gaming The Last of Us, Is it Good?

There has been a discussion between my friends at school about The Last of Us. Myself and my other friend love the game, and my two other friends despise it. This put me in the right mindset to play it again and I still loved it. So, what do you think of the game, Is it a godsend from Naughty Dog or an absoulute disaster?

I really enjoyed it, and the majority of my friends did as well.

Take me out, to the black. Tell my ma I ain't coming back. Burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me."

If you remove the story from The Last of Us, then it's just a generic zombie game. Think about that.

Most of the gameplay is hand-holding. The graphics, while great for such ancient hardware, pale in comparison to what's coming out today. 30FPS is bad for any kind of shooter, especially when it drops below 15 - that's unacceptable. Pretty much the only thing it has really going for it is the story - and if you remove that you get a generic zombie game with a bad frame rate.

It is not a game I really consider to be a "must-have", but rather overrated.

TBH.. horrible GFX aside (even for its time and that console I still think it looks terrible. Its 720p resolution, low FPS, and just washed out all over)

The story is really decent and engaging.

I like it anyways.

It could've been a LOT more if the gameplay wasn't so generic. But its story definitely holds it together well enough IMO.. Though I don't know about the MP.

If you're looking for a good story in a video game, go to the Last of Us. The story plays with your feelings in a way similar to the Walking Dead game.

Though, unfortunately, it suffers from the same handicap that the Walking Dead game suffers from. If you took the story out of the game, you don't have anything new or innovative. You could just slap "Generic Zombie Shooter" on the box and then you'd have the game summed up without the story.

Honestly everyone else has said it but it's true. The story is great but if you subtract that you just have a generic zombie spunkgargleweewee shooter story. And it's still a pretty 'meh' game aside from the story. I didn't enjoy the MP seeing as it was kinda boring.

I absolutely LOVE that game. In my honest opinion, I feel it is one of the best games ever made.

The gameplay is a little laggy at some points.(unless you are playing as ellie. She is awesome at running, etc.)

But besides that, I loved it. It has a nice and engaging plot that always has you entertaied. (I played it last summer with my dad)

The graphics are really nice too.

I think that it is a great game and totally worth the time if you can find it.

The clickers man, those freaking clickers! They are probably the hardest enemy in the game besides the ones that run at you at fast speeds.

I wouldn't say it is as generic as what others are saying. It's gameplay does involve many parts where you are facing humans and have to run away from things rather than fighting them. I have yet to see a zombie game that offers something really different though. You should still get it though. It is a wonderful game. Naughtydog always makes good games. You could think of the last of us as good as "uncharted" (another game made by them).

The hardware is 7 years old and some of you are still complaining about fps and quality? Wow.

But I generally agree with most. It is a bit overrated. Tsk tsk IGN for giving it a perfect 10. It's still a good, enjoyable game none the less. But I find the Uncharted games far more better.

I honestly don't know how any of you can possibly even begin to cast The Last of Us as generic. The gameplay perfectly compliments the game's narrative and tone, forcing you into many potential combat situations with very little ammunition or supplies at your disposal. At the same time The Last of Us doesn't allow you to simply stealth past said combat situations, putting you in a constant state of desperation. Every bullet, every crafting component, and every piece of scrap matters, especially if you turn up the difficulty. I can't think of another game from recent years that even comes to matching the balance of desperate combat and stealth, save for maybe Tomb Raider.

This review pretty much sums of my feelings about The Last of Us, both the good and the bad.

I thought it was great. The story is its best selling point but the gameplay isn't bad (ammo is so scarce it kinda forces you sneak around a lot which I've heard people complain about), and very fitting for the overall feel of the game. Best shooter I've played in a long, long time.

I don't where people are getting this "generic zombie shooter" from. There's too much sneaking around and gunfights with humans to make me think zombie game.

Maybe it's because people have different quality standards and The Last of Us didn't stand out to us as an "exceptional" game? I've played the demo for TLoU and watched a lot of gameplay videos on YouTube and I am not really impressed by what I'm seeing.

@, If you don't like The Last of Us, that's perfectly fine. I wasn't talking about whether the game is good or not. I was pointing out how silly calling The Last of Us a "generic zombie shooter" was seeing as how it doesn't play like most other shooters. I mean, honestly at any given time you might have ~20 bullets amongst all of your weapons so even calling The Last of Us a shooter to begin with is pretty silly to me.

The Last of Us - best game of the last year. So much feels... I almost cryed.

I got feels, specially in winter were Ellie evidently cares about Joel and viceversa. It didn't made me cry though, had Joel chosen "the other option", I might have cried. Mirror of Fate on the other hand, it made me cry....... alot

I love the game and can't wait for the Left Behind DLC.

The ending of the Winter chapter sent chills up my spine and almost made me tear up. Only 2 video games have made me tear up from sadness before so I'd consider almost being the third a big accomplishment.

The Last of Us is a must-have epic. The story is great, the graphics are amazing, and the apocalyptic set-up is mind blowing!

I don't even understand how people think it's flawed so greatly, when it really isn't. The multiplayer is extremely fun as well, and I think that ISN'T overrated, because if anything is overrated, it's Call of Duty.

Trust me on this.

The Last of Us is a 9.5/10, and it deserved GOTY instead of GTA5.
