Detailed pony ratings (sort of)

I've posted a thread similar to this some 11 months ago, but after about 15 new episodes I'm wondering if people's opinions have changed.

 

Since I've said everything I needed to in the first thread, you can read it here:

I came up with a silly little idea to rate popular ponies. But in a more awesome way. You can rate them from 1 to 100 with up to two decimals. That way, if you like 2 ponies almost equally you can put their rating only 0.01 apart. In my opinion, this seems much better than just choosing which ponies you like more than others. I will also calculate the average rating of each pony and display it in this post.

 

In the last thread some people requested princesses, so I've added them. The rules haven't changed. I will do my best to update the results often (I'll be using Excel so it shouldn't be a problem).

Please don't add/remove any of the ponies you're supposed to be rating, I haven't added some for a reason (I'm lazy).

The most important thing is to try and have fun while doing this.

 

I'm doing this because I'm curious about people's opinions, so I'm not going to add my own ratings.

 

Lowest rating in each group will be Italic, highest rating in each group will be bold.

Overall highest and lowest ratings will be blue and red, respectively

 

Since some people were discussing how exactly the ratings should work, if you really want a rule set for that imo it should be: 100 = Favorite pony, <50 = Failing, and you can rate the characters you really hate with less than 50 (For example, a Rarity fan might rate Trixie with 0.01 for turning Rarity's mane green, or something like that), but I'll make a poll for it and see what happens.

 

All ponies that remain unrated in a post are given a default 50 for convenience's sake (would be counted as a 0 in Excel, and that would set the rating off by far too much).

I think a 1-100 scale is a little too complicated, especially with decimal points.  (how do I decide between giving a character a 68.3 and a 71.2?  Just giving them a 7/10 should be enough)

 

Plus not everyone's scale is going to be the same anyway.  I mean, is a 50 "average" (since it's the midpoint) or "failing" (since that would be an F on tests)?

 

But here are my ratings.  FWIW, I'm going with 50=failing, since it seems to be the most common:

Me thinks it's a personal preference scale, not literal.  How much you like the character, you know?

I rated them by personal preference. How much I like a certain character depends on how they look, how they act, their personality, their positive and negative sides, character development, etc.

 

For example, Pinkie Pie was awesome in season 1. In season 3, she sometimes felt like a random character they threw in there to appear every once in a while with exaggerated jokes. Therefore, her points goes down.

 

I rate them on a 0 - 100 scale, where 0 = "I hate this character" and 100 = "This character cannot get any better".

 

So kinda, yeah. 50 points is basically "OK"

I actually agree with your point, and personally I'd rather choose to rate them with a scale of 50=average, so you could really give the whole scale meaning.

 

But since the point of this thread is to try and come up with a consensus score, I think it's more important to be consistent and go with the standard most others are going with.  So yeah, I go with <60 equals failing, even though that's not how I'd personally score it.

 

You do make a good point about what it means to rate a character 100/100, but I just don't feel like changing my score at this point.

If we want to have a real consensus on this kind of thing, and define who really is the most popular, there should be a strict definition of what each level of scoring means.  I mean, is a 50/100 average, or failing?
