Any one remember witches in g1?

I'm so happy you made this topic. These characters are great.

 

Hidea, Draggle, and Reeka were - in my opinion - the saving grace and absolute best part of My Little Pony: The Movie. The film's ponies (Lickety Split in particular) were rather flat, unmemorable characters. The witches - on the other hand - had some real personality, and believable family interaction.

 

Sure, Hidea was a card-carrying villain, but I got the impression that deep down, she did genuinely love her daughters. Draggle and Reeka get their own subplot, wherein they hunt down secret ingredients for the deadly Smooze, and I found it to be the most engaging part of the story. They bicker, but seem to still care for each other, and aren't quite as into the whole "villain" thing as their mom.

 

These three honestly stole the entire show for me, and made an otherwise forgettable film a lot of fun.

Yea what can remember from my childhood is i saw this three, and also that song sing when need advice from there family descent too. But still trying remember song name of when dos blob like thing appears. Can hardly even remember what they sing as they swallow all of pony land in there goow.

Man i first saw My Little Pony the Movie when

i was like 9 and watched like it a priest reads

the Bible that summer!   It was bright and had

flying ponies and unicorns and magic

and also the songs and those Three Witches but

also the Flutter-ponies but the Witches now

when i rewatched were for the win for me

as i got older a bit and could see how

evil but family centered they are!

Yep, I remember them very clearly. They were definitely some of the more memorable characters in the first generation of My Little Pony, especially since I can remember them, but not the actual ponies.

You're thinking of the 10-episode miniseries "The End of Flutter Valley" that officially opened the My Little Pony n' Friends TV series. According to what I've been able to piece together it was going to be a sequel to the movie, but the movie didn't do well enough in theatres to justify doing another theatre release. They already had enough of it done that that they didn't want to trash it, and direct-to-video sequels wasn't a 'thing' yet, so they chopped it into smaller pieces and used it to open the TV series.
