and nothing can make me cry. To be honest there isn't nothing sad about it. Everything get's solved at the end and the dude is happy for RD being in her real home.

2. Nope she doesn't belong on Earth.

3. As overrated as the story is. No

4. I don't even see how Derpy would even fit in. Even if she could it would just feel out of place.
