Sorry, this is a tad off topic, but Scarlett Letter, and Natalie the Mage, do you read the Rosario Vampire manga? I own all the volumes out myself, and it's a pretty damn good manga.

You should totally read the manga. It's so different from the show. Well, it starts out the same as the anime, but it changes. Tsukune can actually fight, and there is a huge amount of action. It switches from a fanservice manga, to an action one. Also there's a giant freaking vampire demon thing. We also get to see Moka's past, and see that she has more than one sister. Sorry, I'm fanboying.

 

Anyways, It's a pretty good manga.

Anyway, I don't know that I've watched enough anime to form a great top 10 list. But I'll list my 5 favorites

 

1. Winry Rockbell--FMA is my favorite anime. Naturally, Winry goes at the top of this list. Hands down. And it's not just that. Winry is Ed and Al's support system. She honestly and legitimately cares about more than anyone else in the show. And since I love Ed and Al so much, I just have to love Winry as well. Not to mention that she's super adorable. That's always a plus!

2. Kagome Higurashi--she was my waifu when I was like...12. And I loved InuYasha when I was a kid. Still enjoy the show today. 

3. Sakura Haruno--although I never watched a whole lot of Naruto, I liked her a lot. Don't know why. 

4. Rukia Kuchiki--Her drawings suck. And I've always appreciated the chemistry between her and Ichigo.

5. Bulma--There were just too many enjoyable pervy scenes with Bulma that you have to laugh at. Especially Kid Goku's "Hey! Where do you put your balls?!"

1. Winry Rockbell--FMA is my favorite anime. Naturally, Winry goes at the top of this list. Hands down. And it's not just that. Winry is Ed and Al's support system. She honestly and legitimately cares about more than anyone else in the show. And since I love Ed and Al so much, I just have to love Winry as well. Not to mention that she's super adorable. That's always a plus!

Coming up with a list of ten may, in fact, be quite difficult for me despite my love of anime since I'm rather old school and on top of that, can make a pretty heavy argument for and against all of them that would probably get me flagged for flooding. But, we'll give it the old college try, eh? I think I can easily squeeze out five.

 

1. Hayasaka Yukari (Caroline) - Paradise Kiss. Initially swept along simply by expectations, she explores a strange new world of possibilities, and by the end of the series comes to terms that while continuing down the path she's on now will bring ruin, she didn't regret it one bit as the cast part ways.
2. Motoko Kusanagi - Ghost in the Shell. The idealized badass. What I particularly like about her is how her flaws are intertwined with her badass nature. She has a burning need to shoulder the heaviest of burdens out of a sense that if she doesn't... She's somehow less human.

Out of all the things, I'd like to point out most that I like her in this version not solely because of her character dynamic, but she specifically refused to forgive Scar when he asked for it. Now, before you say anything, the reason I like this isn't because she refused to forgive him, but that she explicitly allowed him the right to seek atonement regardless of whether he'd get it or not.
4. Lady Eboshi - Princess Mononoke. She took in the sick and dying, the weak, and prostitutes. She gave them a home, a means of living and cared for them enough that she was willing to slay a god for them. Nothing more needs to be said.
5. Yukari-sensei's class - Azumanga Daioh. Yes. The whole class. High school girls are weird.

I love anime and there are a lot of amazing female characters (I actually prefer them). Now, I don't think I have the ability to list these badass characters, but I will name them.

 

Homura Akemi(Puella Magi Madoka Magica): Homura is a very silent and mysterious character. Done! Love her!!! But there's a lot more to her than that. At the start of the show she seems to be antagonizing to our lead character. Later it becomes apparent she has a motive a reason for doing the things she does, we don't know what but it's good enough to keep us interested. After another couple episodes we see her her as a great ally and even better friend. I won't say how, but lets just say the revelation is breathtaking, mindblowing. The words to describe her are: silent, badass.

 

Kyoko Sakura(Puella Magi Madoka Magica): Kyoko is damn straight an antagonist from the beggining. We see her 3 episodes in, and she is most certainly a villain. The second Sayaka and her meet the immediately fight...to the death. I won't spoil any of the show, but Kyoko is the bad girl, and her objective is not likeable. In a later time we see she is willing to act cool with her, she offers Sayaka assistance in a situation, and her solution to it is very sinister and dark. We move on from that and she begins to be more humanized to us. She is informed of something she had no idea of, and it smacks her in the face. She didn't see it coming and she's not sure what to believe.Nonetheless those makes her start to have a friendship with Sayaka. After a couple episodes she is caring and still mad, but her heart is in the right place. Words to describe her are: aggressive, uncooperative(later) aggressive, caring, loyal.

 

Tsubaki (Soul Eater): She is my favorite character in the show. She is sweet, patient with her partner as weapon to her weapon miester. (Black Star, her master, is a real pain n the ass) She is caring for her friends. Now, when in battle, she's a whole different story. She's badass, she is a huge threat to her enemies. She is loyal and sweet, those are the words to describe her.

 

Moka (Rosario+Vampire): Okay, I enjoyed this show alright. Sure it had a litt...a LOT of fan service, but it was still a funny, intense, action-packed romantic comedy. Moka is really caring to everyone, especially her love interest; Tskunei(that how you spell it?) She turn out to be the most fearsome and dangerous monster(vampire in her case) at her school. She was just a really likeable character in the show. Words for her are: sweet, loving, fearsome.

 

Mizore (Rosario+Vampire): She's my favorite character in the show. She is mysterious, quiet, and likes to spy on people. Wierdo, huh? Yeah, but I love her. She is always appearing in the strangest places, she also really knows how to fight! She's a total badass in terms of looks and skills. Words are: strange, loving, sweet, powerful.

 

Holo; the Wolf Godess (Spice and Wolf) Holo is a godess, so she is quite menacing in her true form...but, we know her best in her human form, a cute young girl with a long tail and ears (which she usually has to keep hidden) She travels with her partner Lawrence, a merchant. She has a love interest with him, but let's not get too into the story of the show, and more into her (no pun intended) Holo is really playful, and is often pondering about the human world. She is curious, and playful. She usually gets her way. She knows she is superior to all since she is a god, of course. Holo is one of the greatest female characters I've seen in any anime...ever. Words to describe her are: playful, curious, ruling, and caring.

 

These have been a couple of great female anime characters. I'm sure I've left out a million memorable female leads, so, I'll try to post more later on. For now, it's late and I've got to go to bed. See ya soon!!!! ;3
