Terse Tranquility grew up in a rather unpopulated area near the Hayseed Swamps. Because of that, she and her family had largely been untouched by the power of the Government. However, one day the farm they lived on was discovered, and seized by the Government. Tranq and her family fled, but were separated. She was angry at the turn of events, and didn't want the Government to have control of her life. (I hope this part is okay, if not I can change it) She enrolled in school in her new city of (whatever it is to be assigned), because the Government was allowing ponies to become educated before joining the army.

 

She drew out her education as long as ponily possible, but eventually had to graduate. Her life long passion had been reading and writing, so she earned herself an English (Ponese?) degree, knowing it also wouldn't benefit the Government that much. She now feels adrift, because she's been unable to find her family, and is trying to stay out of the spotlight of the Government. She's angry not just because they've split up her family, but also because of what they are doing to Equestria. She's been secretly fighting them any way she can without being noticed, and is ready to join a radicalist group, just to stay out of the Governments clutches.

Could you tweak this part a slight bit? The Government wouldn't really allow someone to pursue education over armed forces, unless it worked to their favor in the end.

 

Other than that, I don't really have a problem with the backstory, the only other thing to work on is the starting location (which we'll all get to eventually)

During Vietnam, it was possible to avoid the draft, or defer being conscripted by being in school. It was seen as beneficial due to the fact that when you did finish your education, the government would then use your expertise when you got out.

By Tweak I meant more of a rewording than anything else. I understand the concept you're going for, but the way you put it, it seems like you're saying The Government gave you a choice in the matter.

Alright, I think that's everyone mentioned in one post.

 

 

If someone doesn't get accepted for the last spot by tomorrow, has offered to use two OC's. This will help get the roleplay started more quickly. Either way, expect the actual roleplay to be started sometime tomorrow afternoon.

Name: Paint Splatter

 

Age: 21

Cutie Mark: A paintbrush in a twister.

Personality: Outgoing and optimistic, she likes to believe that the Governments rule won't last forever. 

 

Backstory: Paint Splatter was born to a pegasus and a unicorn, but raised by her older sister as her parents were sent to work five months after her birth. Her father went to the army and her mother to the factory in another area. Her sister worked in a factory as well, but she was able to stay close to home so she could care for Paint Splatter. Because she was almost always alone, Paint Splatter amused herself by using various materials to make art. Her favorite game was to go outside behind her house, cover her wings in mud and then flap them rapidly until the mud splattered everywhere, making funny looking shapes all over the walls. Her sister saw her doing that one day, and the following night when she came home from work she had a small bucket of blue paint with her. She gave it to her sister, not telling her how she acquired it, but at the time Paint Splatter didn't think to ask. She covered her wings in it and did the same that she did with the mud, and covered the walls with beautiful artwork. When her sister managed to get her into the bath after that, they saw that she had gotten her cutie mark, a paintbrush in a twister. 

After that, Paint Splatter's sister kept bringing her sibling more paint and encouraging her sister to make art, until Paint Splatter reached the age in which she would be eligible to work. However, instead of working in the factory with her sister she was sent to a base on the edge of (starting place) where she was trained to become an army medic. Before she was sent off though, her sister gave her a locket with both of a lock of her hair in it, so she would never feel alone. (Is that okay?)

Backstory for Sense Flux:

Sense was born an odd filly; she never seemed to understand things like colours and shapes, and often referred to other objects by improper names. When they took her to a doctor, they discovered that she had synesthesia. Not only just one kind, but she literally confused ALL of her senses.

The local members of the Government knew that, with the right training, Flux could be a useful addition to their ranks, but her dreamy and rather stupid disposition caused them to ignore her. While ponies with disorders were usually considered weak, Flux had a fairly good life under her devoutly pro-Government parents.

However, something always felt missing from her life. As much as she was well-cared for and loved to the extent that anyone could love in this world, Flux knew she was different, and not only because of her mindset. She left home at the legal age of 18 and became a wanderer,something frowned upon by the Government, but she didn't really care. She takes up odd jobs, usually in restaurants.
