King Sombra's Horn?

In canon King Sombra's Horn remained intact after he was killed by Crystal Heart and possibly scattered to the winds. You could just dismiss the horn as being nothing but a horn I guess.

 

There's only one fan fiction I've read where something like this happens. But yeah, in a fan fiction or alternate universe anything can happen.

 

 

 

This is a gold mine for writers to use it as an Artifact Of Doom like the One Ring from LOTR.

 

Just like the One Ring King Sombra's Horn may drive crazy an unfortunate soul who found it. He may even be able to take control of the mind of Pony carrying his horn, through his mind control over the Pony he may even be able to somehow regain his physical body and power back and get his revenge.

I actually run with the idea that he will slowly regenerate from the horn and come back meaner than before. I have my own theory as to why he had no real dialog or presence as such in the S3 double episode. I think he was still too weak to manifest himself properly, had he been able to I have no doubt that he would be every bit as powerful as Discord etc.

 

Either way I'm holding out that he returns, if I'm wrong.... Then so be it.

Sounds like regeneration when you mentioned his physical body reforming if his horn remained intact. I wouldn't be surprised if a pony did find his horn.

It's not only pretty probable, but it would be awesome. King Sombra was weak in his episode, and the episode wasn't long enough. So I guess bringing him back, with a reference to Lord of the Ring would be totally epic. He really deserve more developpement.

I'm kinda amused by the idea of Sombra being like the Dungeons & Dragons super-Lich Vecna. *Way* back in time, in the original Advanced Dungeons and Dragons DMG it has various body parts of Vecna as magical artifacts. You could gain immense power from severing whatever part it was off of your own body and replace it with the Vecna part. There was a risk, though, of Vecna 'waking up' at any time, and taking over your body through that bit. The risk getting bigger the more bits of Vecna you had grafted onto you.

Oh, there should TOTALLY be a multi-episode LotR spoof involving Sombra's horn and the Crystal Empire and all that. Spike would be Gollum, of course.

The guy knows dark magic so it's very possible his horn can auto regenerate itself as well as his physical body. If not Sombra would most likely then somehow corrupt and possess n unfortunate soul.

 

Though I believe one of the staff members said that Sombra wouldn't be coming back so everyone assumes he's dead.

I have a theory about it actually. Sombra being kept in reserve for season 9. Season eight already has Chrysalis and tirek confirmed to be major villains, so I'm thinking that since those two will get a resolve this season, 8, season 9 will finish off Gen 4. Sombras horn, found by discord, who gets corrupted by it, not just convinced to go down the dark path like tirek did. Sombra possesses him, takes control etc and conquers crystal empire. Knowing that the elements could stop him, he destroys the tree of harmony and possibly the elements or at least scatters them. So quest to retrieve them begins or if they're destroyed, to find a way to take sombra-discord down. Heartbreaking scene with fluttershy would be present once the mane six confront him first time round. Having fanciful hopes like this for the season is just gonna hurt in the long run when my expectations or theories go out the window but oh well. It's sounds cool right?

I want Sombra to be resurrected. He deserves a comeback. He was one of the more interesting villains.

If Sombra would take over one pony, Sunburst. Not someone that is powerful, but extremely knowledgeable to have access to a trove of spells with the power to use them.
