2014 MLP Forums Awards (General) - Nominations

Hello, friends,  and welcome to the 2014 MLP Forums Awards.

 

What are the forum awards?

 

Unlike other contests, the MLP Forums Awards focus expressly on things related to the forums themselves and not to the show. 

 

This is somewhat misleading in the title, as the threads and posts in the nominations can also be from 2013, since it's so early in the year.

 

When are the nominations beginning/ending?

 

They begin as soon as I post the thread and they will either end in 2-3 days depending on how fast the slots are filled.

 

What are the rules for nominating?

 

You can nominate anybody, but only one for each category, and some categories have specific rules applied to them (For example, Most Notable New Member can only go out to somebody who has been a member for less than six months).

 

Also, some nominations are for threads/pages on the forums, in these cases, they can only be threads posted in 2013 or 2014.

 

What is the purpose of these awards?

 

For fun and to build a sense of brotherhood in the forums. I feel like this will really get you to think about what makes the members around you who they are. It will really make you think, and maybe even go out there and familiarize yourself with members you wouldn't give a second thought about otherwise.

 

That's why many of the categories are obscure and/or focus on newer members.

 

I hope everybody has a good time, more than anything. All community events ultimately have that goal (Unless they're run by ~Chaotic Discord~, in which case their ultimate goal is likely to get you to put navels in your avatars/perform various shenanigans).

 

I also hope that these awards can help us focus on all the fun we had on the forums in 2013 and all the fun we're sure to have this year.

I would nominate myself for never logs off, even though I can't XD. Recently I've been on nearly as soon as I get home from school to right before I fall asleep. But I honestly don't go around the forums enough to know any famous members or even newbies or anything, so I think I'll pass on this award-competition-thing.

Best fad is Navel Avatars. It ran the longest, with the most page responses and participants of any fad, which also made it the eighth most-posted lounge topic in forum history :3 It's one of most unique fads we've ever had, which added to why it became so widely popular for its prime. There are no competitors. That is all I have to say about that~

Well friends, naveltiers in brotherhood, I feel it's time to be closing this thread after referring to it one last time for the sake of giving folks an opportunity to pursue the art of pony belly buttons further with me, on DeviantART That is to say, I've stalked the hell out of all those who commented in the thread wanting to join, and anyone who had a DeviantART listed on their profile has been sent a membership invite on DeviantART to/by a certain nameless pony navel group run by some random fellow on there. No idea who he is, not at alllllll~ :3

 

If you have a DA and weren't invited, yet participated in this wonderful slice of forum lounge history, congratulations; your DA isn't listed on your profile, and you should probably go change that, then PM me letting me know :'D The other alternative was that I looked at your recent activity on both DA and here on MLPF, and you haven't been on either in a really long-ass time, so I didn't bother

 

If you're only stumbling upon this weirdo fucking amazing thread for the first time, my apologies; the party is now officially over! But all that means is that we've moved elsewhere, on a permanent basis! If you're interested, also feel free to PM me.

 

Lastly, thanks to everyone who helped make this silly little topic I made turn into one of the site's longest, and most wide-spread phenomenons ever. We racked up 36 pages of 708 replies, consisting of 56+ participators who used 83+ pony navel avatars. This is no small feat It is something to be proud of. Thanks again to everyone, I hoped you enjoyed it, and I apologize to those who joined later on and never got an avatar they asked for; everyone, myself included, had lost the motivation by that time ^^;

It wouldn't make sense to have such a category as everybody knows that Buffalo Man is the best God-Like Deity. There's no point voting.
