Dark Qiviut 22,393 May 28, 2014 Share May 28, 2014 I've heard about this site since it was featured on EQD last year. It has a very poor reception because you have to pay money for various features such as private messages. BronyMate is run as a cash-grabbing scheme instead of a reputable dating site. Wade Barrett 111 May 28, 2014 Share May 28, 2014 Every mainstream dating site requires payment for basic goddamn features. I can name two mainstream sites instantly (eHarmony and Match) who charge extortionate amounts for a monthly subscription because, without the paid features, you may as well just take a good photo of yourself, put it on a Wanted poster in your town with your phone number and pray for a response. Damn near every dating site requires money just to message people and I know eHarmony requires money TO VIEW FUCKING PHOTOS. They make it come across as if dating sites are a revolution and that, the moment you sign up to one, your arms will be filled with beautiful guys or girls (In my case, guys AND girls. One can dream, eh?) who will message you incessantly and you will find love in a month. The reality is that you'll be lucky if you get messaged maybe once or twice for the length of your subscription. Just read up some customer reviews for eHarmony: For every good review, there'll be five reviews saying how extortionate it is and how feeble it is. You may as well go down your local club/pub/nightclub/opium den and try and find your true love there. This site seems like yet another smash and grab. Trust me: Bronies WILL part with their money, and this is exploiting the hell out of that. Why would you pay for it when you could go to a meet and actually try on your charm or social skills without hemorrhaging money? 2 "It is a Yorkshire habit to say what you think with blunt frankness." - Frances Hodgson Burnett THEY CALLED ME THE BIG FELLAH. Iamp 7 May 28, 2014 Share May 28, 2014 Well i guess on the Internet there is everything for anything(if that makes sense). Kinda curious on if its an actual brony running the website or just someone looking for money.

null123456 759 May 28, 2014 Share May 28, 2014 Meh, you guys can all date Bronies. But I'm gettin' down and dirty on FarmersOnly.com, the dating site for Farmers ONLY! Seriously though, this looks neat. But considering it's paid that's a lil bit lame.

A whole lot of people in this fandom are male, and I don't think I'd be exaggerating to say that a lot of them are heterosexual. Wonder what the prospects are like on this site. Starflower 323 May 29, 2014 Share May 29, 2014 Huh, coincidentally their twitter account just followed me a little while ago. Although a dating site for bronies is a neat idea and it allows bronies to mingle and all, I don't really have a need to join. I'm already dating a brony. xD It's actually a paid site? Welp. Treble Bolt 1,122 May 29, 2014 Share May 29, 2014 Dating sites in general are silly in my opinion....Having a Brony specific dating site (like many dating sites out there) really miss the points on what a real relationship is built from. Sadly, many of the commercials you hear about regarding people who met on a dating site, and then later got married have a near 100% chance of divorce within 5 years.....It's a sad, silly, and very selfish concept right from the beginning. 1 "In fire iron is born, by fire it is tamed"
Envy 6,160 May 29, 2014 Share May 29, 2014 Dating sites? Ew. Brony dating site? Double ew. I've never even thought of using a dating site, even though I'm very lonely. I just feel like that's an inadequate way to make a connection. In addition, as Treble Bolt said, you're really starting off the wrong way if you're looking for somebody that has this particular interest. Shared interests are important, but I don't think actively going out and finding somebody with them (especially a specific interest, like being a 'Brony') is in anybody's best interest. But I could just be naive in assuming that love is something that comes naturally. 1 Everything needs more woodwind!

Old_Gray_Mare 8 May 30, 2014 Share May 30, 2014 As for those of you looking for romance, trust me when I say this, the internet isn't the best way to find your special someone. It's a pretty decent way, but I imagine the success rate is much lower when you're talking about sites *specific* to romance. As in "real" life, romance works better when you aren't looking so hard for it. Better to find someone with interests in common on a site with less pressure and posturing. (Married twenty-two years and change to a guy I met on a dial-up bulletin board (look it up, kids!), long before "online dating" was a thing. OTOH, my sister has been married for some years to a guy she met on an online dating site. So even that does work out pretty well sometimes.)
Codelyy 1,286 September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 I had a look at the site to see what it was like and unless your willing to pay at least $3 to read a message from someone. Then there no point in using it. And yes... you need to pay $3 to read messages... for only a 3 day membership Thank you Cherribomb for the Signature! https://twitter.com/Codelyy
Jeric 46,851 September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 As in "real" life, romance works better when you aren't looking so hard for it. I completely agree here. Hell, I met my wife years before we dated and it just fell into place, I wasn't looking at all. I also agree that online relationships can become fulfilling IRL ones. I have two close friends that this happened to.
Guest September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 If I recall, the people that made BronyMate were confirmed some time ago as scam artists. They apparently make sites like this based upon popular media at the time and use fake accounts to give you the illusion that people are legitimately interested in you. They have a business off of taking advantage of lonely men.
Overdrive 5,366 September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 I'll be honest: I use the site. I get that I'm really stupid for paying to use it, but as much as most of it is bad, there are SOME actual people on there looking for the same thing: friends, relationships, and so on and so forth. I've actually talked with a few young ladies on there that I'm interested in, and I even have a date with one of them this weekend. To me, it's a risk vs. reward type of thing. There is A LOT of risk associated with it, but if you can navigate it right, and play your cards right, there's reward to it. "I'd rather trust and regret, than doubt and regret." No forum or community too but for a site to be a brony dating site, they should've not locked messages out with premium. At this point PonyCrush is somewhat a new dating site is far better than that dating site. If someone is looking or seeking for another to chat, they should chat at no cost. Paying to read messages.....I can't believe it even though I seen it. I hope PonyCrush don't take that route in the future.

Surprise 1,003 September 10, 2015 Share September 10, 2015 (edited) It's a scam that uses bots to get your money, don't use it. Don't worry. I think I haven't use my account there since last year or two. Paying to read messages was pretty scammy to me but luckily what they do with that got me to leave the site in a disgustful look. My question if anyone knows it but did the person that came up with that site and added bots and such, are they even bronies? Haters? or a mixed? I'll feel shameful if it's the former.
