The Mane Six:Antagonist Versions of Themselves?

I have recently noticed that 3 characters have a 'Antagonist Self'.Twilight has Trixie,RD has Lightning Dust,and Rarity has Suri.The thing about those Antagonists is that they almost are the opposites of their elements of harmony.Trixie was into the "I don't need friends" thing.Lightning Dust was completly aware of other people in danger,but ignored it. Suri...She basiclly stole Raritys fashion line.Do you think that all of the Mane 6 might get an antagonist similar to themselves?Do you think it would make for a good plot? I'm kind of on both sides for this.I think they make good episodes with them but at the same time it feels weird.What are yout opinions?

or is she gonna go back to taking advantage of the next chump she gets her hooks into?

Now that you mention it... Yeah. That is a bit interesting. I never really noticed. You may be onto something.

Applejack is next..I van feel it.There were the Flim Flam bros but I don't think they count since they just seemed mean to be mean.Fluttershy makes a new friend who loves animals and whatnot,but has a hatred for her friends and is quite cruel.Therefore being a similar opposite.

I don't consider Trixie to be Twilight's opposite. She's too ineffective and petty to be an antagonist antagonist without the amulet thing. Sunset Shimmer fits that bill much better.

 

I thought for sure that Pinkie's arch nemesis or whatever was gonna be the party-planner opposite her in "Pinkie Pride" but it's impossible for Weird Al to be unlikable. Actually, scratch that, he should totally play a straight-up villain because that'd be hilarious.

 

I like the idea, though I think we come dangerously close to the whole "Elements of Disharmony" idea, which never seemed interesting to me at all.

Rares had Suri Polobitch, whom, is my new worst pony.

 

RD had Lightning Dust.

 

Twilight had Trixie, although @@CITRUS KING46 makes a good point about Sunset Shimmer, so now I dunno

 

Would AJ's be Flim and Flam? I dunno.

 

Regardless, it'd be not only interesting, but fun to see that happen

I agree with this, and was thinking of it the other night.

Although, I feel like these antagonists aren't really opposites of the characters, but rather their insincere counterparts.

 

Trixie is all about Magic, but the "fake" performance magic. She is into showmanship and showing off, whereas Twilight (who has much more powerful magic) uses it subtly for positive causes.

Lightening Dust is loyal to RD it seems, and to her passion. So I would not say she is the opposite of Loyality (She didn't have to be loyal to the main chacaters I feel - she had nothing invested in them) She was into being the best, much like RD. She was just more rude and arrogant about it.

Suri is the only one of the three I can see to be the "opposite" - but at that, she wasn't greedy, just conniving.

 

All of these antagonists have on thing in common: Arrogance. They are more selfish/self centered and for the most part, only think of themselves. I wouldn't call them evil or opposites, but surely they are the negatives of their mane 6 counterparts.

I am excited to see what will happen with the other 3. I don't feel like Flim and Flam/Gilda represent the same roles that Suri/LD/Trixie do.

 

As someone else stated, Weird Al pony might be Pinkie's negative and I can easily see it - someone who makes people laugh to gain popularity rather than the idea of making others happy (and in the process, possibly making others feel bad by making them the butt of jokes perhaps)

 

For Fluttershy, I could see someone who is kind possibly in a passive-aggressive way (I scratched your back now you scratch mine)

And for Applejack, someone who is brutally honest in hurtful ways

 

I don't know that they will actually get foils, but it would be neat if they do.It seems the purpose of the foils is to have the main character see her element in a new way. What better way to do this than with those who challenge them and their elements/talents

Rainbow Dash has Lightning Dust, Rarity has Suri Polomare, Twilight has Sunset Shimmer, AJ would have Flim and Flim, Pinkie Pie could probably have a pony who likes to throw ponies more than she does to try to make her jealous, Fluttershy could have Iron Will.

 

Just a guess, anyway.
