NOTE THIS MY OPINION and is MINE!! got it?

This is the problem with killing off Brian:

He was possibly the most likable character

His antics with Stewie were just pure gold to watch

His relationship with the other family members was really interesting/funny/touching

His dog tendencies taking over him from time to time never felt forced, they would always make me laugh

You really felt for him whether it was bonding with his son to unfortunately believing he had an important meet up with a "Special" group of people

Out of all the family members he was possibly the most developed, heck we knew his whole family.

As for the new dog, only time will tell if he can be as likable as Brian.

Anyone but Brian :( . He was actually one of the characters that people loved.

Plus I just don't feel good about the new dog vinny :okiedokielokie: .

I think we might have to prepare for Brian coming back. Fox wouldn't just kill off one of its best characters like that

But don't ge me wrong he might be dead for good

  • 2 weeks later...

To be honest I never like the show to begin with, but that dog was the only thing that caught my attention, as he was the only one I actually laughed at.

Now that he is killed off, I wonder if the show is even more pointless than it is now....

I would have been okay with it... Then the new dog came in.

He's a failed attempt at replacing Brian, and personally I think the show would've been better off not replacing him at all.

People should've expected it seeing as how the staff warned us before hand

Speaking if Brian, the Writers are already gonna bring him back....Next week

Like I said before, no surprise :P

episode opened with time travel, killed a main character (for the third time in the series) and will soon bring them back...

Its literally nothing new, why are people so quick to react?

I could careless Family Guy always sucked in my opinion the Simpsons were always the best. Family guy is just a ripoff and well I just don't like it.

I don't know anything of the show now except for some really old episodes from like season 1 but why would they get rid of Brian I will never know why....

Meh, not really into Family Guy like I use to be, but I do think it COULD possibly be interesting...

Wow, so I just watched the Brian death scene, and I gotta say, for family guy, it was actually pretty sad!

Dang, and Brian was one of the better characters too. The episode wasn't all that bad either, but I don't think Vinny will last, and on a show like Family Guy with time travel, flashbacks, and occasional supernatural elements, there's just no way Brian will be gone for good, I really would not worry about it honestly. :P

I think as far as this scenario goes, this would be like if MLP had killed off Spike. That one character that you either loved or couldn't stand.

(I'm a Spike fan and it pains for me to say that.)

Yeah, so I watched the latest episode and... they brought him back. Stewie found a version of himself coming to the future to buy a Christmas present, took his return device, and used it to go back and save Brian.

Man, what a fake out they did. This whole thing was pretty ballsy of FG if you ask me, and I'm glad Brian is back. Yeah, might seem to be a bit of a retcon at first, but if you ask me Vinny seemed to be a bit one-off anyway, and no doubt they planned it this way from the start. Could have fooled me anyway. :P

CALLED IT! :)

TBH given they do this at least once every couple seasons I can't believe people actually got worked up over it...

Was thinking it over more and rewatching the episode.

Given it was another time travel episode, and the car came out of nowhere...

Half bet the car was driven by either stewie or Brian, and Brian will return somewhere down the road explaining how the whole thing went down.

Or Maybe it was Vinny that had done it...

No idea tbh, but the whole situation boils down to sounding like a helluva joke, like when stewie killed lois and it turned out to just be a simulation.

Family Guy's sunk pretty low as of late, so I honestly care very little about any of the characters except, surprisingly, Meg. Brian fell from Peter's wisecracking BFF to a drunken, womanizing, atheistically preachy, would-be intellectual, hypocritical, extreme liberal douchebag. Frankly, I only tolerated him because he was a good comedic foil to Stewie.

That said, it seemed altogether pointless for them to kill him off considering anyone with a half a brain who still watches the show (guilty) knew he'd be brought back. And about 80% of us correctly guessed how - time machine. This is no more a shock than the fake-out episodes they did where Stewie finally killed Lois and took over the U.S., so...bleh.

...Sorry if I sound kinda aggro, there. I used to love Family Guy, but it seems to be getting more and more mean-spirited as time goes on. Who'd have thought that American Dad, which I'd originally derided as a cheap knockoff, would grow to be the superior show?

Wait, they brought Brian back? Well... Damn. I can't believe I wasn't expecting it for a show like SBB64 explained.

I'm somewhat glad they did, but I would've liked to see Vinny last longer for at least the end of the current season.

I don't really watch that show anymore (it's definitely a hard establishment program, more so than FiM) but I was interested to hear that they had killed off Brian because they really ruined that character in my opinion. I hope Quagmire's next to get run over (hopefully by a tank); he's such an ugly character in regards to personality. The worst in the show. But as far as animated programs go, Family Guy makes less sense than most children's cartoons. I had no real reason to think that their decision to remove Brian was going to be permanent.

Maybe everyone who wants to know should look at the upcoming episode list...

Yeah, Brian coming back was announced even before his death aired.  Posting his name in future episode titles kind of gives it away.  There was no impact to his death other than Brian wouldn't be in a couple episodes.

But killing Brian off was a stroke of genius because the average person doesn't Google the episode list.  Heck the only reason I looked was to see why Seth would kill his voice in the show.  Turns out he wouldn't.

As it gained about 800,000 viewers from that stunt, I think they accomplished everything they were hoping to do, so yeah, well played.
