technology Budget PC Build, your guy's opinion?

It's better to have the speed at base performance than over-clocking. Unless you have a beast of a cooling system it's going to run hot and have a much sorter lifespan than a chip that has the same clock-speed straight out of the box.

I doubt he'll even have to tweak the voltages to hit 3.8GHz on it. The only time beastly cooling system come into play is when you aim for the max OC. As long as you don't run at ridiculous voltages it'll last until the next upgrade.

I can neither confirm nor deny myself being the cause of electrical related malfunctions. Anyways, you wouldn't happen to have a jar of replacement magic smoke would you?

@@Shoboni,@@A Blithering Div,

It's staying at 3.4 Ghz, which is enough. No overclocking will I do with anything since I want my parts to last :3

As it's a new rig, I don't blame ya. But its really not as risky as people make it out to be. Production rigs however.... That's a different story.

As long as the CPU stays cool with an aftermarket cooler then it's fine. But i'm using the stock one until I save up money for it.

Heat is the enemy, but voltages are far, far more dangerous. Also, a coolermaster EVO is relatively cheap ($30 or so) and effective. When you go to get a cooler, be sure it fits in your case. When I had the EVO on my phenom I had to take a door fan off.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, the pretty much greatest CPU cooling ever :3

It was but from what I understand, Noctua takes the crown now adays, but at that price, spend a bit more and get a corsair Hydro series.

Hydro Series H55 is decent, maybe if I want I could also get the NZXT Kraken X40, since the X40 and X60 both are designed for NZXT Cases. And i've learned that it's very compatible with them and it's pretty sweet..~

Either way, just be sure it fits in the case or you may just have to do some impromptu case modding.

Yuppers :3

Also, what's your opinion on the case? I know it's USB 2.0 and stuff, but forget about that. Just about the design.

I've heard people say everything from hideous to nice.

I personally don't go for looks when it comes to a case. It uses 120mm fans which is good. It appears to have some room for some cable management which is good. I can't quite tell how much space there is between the drive bays and the back of the case though. There ought to be enough for a decent size graphics card but I can't quite tell. The dimensions put it at 18.9" deep so you should be alright. Looks like it'll have good airflow too so it looks alright to me.
