I'm not big into new anime. These are my favorites from my childhood

Misty - Pokemon (loved her so much, in 1st grade I stole an action figure of her from the school o.o) I relate to her so much, my number one. :')

img-2136680-1-7ebe7f60014e9169dcd9187960

Duplica - Pokemon. She was so cute and sweet. Her imitation skills made her fun and she loves her Ditto :)

img-2136680-2-72aace4ec63ba698dd2fc50520

Haruko - FLCL. She was crazy and entertaining. Her relationship with Naota was cute too. I used to pretend to be her as a kid.

img-2136680-3-68e2f29f51cb69daa0e22aa1e4

Sailor Jupiter/Lita - Sailor Moon. She was a tomboy, therefore I loved her. A good, strong character.

img-2136680-4-82d5a9b277281d0559b4c1460b

Sailor Moon. I was her for Halloween. She matured so much in the series. I loved it.

img-2136680-5-72456dae4835e9c2c4febbd740

Ouka - .Hack. Omg I had such a girl crush on her as a kid. I loved everything about her. :)

img-2136680-6-2bdb3b0d404a93848deac53cf2

Sango - Inyuasha. So much cooler than any other Inuyasha girl. Nuff said.

img-2136680-7-06560bb0c0672f11e59a08b35a

Winry - FMA.  Smart, beautiful character. What's not to love?

img-2136680-8-19461dc4635b1201fb2e079a94

Teen Bulma - Dragon Ball. Loved her. She was a bit ...slutty at times but it worked haha

img-2136680-9-002f321a58d5ef20f28b056d13

Flannery - Pokemon. Love her design

Top Ten Anime girls,  I'm too lazy for Ten so I'll hit it up with five"

1.Hana  (The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki)  A young mother who is left to raise to kids with wolf blood in them by herself and to protect them and let them choose to live as human and wolf.  Seeing how much she fights,  does what she can to keep them safe but also let her kids test their own feet in the world hit a soft note for myself in the strong soul Hana is in being just a normal single mother.

2. Makoto (Lita) Kino/Sailor Jupiter (Sailor Moon)  Something bout Lita even in the bad english dub just hit me on the head in the loyalty she shows to her friends and just stand out strength at times.   Also having lost her parents is left by herself to raise herself which is the only one out of the girls to do and maybe knows more on the day to day world.

3.Erin (Kemono no Souja Erin) The thing I loved about this was how hard Erin tired and stuck to the true moral of who she is,   even after loosing her hand by her friend in a way does not blame him at all and does she can to protect the animals she has come to love.

4.Kaoru (R.Kenshin) Not the soft time of woman you might find in tokyo like a flouting pedal in the winds,  but more of a akwards in times,  can kick a man's butt with a kendo stick and goes more than out of her way for her friends and standing next to Kenshin in now matter how he fights or what happens.

5.Orihime Inoue (Bleach)  Yes she is not of a fighter but as the main healer,  the burden she has to bear  in watching her friends fight and bleed while on the side lines.   Out of any  of the bleach girls,   I think Inoue  has sacrifice the most in any of the bleach cannons in her choices and has found her own way to fight and stand out.

Kyoko Sakura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)-

What to say about Kyoko. She’s got a gorgeous design, a lovable personality, and in spite of going through some truly awful things, she was able to still come through and be something of a hero. When she was introduced, I’ll admit it had me wondering how she was as popular as she seemed to be, but only a few episodes later I understood all too well. A very lovable girl, even if she’s very rough around the edges.

post-8039-0-74302000-1387772231_thumb.png

Sayaka Miki (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)-

Sayaka seems to be a somewhat divisive character among a lot of Madoka fans, but I’ll always really enjoy her and count her among my favorite characters in anything. She was not the perfect person she wanted to be, but she was an extremely great one and a much better friend and magical girl than she ever gave herself credit for. The movie only improved her, and showed her dedication and loyalty to doing the right thing and standing up for the people around her.

post-8039-0-32780200-1387772202_thumb.jpg

Akemi Homura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)-

My opinion of Homura has bounced all over the place as time’s gone on, but whether or not she’s doing right or wrong, she’s one of the toughest characters I’ve ever seen. Homura’s given me the chance to see an insane amount of resourcefulness, dedication, and made me think quite a bit as well. She’s even cute.

post-8039-0-66555200-1387772180_thumb.jpg

Kaname Madoka (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)-

Kind of harder to elaborate on why I like Madoka without spoiling things, but I’ll just leave it as her having an impossibly good heart.

post-8039-0-71507200-1387772153_thumb.png

Misty (Pokemon)-

I’m sure there’s a lot of nostalgia at work here, but Misty was one of the first anime characters I really grew to like, and her kindness, determination, temper, attitude, hatred of bugs, everything about her has really stuck with me over time.

post-8039-0-67544400-1387772132.png

Mami Tomoe (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)-

Yup, another Madoka character. I was pretty suspicious of her at first, but she eventually turned out to be just as incredible of a person as she appeared to be. It took reading the manga to make me appreciate her as much as I do, but overall she, her determination to do the right thing even when nobody else is, and her springy hair have made her very memorable.

post-8039-0-33776100-1387772106.png

Nami (One Piece)-

Another girl who is really spunky, fed up with the bull of the people around her, and is just an all-around really fun character who is a lot more than she seems to be initially. The arc that focused on her was one of my absolute favorites and she's been a big part of making One Piece so great ever since.

post-8039-0-01006500-1387772062_thumb.png

Yuri Nakamura (Angel Beats!)-

My opinion of Yuri has also kinda bounced all over the place. At first I liked her and thought she was quirky and fun, but then slowly over time she kinda dipped down under my radar as other characters stole the spotlight. But man did she win me back in the end. A great leader and a very determined girl who has more than proven her love for her team.

post-8039-0-44283300-1387771678_thumb.jpg

Aoi Asahina (Dangan Ronpa)-

I wasn’t sure whether to include her or not, since I haven’t seen much of the Dangan Ronpa anime and most of my liking of her comes from reading the Lets Play of the game, but since I included Nami earlier and I haven’t seen much of the One Piece anime either, whatever. Asahina’s a pretty quirky and odd girl, but also one with a lot of grit and one with a very good heart as well.

post-8039-0-21100000-1387771633_thumb.png

Kanade Tachibana (Angel Beats!)-

I’d probably have enjoyed her more if the series had been as long as it was intended to be, but her awkwardness, kindness and even weird sense of humor won me over quickly anyway :)

I had to hide some posts in this thread for being off-topic. If you wish to participate in the thread, do so properly, but trying to derail it isn't very nice.

Well, ya know, in the original topic question it did say "Anime Girls". The first impression I get from the word "Anime" is Animation or Animated, so first thing that came to my mind was the great show "King of the Hill" which happens to be a animated show and contains characters who happen to be girls. Therefore, I thought "well shoot, I know the perfect thing to add to this topic, folks" My favorite animated girl from my favorite animated show.

So, really, being on how vague the description in the original topic post was, I believe I and the others were in qualifications for this post.

i want to watch madoka magica so bad

It's not too long, and you can watch it for free online on sites like Crunchyroll :). If you have time on a weekend or something, I promise it'll be worth your while.

Snip

Snippety snip

I was worried that mine would be the only list that was dominated by magical girls . If I hadn't seen PMMM, making my list would've been so much harder.

i love kanade, i cried at the ending of angel beats and i love yui and iwasawa, and i love silica! i want to watch madoka magica so bad

Yeeah!!!! It's an amazing anime! I would recommend anime websites like animefreak.com for watching, it's very easy to find. Now, I usually use Hulu Plus, which continues to amaze me by their selection of great anime, it's $8 per month, but starts with a free trial. I think it has a better selection than CrunchyRoll, but I don't have it, so I can't be sure. I've watched most of my anime on Hulu Plus.

Okay continued from before...

Let's see here...

King Arturia (Saber) from Fate/Zero

I haven't watched this anime in awhile, but I know very well it's an amazing anime. Saber is my favorite character in the show, so, In the Middle Ages, King Arthur was actually female, but was concealed of gender, because they would not have approved of their ruler. Now, Saber is very honorable, and noble; probably her best traits. She has been summoned be her master in modern times to fight in the Holy Grail war. She wants to rebuild her kingdom after she led it to ruin. That is her goal, and I love her character, she's just so honorable, and not to mention extremely skilled in combat, and has the ability to ride any vehicle, whether it's a horse, to an expensive sports car to a badass Harley. Saber is one of my favorite anime characters from one of my favorite animes of all time.

Shana from Shakugan No Shana

Shana...is f***ing adorable...yet, at the same time, a cold, calculated Flame Haze, hunter of Denizens. (watch the show, for realz) She starts to open up a few episodes in. Yuji, her love interest(our main protagonist) is the main reason she opens up and expresses her true feelings. Did I mention she's badass; she wields a legendary Katana called Shana. (Yuji, sees she has no name, simply Flame Haze, so he gives her a name, Shana)Her hair is black, and eye's normal, but when she transforms to Flame Haze, her whole body turns to flames, and her hair is red, she also has the ability to conjure flame wings, which allow her to soar through the sky. Again, she is f***ing adorable, one of my favorite quotes is her telling Yuji to shut up, which she does often. "URUSAI, URUSAI, URUSAI!!!!!" The best words to describe her are adorable, badass, aggressive, and kind.

Anime is animation, that specifically comes from Japan. "King of the Hill" is not from Japan, so it's still off-topic. Every other poster managed to make that distinction.

You missed my point (I'll get to why farther down here). I was saying that "Anime" could be taken for a shorted version of the word "Animation". Especially since someone like me is rather shut down from society and possibly never has heard of this "Japanese animation" known as "Anime". That way, my first impression may have been that "Anime" is short for "Animation".

I am obviously not your everyday poster here on the forums, and vague topic descriptions that may be taken in other forms could result in issues. You know, considering loopholes and whatnot, one who may not know of "Anime" in your definition, may possibly have this issue such as I just did.

Even if this wasn't the case, just because everyone else who posted can figure things out, doesn't mean everyone who comes across the post will be able to. And if it is that person's thinking, you can't really consider it off-topic. And the fact that there wasn't exact specification, I can't see a reason why I would be in the wrong for this based on said explanation on the situation. Until you definition, I may have been completely unsure what the true definition of "anime" is.

Not knowing the distinction between anime and animation in general at the time of posting does not make the post any less off-topic, any more than not knowing an action is a crime can protect you from being punished for committing it. The topic was not vague, your understanding of it was incorrect. "King of the Hill" is not anime, so your post did not serve the purpose of the thread. I maintain that every post I hid was off-topic. If that still does not satisfy you, then you need to open a moderation dispute via support ticket.

1.  Rin Tohsaka  (Fate/Stay Night, Fate/Zero, Fate/Kaleid Iiner Prisma Illya, Fate/Hollow Ataraxia):

Rin Tohsaka is my waifu. I have a poster of her hanging up on my wall and my iPod is loaded with pictures of her. Not only is she drop-dead gorgeous, but she's competent as well. She can take care of herself. I like that. I like that alot. In addition, she's intelligent. She has street smarts and book smarts. Quite an impressive girl if you ask me.

Oh, and did I mention that she's hot?

tohsaka_rin_by_zaydo-d5lvxf6.png

2.  Asuka Langley Soryu (Neon Genesis Evangelion):

Asuka is a peculiar character. Neon Genesis Evangelion does an incredible job at conveying this to viewers. Like most characters in the series, she displays certain emotions to cover up her innermost feelings. Asuka fits the "tsundere" model and takes things one step further; she's almost impossible to deal with. But her back story is impressive, and she's very strong in her own right. She resonated with me for whatever reason, and for that, she deserves the #2 spot on this list.

AsukaLangleySoryu.png

3.  Sena Kashiwazaki  (Boku wa Tomadachi ga Sukanai):

Sure, Sena's pretentious and airheaded. All rich girls in anime are. But she's also very likeable. She manages to come off as sweet and kind despite having a rough exterior. She and I share similar hobbies, and for that alone, she deserves a high rankin on this list.

Design-wise, she looks beautiful. Butterfly hairclips, long blonde hair, and gorgeous curves? And those lips guys, just perfect. Just perfect.

Mazui_Boku_Ha_Tomodachi_Ga_Sukunai_NEXT_

4.  Clare (Claymore):

Clare is an inspiration. She's humble, quiet, and caring. In an action anime, the caring trait is especially hard to pull off. But damn, she does it, and she does it well. She never gives up hope either. She's really quite something.

Clare_anime_4.png

5.  Naoe Kanetsugu (Hyakka Ryouran:  Samurai Girls):

Naoe deserves a spot because she is absolutely hilarious. She never fails to bring a smile to my lips. Her character is for character relief, and the animator's do so to the fullest extent of the word. She single-handedly saved Samurai Girls from mediocrity, in my opinion.

Naoe.Kanetsugu.%28Hyakka.Ryouran%29.full

6.  Cecilia Alcott (IS:  Infinite Stratos 1+2):

Cecilia is a slut. I'm not afraid to admit that. But she is just so incredibly good at it that I have to give her props. It seems odd that I'd do something like that, but she just works for whatever reason.

Character design-wise, she also gets a nod. I lover her cute little blue headband, and she has some great taste in swimwear.

11706355.jpg?t=1305492435

7.  Akeno Himejima (Highschool DxD, Highschool DxD New):

Akeno is an interesting character to say the least. She's quite cunning and capable. She can hold her own in a fight, whether mental or physical. But goddamn, she's hot as fuck. And that's really the reason for her being in this list.

high_school_dxd___akeno_himejima_by_xalm

8.  Meiya Mitsurugi (Muv Luv Extra, Muv Luv Unlimited, Muv Luv Alternative)

Meiya is like a member of an older generation: she's been through a lot and has plenty of advice to offer. If any of you have played Muv-Luv Alternative, you know what I mean. She's a true friend.

In Extra and Unlimited, she is as much of a true lover as a true friend. Trust me, she is excellent in the very definition of the word.

Mitsurugi.Meiya.full.1116445.jpg

9.  Homura Akemi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica):

Up until the third movie, she is a true friend. She loves Madoka. She loves her so much that she witnesses pain, destruction, and loss over and over again. And it's all for Madoka to be happy. There is not a better girl in the series in terms of friendship.

Homura_Akemi.jpg

10.  Haruka Morishima (Amagami SS, Amagami SS+):

She's a blast to watch. She's airheaded, but she's still smart. She loves cute things. She has gorgeous curls. She has a great figure.

Whichever way you look at it, she's a lovely character.
