My parents are hell bent on me driving something brand new and have been since I got my job. They think, "Oh, well he's making decent money. He should drive a brand new car." When I'm thinking, "Holy crap! There are other things I want to do. What is so bad with driving something that is a few years old? It'll do exactly the same thing a brand new car will do. Get me from A to B." 

 

I'm just sick of all the problems my Prelude is giving me. It's been a good one. But it's time to replace it. It's been time to replace it for a while now. I'm just putting it off because my parents really want me to have a brand new car when I see nothing wrong with a CPO. .-.

 

It'll be almost as good as a new car and it'll save me about a few thousand bucks overall (or about a hundred dollars a month on the payment)

Yep. It's harder for me to get closer to people online. But the people I grow close to IRL, that's where it hits hardest. I have a thing against dating because I've lost some of my best friends by dating them.

Yeah. Something about how when you've been intimate with someone, it makes it awkward to go back to a less intimate friendship level. I mean, the last two girls I dated are actually nice people and I don't have anything bad to say about them. They're actually wonderful people! Buuuuuuut.....it's just a little awkward to be around them or to talk to them. It also looks weird to people on the outside. People on the outside looking in will perceive it as being we broke up but we're still talking to each other. So we never really got on with our lives and that'd be unhealthy. I don't mind talking to them if they ever wanna say hi to me. But, really, I don't have anything to say to them. And I'm not one to call someone when I have nothing to say to that person. 

 

I still consider them friends. And if they ever wanna call and chat, I've no qualms with it! But I just don't have anything to say to them anymore. And they've likely moved on with their own lives as well. 

 

Maybe one of them will be my wife in the future. Who knows? I really don't care anyway. I'm sick of dating. It's a waste of my time. I've got better things to be doing with myself. Like improving my credit, buying a car, buying a home, going back to school, obtaining a CPA license, etc.

It's not really mean so much as it is just the nature of things. It's incredibly difficult to go back to being just friends when you've been really intimate with someone. Like I said, they are (by no means) enemies. Well except my second girlfriend in high school. She turned out to be a total bitch. But both the girls I dated in college are actually really cool people. It's just difficult to talk to them. It's only the way things work. It sucks. But it is what it is. We're just not as close as we were before we dated, and I don't know that we ever will be again. At one point, I hated that, but now I understand that it's the way it is. I've got (hopefully) plenty of years left on me and lots of time to mature and make more friends. 

 

And that keeps me hopeful. 

 

And if six dollars buys you just one potato, that had better be one really delicious potato.
