Does this ever annoy you?

So, let's just say you started a brand new topic, and then someone replies to that topic, and wen you reply back, everyone stops replying to that topic. Does this annoy you? Basically asking, does it annoy you when you reply to your own topic, it goes dead, sometimes.

Well, in my views...

Yes, it does usually annoy me, ESPEICALLY if the topic is brand new, say, like 10 or 15 minutes old.

That would be annoying. The point of these threads is to receive feed back to a question. Not just a final answer. It's something for all to to contribute to.

Topics come and go. Some depending on the time you post it may pick up and depending on what kind of a topic it is will depend whether or not people will participate.

I don't think that's happened to me, but what does annoy me is when I've made a topic and people all respond to it, and whatever I was asking about gets solved, then someone posts there weeks later trying to increase their post count, causing others to keep replying.

Sometimes it happens, this is a huge forum so sometimes things get missed. I have made topics that have really taken off and then went dead and someone makes a duplicate a few months or so later and the mods merge them or it goes dead and gets revived and some that didn't really go anywhere.

I just posted my first topic today and this happened! It was kind of annoying because it was a thread where I asked a question and I was hoping to generate more discussion from it and see what everyone's views are on the subject. But I only got two replies. I guess what I learned is that no one really cares about the subject of my topic.

That's what happens when I post art on here. Once I thank one or two for their feedback, everyone just stops replying. It's really annoying, because the thread would be 15 minutes or less old and it'd just die, so I wouldn't get the amount of feedback I want.

Not really. I hardly make any threads anyways. In fact, the only one I did make is the RWBY thread and that's somewhat inactive now (which is expected now the first season is finished). There's not really any contest over who can make the longest thread anyways.

It doesn't bother me a whole lot, I don't make topics as often as I used to, anyway, so there isn't a lot of opportunities for this type of thing to happen.

Yes, it does, and it's beyond me why, unless the OP is actually telling people in some way that they no longer need replies. Maybe that's what some are even assuming when they see the thread on the list and see the OP as the last poster.

I find it more embarrassing than I do annoying... As if it was me that killed the topic.

 

Although, I don't pay enough attention to notice if I was the last poster in a topic these days. lol

Basically my thoughts here in simple form. Then again though, if I respond to an art topic of mine, people might assume that it's final because I responded to all the feedback and they might think I don't want anymore. Which is quite silly. I'm always open to feedback. :3

While it has not happened to me yet, I would find it annoying if it did. I know I can pump out topics if I feel in the mood to, but if I were to respond and all of a sudden it went dead. I would blame myself and not respond to another topic of mine. Which is what I do for the most part.
