"This is heartwarming and everything, but somethings coming this way and I'd rather not be here when it arrives..." Kingfisher said nervously as she stared at her own shadow passively. She was starting to remember things, and she had no intention of letting anything happen that might compromise her safety... or the safety of the others. "Can we go? Like, soon?"

Groaning as she forces herself upright, she stands up on shaky hooves before nodding to Kingfisher.  "Yeah, let's go."  She takes a couple shaky steps, gritting her teeth while trying to force some strength back into her sore legs.  After a few steps she nods at Kingfisher and the others.  "Let's find the Litany."

Zintiik swooped past, causing Scribbler to flinch, not expecting the changeling to be so hasty to enter. "Zintiik, wait! Ugh.. or not." He clearly seemed to care more for Willow than his own well being, and wasn't going to stop. Scribbler followed Orion into the tunnel, removing his goggles. He wouldn't need them in the dark. His vision was attuned to the dim light, and could see clearly. Having spent so many years in a nocturnal state, he had no problem with caverns and tunnels unaided, although he noticed Orion squinting, having trouble with the dim lighting. He attempted fired up his horn like a torch, to light the tunnel for him to no avail. "Huh, well, that's unfortunate. Perhaps I should lead the way, Orion. I can see well in these conditions.. But what about Mirror? She hasn't even made it up the stairs, and we shouldn't separate any more than we already have.. I know you're worry for Willow and Zintiik, but. We will all stand a much better chance if we stick together. Besides, the changeling seems to have a knack for finding her. They'll be alright for the time being." He assured Orion, trying to give him some form of comfort. Losing his power probably brought a lot of stress to him as it was, let alone losing track of Willow again. He hesitated for a response from Orion, hoping he would heed his advice. Scribbler didn't want to leave Mirror behind, he knew she would be in peril alone, just as much as Willow, and they'd all fair best if they had one another to rely on.

Mirror Image pulled the hood of the cloak over her head to keep the water that hung in the air from ruining it. She began to climb the stairs, trying to catch up to both Orion and Scribbler. The climb felt tedious, long, and most of all draining. In reality it took her around a minute to climb to the top. A large part of her wanted to stop and admire the view but that could hopefully wait until the grabbed the Litany. She stopped a few feet from the entrance. It was too dark for her to see beyond the entrance way. She couldn't shake the feeling that this wouldn't go well for her. Ignoring the feeling of dread she walked past the archway. Something feels...wrong... Mirror looks around trying to figure out what feels wrong.

Willow patted the Aspect comfortingly. "You still need a name, don't you? Did Orion ever name you?" Willow asked the Aspect. "Course he didn't," Willow said, not giving the Aspect time to answer. "What should I name you?" Willow asked, thinking for a moment. "How about Kricket?" Willow asked, putting the Aspect in her hoof. Just then she noticed that Zintiik had burst through the entrance, yelling something. She had heard him from the other side, it seemed like they were separated by a stone wall. "Zintiik! Zintiik, could you hear me?!"

He reached the top with little difficulty, not that the climb was the hard part. It's what was inside that would challenge him. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a cloaked pony walk through an entrance in the side. He followed the pony, stopping short of going inside.

 

'The moment I step inside, there's no turning back.' He thought to himself, running through a mental checklist of everything on his person and pulling out an actual checklist of everything on his person. 'Good thing I have spare cloaks. This one is beyond repair'

 

He removed his old cloak and threw it away, revealing a lightweight suit of armour, his plain silver longsword, and his saddlebags. He levitated one of his spare cloaks out of a bag and placed it around his shoulders in a dramatic flourish. Satisfied that he was sufficiently prepared, he stepped inside.

"Good work Aegis, that was brilliant. And it explains why Sunshine and I weren't attacked, the very culture of our homeland revolves around balance, which includes accepting both parts of our personalities. But I agree that we should get moving, the longer we stand around the closer Orion gets, and we don't want that. Plus if the next test does turn out to be about facing our fears, then none of us want to face mine. I don't want to give any details, but if we have to deal with my fears then our fights with Orion will look like a schoolyard argument." Midnight said before turning to walk in the direction he figured the Litany was in. He didn't care so much that it was the right way as long he got moving, he was starting to get a very bad feeling about this place. Besides, the sooner they finished this the sooner Sunshine returned to normal, and that was what mattered most to Midnight at the moment aside from saving Equestria.

Aegis nodded at Midnight, a sense of pride filling him. But there was no time to savour the victory. "Well, I'd rather not be around for that one. Pavisa, Kingfisher, lead the way. We're outta here," He said, stretching his currently useless wings to avoid cramping. Out of the corner of his eye, he could've sworn he saw his shadow wink at him.

 

'Hehe, definitely not an evil entity. You were just lonely and incomplete, weren't you, mate?'

"Guys! You;re forgetting me!" Blast shouted, immobilized to the ground. Eclipse then used his psychokinesis to lift Blast back up to his hooves. He then cracked his muscles.
"Get going! We need to find this thing!" He shouted. The two then caught up to the group and Blast ran beside Aegis.

"Thanks for helping me, Aegis." He said rhetorically. "Whatever, let's just get moving." Blast could feel himself getting more tired as they approached the Litany, the same feelings he had before. The only thing keeping him going was a sense of determination.

Blake stood up and began to walk in a speedy march. He brushed past Kingfisher with a serious expression on his face. "I couldn't agree more. It IS time to go." He had no idea where he was going, he couldn't see through the dark, but this fucking ruin was beginning to seriously piss him off. He maintained a brisk, angry pace, walking directly through any shadows in the way.

Hearing familiar voices ahead, Aphrodite quickly trotted over to the source to find Blast and the other pony, Eclipse. "Blast?!" Aphrodite exclaimed, exhausted from trotting around so much. She quickly fainted from her hooves giving out.

Blast was surprised that he found Aphrodite in the middle of the temple like this. He extended his front legs to embrace her in a hug, but it seemed as if she tired herself out. Because before she could even reach the stallion, she collapsed onto the ground.

"What? Aphrodite." Blast ran to her and knelt over her unconscious body. 

 

Eclipse

Eclipse used his psychokinesis to lift Aphrodite off of the ground. He then gently placed the mare on Blast's back.

"C'mon, Blast, let's get this over with so you can get your little marefriend to safety." Eclipse said, smirking to himself as he continued to trot along the corridor.

As Aphrodite laid unconscious on Blast's back, an hour or two passed until she awoke from her slumber. "What the buck am I doing on your back?" Aphrodite snarled, hopping off of Blast's back. With one look around her surroundings, Aphrodite asked, "Alright, what's happening here?"

Zintiik

 

Zintiik was so consumed with the thoughts going through his head that at first he didn't detect Willow calling to him.  Still having difficulty controlling his shapeshifting abilities,  Zintiik turns his gaze towards her voice.  He still couldn't see - through the tears in his eyes and the imagined images of his past prey judging him, Zintiik didn't even really remember where he was.  

 

"W...  Willow?  Willow, make them stop!"  He placed a hoof shakily against the stone wall separating them, trying to figure out what was happening.  "I...  I didn't mean it...  They just won't stop..."

"Kr-aa-ckt!" Mimicked the aspect happily: wondering if this sudden influx of attention towards it might result in being given food of some sort - the twisting ether where it had been summoned from had a distinct lack of interesting flavours after all - and it did enjoy the things in this world. It sniffed eagerly at the mares empty hooves but couldn't seem to see anything to eat anywhere.

Orion nodded: he couldn't say what exactly, but even though he might not trust the mare as fully as he did Scribbler, he felt strangely compelled to keep her just as close. They would find Willow: Zintiik was the only one of them without magic - and so by Orion's calculation was the best to seek out his sister anyway.

 

"Mirror, are you there?" Be asked - feigning the same confidence he had maintained with the Litany's power and Legion guiding him. "Come, we need to hurry."

"Okay everypony... or at least... Everypony who's left..." Kingfisher said: noting the absence of Crimson Grinn and a few others who's names she still couldn't quite remember - whether it was the caves doing or their own, they had managed to scatter quite dangerously. "Lets move: we can pick up the stragglers on the way out... I hope."

 

She hoped that the litany was close: the ominous sound in the distance was closing in far too quickly for her liking...

Something was wrong, it felt like something that should be there was gone. She stood quietly, searching the room for an answer. Eventually she looked down, towards her hooves. No...that's not right. Mirror thought as she stared at her hooves, the right foreleg no longer matched her left leg. Instead it was a mixture of purple fur and scarred flesh. The scarred flesh twisted and spread out and around her body as if it were infected by some foreign virus. Sparks fizzled from her horn as she failed to cast. She took a few deep breaths to counter her natural panic. I can't let them see this...I guess...I guess I'll have to do that for now....this is embarrassing....I haven't been forced to do this for years. Mirror Image sighed as she pulled the hood of the cloak further over her head, making her look more like a cultist than a traveler in the current environment.

 

"Of course...I'm on my way." She said as she walked after Orion and Scribbler, forgetting that Scribbler's eyesight improved in the dark.

Willow smiled warmly to the Aspect and let go of it. "Can you go find Orion? Go find Orion, please?" Willow tried to ask politely, letting it fly away. "Make who stop? Is somepony torturing you over there?" Willow asked worriedly, knowing she couldn't do anything about it.

 

(( OOC: I figured the walls wouldn't be able to reach the ceiling, so the Aspect could just fly over. ))

"Ugh, I hate that stupid smirk of yours. Bright? Cheerful? We're not at a tea party, we're here to find the Litany!" Aphrodite stomped her hoof, and figured the stallion was lying. She trotted away, following the group.

"Complete opposite.." Aphrodite grumbled, "I don't have a clue. I wouldn't remember anything. Even if I did, I'd think it's stupid and try to remove it from my mind as quickly as possible. Otherwise I'd start talking about.. rainbows and sunshine." Aphrodite gagged.

Zintiik groaned as he tried to paw at the wall, still unable to see clearly.  "I...  I didn't mean it...  They won't stop staring...  Willow, I can't make them stop...  Willow, where are you?"  He wiped a hoof across his eyes, stunned for a moment as he does.  Why is my hoof orange?  Oh, no, wait, it's back now...  What is happening to me!?  Trying to figure out what was going on, and to try and escape the judgmental eyes following his every thought, Zintiik starts to pull himself along the floor at the base of the wall.

Pavisa gives a small nod as she starts to make her way down the path that she assumed lead to the Litany, stumbling every few steps but managing to keep up.  "I really hope we find this book soon..."

"I'm on the other side of this.. stupid wall!" Willow said, throwing her hoof at the wall and sliding down on the other side. "Don't worry, Zintiik. Whatever's bugging you, I'm here for you," Willow said hopefully, smiling but knowing that Zintiik couldn't see it.

Blake walked into the darkness, far ahead of the group. He's cooled down a bit, but still gets a subliminal memory every once in a while. He looks around seeing strange markings on the wall. "Man, I'll bet that we could sell the location of this place for a fortune." gawked the treasure hunter in him. In his awe filled state his front hoof wandered to the edge of a broken bridge, and a chunk fell off. His heart beat quickly as he heard the rock hit the earth 5 secs later. "Shit. I can't believe I'm saying this, but can we go a few seconds without something exciting please?" He called back. He took this chance to sit where he stood to catch his breathe, and look for a route around the gap.

"Oh, c'mon, Aphrodite, sunshine and rainbows aren't that bad." Blast said to the mare, continuing to walk by her side. "Without sunshine, the world would simply plunge into darkness." Blast knew that what he just said might've sounded crazy. It probably made him come off as a complete nutcase. "Anyways, could you imagine a world without the sun? I think that'd be just awful."

"Ugh, stop being so smart!" Aphrodite said, playfully bumping Blast. "Well, a world without the sun would be pretty dreadful.." Aphrodite frowned, rolling her eyes. "You're not getting the point. I wouldn't want to live in a world where everything's happy. Where's the fun in that?"
