I have been living in the country for several years now, and own a small "farm". I love living out here, as living in a crowded, smoggy city sucked monkey balls, but I wouldn't consider myself "country" by any means. More of a hippy, really.

I also LOATH most country music. A majority of it is just god awful. It's like they're trying to make something worthy of cringing.

A'ight, look. There's no wide open space like Ontario.

That happens to be where I hail from.

The Bruce Penninsula is a little turd that sticks out into Lake Huron and is home to what feels like 30 people. I've chopped down trees, split firewood, shot coyotes, and shovelled driveways so long they should have their own street signs. And I've done all these things in the dead of winter - which is a lot of the year - with the snow coming down like a continuous blanket.

Bruce County strong, Eh.

Yep.

I live in Texas. Even the big cities are country.

I live in a tiny town up by the Red River called Leonard, without about 250 people. There's a lot of open fields and such around here.

I'm not really country. I live on a farm, yeahh, but I don't have much to do with that. I have some really country friends, though.

I live in a small town called Ancaster. It's a small rural town that's starting to be filled with housing complexes. Here's a pic of a lovely neighbourhood in our town.

My crush lives in the middle of nowhere. In an even smaller town that's surrounded by farmland. Hoping she gets to be a brony sooner or later :3

Nice vernacular.

I definitely have a different mindset then most people out here. Lots of people like to hunt out here, I personally can't stand it. People like to chew tobacco, I think it's vile and disgusting. People like to wear boots, I think they suffocate my feet, and prefer open-toed shoes.

Yup. Definitely different.

Count another international brony to the rural/country list.

I currently live in a small rural town known as Tallong (link), which currently has a population of around 700-800 people and is located in the state of New South Wales, and is part of the "Capital Country" region of the state.

The town is mainly rural bushland and the township only consists of the local primary school, general store and the local rural fire service with the nearest major services (e.g post office) being either in Marulan, Bowral or Goulburn.

The town also has two lookout points, the main one being the Badgery's overlooking the Shoalhaven River:

I've been living out in the area for almost ten years and I'm the only brony in the town.

While this is an advantage with the peace and quiet, getting to meetups or events is a challenge due to the lack of public transport in the area in the form of a reduced train service that runs three times on a weekday or the only one train (up and back) on a weekend from the station, and the local bus service doesn't run on weekends.

(Sighs)....the life of a rural brony is not an easy one.

To prove a point about how far in the country I live, my internet isn't good enough to watch that youtube video you posted.

But anyway, I am mostly a closet brony, I have a brony T, but I don't wear it to school or anywhere for that matter, I use it as a shirt for around the house. I live in a tiny town called Stanchfield with the population of about 40 people.

Well, I WAS living in a small city, in a rural area, but it just... grew too fast. There were cows behind where I live before, now it's full of houses.

I can't wait to actually get out of the city. :/

Well, I know a lot of bronies, and people here are usually very opened-minded about stuff like that.

<-Willow, AK. Geographically the largest unincorporated town in the US. About 3000 people, but spread out over more than 600 square miles. Downtown is the only clue it exists. I myself live in the middle of the woods on 120 acres.

I used to live in a little town called Moonta but I moved to Adelaide half way through 2013 in the Yorke Peninsula (which is at the bottom of South Australia) - not exactly remote, it resides in what is called "The Copper Triangle" which has 3 towns in in; Moonta, Kadina and Wallaroo.

The city (Adelaide) is about a 2 hour drive from there.

Moonta was a nice place... lots of trees, friendly residents, great school, and just overall awesome. A bit like Ponyville.

It was also a great historical place. It used to be a mining town.

Funny thing about me I was born and raised in the south. Father's side of my family are all southern too. But I do not have a southern accent nor do I look southern one bit... I do not like all of what southern people enjoy as well. I guess I am the odd one out in my family?! I live in the heart of NC if that tells you anything and my hometown was in Chattanooga, TN about as south as you can get. Being half puerto rican from my mom's side and irish/scottish... I am a mix of everything :P

I do enjoy fishing a ton though love it very relaxing. Oh and the food here in the south is the best :3. Other than that I am a complete oddball down here no one would guess I would be from here. Someone asked me if I was from england one time xD!

I live in a relatively small town of 20,000...used to be about quarter that 100 years ago. I'm up in Central Ontario. in a place called "The City Of Kawartha Lakes" which is made up of a bunch of rural towns., much like a county, but  we're"amalgamated" meaning we all have the same mayor and stuff like that. Before we were amalgamated, it was a county and it was called "Victoria County". My town specifically, used to ba a hub for grains and the like, we had a railway system that ran through the town up until about 1930-40s. Now all the tracks are torn upand wher ethe tracks were have been turned into trails linking cities and towns all across Canada. It's called "The Trans-Canada Rail Trail" My town is so small, I can ride my bike from one end to the other in 15-20 mins. My town is also older than Canada itself.

The closest city is 45mins away. My town JUST got a Target store this past year, and We've had a Wal-Mart in the works for 5-7 years now....I don't think it'll ever come around.

We've got Mennonites that travel through our town on a daily basis, there's also John Deere tractors that pass through the town on a regular basis carrying huge trailers of hay. So it's not unusual to see horses trotting down town pulling a buggy.

This is out back of a local hardware store.

WOW! With me it actually tends to kinda be the opposite! People have thought I was actually from a southern state a few times, guess I pick the southern twang up from some friends, and all the country music I listen to!

The base I'm stationed at now, though in Kansas, is right next to K State university, so it's a bit more populated and "cultured" so to speak. I do feel outta place when I go home though, as I'm originally from small town West Virginia (No, I don't date my cousin, and no I don't have an accent), though I don't consider myself "country" in the slightest. But yeah, I get some weird looks back home, not that it bothers me, haha XD

I've lived in  a town with a pop: 120 in the summer and once the snows hit could hit 60 people in the main town,  and 50 miles away from any thing you might call a city but even the city i grew up in was only 17,000 and thats not people living in the main town itself sadly.   Had the same number of churchs to bars also which i found freaking funny! (I won 20 bucks on thay bet I made with a friend..)

I'm not especially rural(I live in Iowa, in a county seat) but I'm a bit I have a bit of a redneck side and come from a really blue collar family. Both my parents spend a lot of time on farms and in trailer courts, and my Dad served for 17 years in the military starting right after Vietnam(he was stationed first in Kentucky, then in Ramstein, Germany). My stepdad is also a retired farmer.
