You do realize fuses only come in certain levels, and that you need to choose the level directly above the appliances amp limit right?

Anyway, off to school I go!

 

I do understand fuses only come in certain amperage ratings (if that's what you mean)

 

I don't understand everything about them, though. I opened the fuse box, there were 20 amp fuses in all the slots, and I replaced them with identical fuses. I do know how to identify a blown fuse, but I figured it couldn't hurt to swap all three out. And replacing a fuse is literally as easy as replacing a light bulb. I mean, the only way to screw up replacing a fuse is to stick your finger in there. .-.

 

All I know now is half my apartment still doesn't have power. So it sounds like damaged circuitry. I thought the idea of a fuse was to cut power to the lines before they became overloaded to prevent frying your circuits or starting a fire rather than allowing your appliances to continue running until the circuits become damaged.
