New MLP:FIM Spoilers Rule

I suggest a rule that prohibits anyone from posting any spoilers for an upcoming MLP:FIM season anywhere outside of spoiler-orientated threads unless the spoiler-tag features are used and specifically state that these spoiler-tags contain season 4 spoilers.

 

If anyone violates this rule, they will be dealt with by the site's moderators. The system should be flexible and reasonable. For instance, if someone simply posts a not-too-significant screenshot, they will just be given a certain amount of warning points. Another example, if someone posts anything that reveals a significant part of an episode's storyline, they will be banned for a day or so. Again, these are just examples. You get the point.

 

Everyone has one week to watch an episode after it has been originally aired. If someone hasn't watched the episode by the time that week is over, they may enter the site at their own risk.

 

Hopefully, this will help some people keep the experience of watching new MLP:FIM episodes as fresh and enjoyable as possible.

I was on another forum that used this exact same method and it worked well there having the "spoiler ban" I completely support this idea and agree it needs to be implemented.

+1 from me. It worked well on a different forum, not sure why it shouldn't work here. Especially that I barely ever have a chance to watch the stream in the first place.

I really don't care for the idea of criminalizing excitement for the subject the forum is about. Then again, you should understand that I, personally, have very limited sympathy for folks who expect there to be implemented ways of hiding spoilers when they hang out on a site that's inherently spoiler-savy. Ergo, if and when a more complex spoiler system is implemented (which I do agree with at its' base, I'm just cynical by nature </3), I'd be against warning points, let alone suspensions, being any part of it.

 

There was talk once upon a time of an actual built-in tagging or prefix system that would aid greatly in spoilering things which was super easy to do for people making those topics and posts, but, as our site swan song has and continues to be, we do not have the developer power to do all the lovely ideas we brainstorm in anything even remotely reminiscent of a time-worthy manner.

 

What we move onto is definitely something that should be discussed, for sure. Those are just my two initial bits.
