[YouTube] Is Pinkie Pie actually becoming more Mature?

No way. She's still the same adorable pink pony that she's always been. Still loves parties, pranks, her friends, cupcakes, and smiles!

Pinkie Pie has always been the same pony that we all know and love.

I doubt it. She's always been the cute pink pony who always snorts when she giggles, is playful and bubbly and the Pinkie Pie we always loved!

Who the heck wants to see a mature Pinkie Pie? She'll never be the same. She's the element of laughter after all, so I'll doubt the cutest pink pony around will ever change.

You know i'm fine with alicorn twilight.

I'll hit the God damn roof with socially adjusted Diane pie.  Just no.  I think pinkie in the right situation becomes serviceable responsible.

On the other hand if you had a freaky friday situation with discord and PInkie,

I don't think that many people would notice Discord acting all that different lol.

Yes! And with Faust back on the force I think we'll see more character development for all the mane six.

Hey, now! Becoming more mature doesn't mean she would be any less fun! It would just mean that she would have better priorities and a healthier relationship with other ponies.

Did anyone else watch the spoilers/sneak preview for season 4?

In her song with Applejack, she's still talking about fun, balloons and parties, but she's also learning about familial love and the closeness of families.

I really think people are misunderstanding the question. This isn't asking if Pinkie Pie's grown up and set her hooves on the ground... it's asking if she's found more of a grip on the reality of the ponies surrounding her and changed for the better as a character. Personally, I'd say so.

Pinkie holds a natural desire not so much to party, but to make everypony around her happy. But of course, as learned from "A Friend in Deed", you can't make everypony happy with parties, and Pinkie learned this quite nicely. Heck, earlier, in "Party for One", Pinkie briefly endured the unbearable loneliness and depression that comes with losing your friends, and she became a completely different pony for that time. I sincerely doubt she brushed off that feeling as nothing, with her later interactions with ponies focusing far more on the ponies personally rather than just making them smile.

Sure, she's still clingy, naive, and holds little in terms of a grounding on reality, but she's definitely matured somewhat. As can be said for every character of the show. That's one of the shows most commendable aspects, methinks.
