House Everfree- Military service is voluntary, at least I think so. House Whitegold- Probably the House that relies on money the most, not sure how they'd support an extensive military, especially since they're just one city. Cult of Laughter - Mad ponies, they just fight for funsies.

I actually think it's pretty much necessary to fight in House Everfree due to the animalistic nature of the House. Literally and metaphorically, the strong eats the weak and the strong battles the other strong. It's like the food chain, you know?

 

For Whitegold, you just answered your own question there. Not only that, a lot of the soldiers in House Whitegold are motivated by the money they can get from them as payment. Others, it's the typical patriotism that says that the other Houses are weaker than the last remnant of the once great civilization of Equestria that is House Whitegold.

 

As for the Cult, it isn't just for fun. They're also moved by their absolute devotion to their deity and their zany desire to fulfill her every wish. There's also the promise of a brighter future filled with smiles if they comply and lend their souls services. Think of it as a huge deal with the Devil.

Blueprint... is a bit iffy. Hmmm well I will ignore some of the things in the main backstory, like her being part crystal pony, since like you said you OC is in multiple RPs, but focusing on the Equestria Divided section... I mean overall the bio is good, not really lacking detail, however I will address something, they are minor but I will still address them.

 

One of the Mane 6 weren't assassinated, Pinkie died by Twilight's hoof in an experiment, and this happened a while after The Sisters first went away. Though you did say 'supposedly' meaning your OC could of gotten the wrong info so i guess i could let that sly.

 

The Liberators? Is that an actual group or did you make that up? I'm not sure what to think of that, though it isn't a big issue unless Archi is concerned with it.

 

And lastly her children, if there ever comes an instance where her family comes into play, I suspect you will have to control her children. Just don't play as them constantly or else they will be considered characters.

 

Now I'm not sure if any of that needs to be changed since they are minor, Scholar is strict though. Otherwise i'd say she is good enough to be approved... though it isn't perfect.

 

(One more thing there is a village on the map called Crossroads Village that is a crossroad between Fillydelphia and New Ponyvile, and probably Ponyville if it wasn't flooded. Perhaps we can rename that to Bridleshire eh? But it isn't at the edge of the Everfree.)

I have taken the liberty to approve your second OC's. They were both very well done. Not really any major problems. And Oncler I'm probably gonna keep calling you Once-ler since that is who your OC is based off of heheh.

 

Also @@SilverHeart, @@Tricksters Pride, @, and @@LittleRawr, still need to submit their bios. Though LittleRawr and @, have been inactive.

 

I have also contacted Higurashi and TheSonicAlicorn from the other forums and Sonic said she will come when she can but still no response from Higurashi, he hasn't even read the message. So I fear we might need a new Mod for Everfree

 

And Lastly since Siver's OC will be in the Inquisition meaning he is in Moon and Star, we will have the most players in our House. Therefore I announce, as head of Moon and Star, that the house is closed until other houses, (especially Everfree) gain more members.

 

 

So I've been away from the computer for a few days, couldn't help it. But I'd like to put forward my offer to put Evergreen in this RP again. She was in the original in Everfree, remember?

 

Regardless, I think Cascade ought to be a Cult member at this point. She's at least associated with Cultists, if not actually one.

Everfree - Well, I agree with other opinions. Ponies of the Everfree have turned rather feral, and fight for the forest, and for their Mistress Fluttershy, and because their instincts tell them to.

 

Whitegold - Well, yeah, money. Whitegold's a bit more than one city - it controls much of the surrounding areas, like Baltimare and Capeville. You gotta think about Manehattan's placement on a map. Manehattan and its territories are placed at the mouths of rivers - the mouths of several of Equestria's most major rivers. And the mouths of rivers have historically been home to some of the most powerful trading empires in history. The Dutch come to mind. The Netherlands is a small country centered on the mouth of three of Europe's most important rivers, which meant it controlled trade to the inland areas of France and the Germanies. All the money passed through the Netherlands on trade's way in and out, which is why it was such a force in the development of the world for such a small country. During its heyday, it controlled one of the most successful colonial empires, in direct competition with Portugal, England and Spain.

 

Whitegold has similar strengths.

 

The Cultists, meanwhile, are fueled by a sort of religious fervor. That's kind of a major point of a cult - blind devotion. And even if Cultists get disallusioned, they still have to serve, due to the very simple and effective threat that the cult makes to deserters - the mere concept of the smiling doll.

What's a bit strange is that the majority of OCs don't even surpass thirty or older, let alone a motherly or fatherly parent age. Maybe because younger ponies are more free-minded and naive?

 

Just something I observed.

And to continue my point, I'll state other possibilities that might attempt to halt this result. 

 

One of them would be conscription, or the government drafting ponies into military service when they reach a certain age. While it may be true that some patriotic ponies would voluntarily join, this is an easily hated move. In this case, they might not be able to directly leave the army since the law binds them to the military, but there's a very good possibility of desertion or betrayal. If you look into history, conscription and drafting usually ends badly for the government.

 

One well known example would be the American Civil War, where the Union attempted to draft people into the U.S. Army. True, the government didn't break, but several riots rose after that, which usually ended in a bad note, with several riots rising up in the states, some of them eventually switching to the Confederates, moving to other countries, and/or evading conscription.

 

Another is luring and rewarding. Almost like hiring mercenaries into your army. This might work for some time, but sooner or later this is going to backfire. If they're just fighting for money and such, then they have a higher chance of betraying their own military or overthrowing it for self gain. Other houses might bribe or attempt to reward them even more if they fight for them instead, or the mercenaries themselves just have a change of view or don't want to fight on what they think is the losing side. Mercenaries and hired soldiers would become impractical unless they're fighting for a side with an advantage. 

 

The third is religious cause. Also might work a few years or so, but like the mercenaries, they also might have some differentiating views sooner or later. Think of the Protestant Reformation, but during wartime. That is what will eventually happen if they rely on religion too much – their views will start changing. And if they deal with it terribly, such as using military force and seizure, these ponies will soon turn into separatists, anarchists, or radicals if provoked; kind of like the German Peasant War. (I don't mean to offend any Christians here; I'm just using these as examples.)

 

The only few ways to avert all of this is only if they have some permanent gain or advantage, or if the war comes to an end.

Evergreen is very well done and detailed no issues what-so-ever. I do see it is the same as when you first submitted her, back when Descant was called 'Descant' and not Encore. Him and Rag and Tag are still in it, but see as they don't really cause any issues it doesn't matter. Approved

Again, same as the first time. I don't remember what Scholar thought of FallenMoon but seeing as it doesn't cause any major issues, and that her bio is nice and full of detail. I will approve it. I mean Scholar approved the first time 'round didn't he? Though the only thing that struck me as odd was why Stormwing was in Fillydelphia, but that's a major issue and can easily be fixed if it had too.

As we are standing right now Cult now has 3 and soon 4 members and maybe even 5 if Cascade is moved to the cult. Now Whitegold, Everfree, and Stormwing are the ones that have the least.

I would suggest going for another House, so House Everfree would probably be a good place to consider.

 

We have now reached five characters in House Earthborn, so unless my storyteller of the House disagrees I feel we should close it for now.

 

I've also updated the OP for all the characters that have been given a first approval, though I thinking I'm missing a couple. When I have something more than my phone I'll give a quick look through and out on the second approval. Just know that since Anonbrony has been my unofficial/official Bio Approver I likely won't have anything more than ever few small considerations and edits to add.

 

Also I'd like to nominate Anonbrony for Most Valuable Player for all the work he has done, who seconds it?
