How does one become known?

I'm not sure if I should ask this.

But how does one become known?

When I mean by known I mean well known.

Does it take time?

Does it take skill?

I really I don't know.

And it keeps coming up.

What do you think?

Not sure I know what you mean.  Are you talking about known in general, known in the fandom, known on this forum, or something else?

Anyway, I'd say my general answer is to do something notable.  People become noticed on a forum when they post regularly, start interesting topics, and make posts that interest people.  People become noticed in the fandom in general when they do something unique or amazing like make fantastic art or start an interesting youtube channel.

A lot of it is luck though... one person can go completely unnoticed and do amazing things and another person can end up being known by everybody for no reason.

It takes time for someone to become well known. They would have to take a certain amount of time to be known by people, it depends on how they show a first impression and how they approach others.

Good points, I mean known in general by the way.

I think I'm starting to understand it a little bit.

The easiest way to become well known is to screw up in a spectacular way.  This works in ANY discipline and in general.

LOL, that may be true, but I think I'd rather stay unknown if I had to do that :P

So wait.

To be famous you have to fail epicly?

Somehow that sounds cool.

I used to be well known on YouTube and Facebook because I added thousands of people and talked and made friends with everybody.

I have no idea how to even be recognized anymore. I'm fairly anti-social now.

it depends on what you mean with how you desire your question to be answered.

That said, why would you want to be known?

Starting small, in the school you go to, or the clique you are in; 5 years down the road, they (and you) will just be a memory. Unless you stay together as friends, you will become unknown as soon as you graduate, so why bother? You will not leave a legacy worth noting, unless you do something bad. Good grades and high achievements will be bested by someone in the future so there's only so much you can really do.

Within this fandom (or any): Who knows where this fandom will be in 5 years. People will age, teens will grow up. This show may last 10 seasons or be canceled even if future seasons have been announced.  Once the show is done, I guarantee a majority of this fandom will split up and Bronies will just become a faded pop culture memory. There will always be a few die hard fans that will keep the original magic alive, but big names in the fandom will fade with time because they will no longer be important. Sure, you can get big here and now, but being a one hit wonder won't get you far.  you need to keep it up, keep it going as long as the fandom exists in order to maintain your spot in the spotlight. And this applies to any fandom.  Just look at any other fandom, especially long standing ones.  With each new generation comes fandom changes and those who were in spotlight when the original Star Trek or first Dr. gained popularity are now just distant memories if they are remembered at all (now I am not in either fandom, but this is just simple sociology and history in the making).  As with most prominent points in history overall, it's the bad guys who keep their names throughout time and the good guys who lead the cause. Fandoms are just small, isolated niches of what would be overarching history, if that makes any sense (I sometimes can't even make sense of my words).

And the point just leads into the overarching history in the making. And this thought just leads me to ask the question, "Do you want to make yourself known to the entire world?" Where every enemy of where you live, every ally, every poor and hungry person knows your face and name.  Just like the president of this country (USA), the world is judging your every action and intent, even if what they see is not what you are really doing. There are many websites and media out there that root for you to succeed and root for your death.  Your presence will divide the world as to how the world sees you. And how people will see you will reflect on how people will see your family, friends, everyone who may or may nor represent.  Your name will become very subjective.  I surely wouldn't want that.

EDIT: I should add, being yourself will do all you want to do with your life. Don't conform to what other people want just give yourself a name. Be who you are and that will be enough to give you what you want within the ramifications of your own heart. Don't forget to be humble of heart as well, that way your greed will not tempt you to aim recklessly high just to be "known."

It's actually fairly easy to become well known if your in a tight community like say high school. I did it without even trying. Not in a good way though. Not that I did anything bad, it just took me a while to "grow into myself" so to speak. So I developed a reputation and everybody kind of knew me, but I was known as the weird quiet kid, that if you got to know I was even weirder. But by the time I was a senior, I had matured and figured things out and I had a ton of friends. Of course they were all lower grade students, but that was because by that time I had stopped caring about what people thought and decided to just be me. So all my new friends met and became friends with the real me, while it was harder to break the reputation I had with the students in my own class. But eventually that changed too. I realize this is a highly isolated example, but the point is, never be afraid to be yourself. But I discovered a secret to it that helped me out. You can try it or not but I'm gonna put it out there. All you have to do is do some self reflection and figure out all the nooks and crannies of your personality. Then you just pay attention to how people react to the things you say and do and you can figure out what parts of your personality fits with others. Then you can be loved by all kinds of people. That may be a little extreme but it works for me. My last piece of advice would be, don't do things for the sake of being well known. Do things and be you simply because YOU like it, and it will show. Usually when you try too hard to be liked or wel known it doesn't work. And that goes for every part of life. People will pick up when you just do things for the enjoyment and appreciate it more. They can tell when your trying too hard.

I had thousands added but only talked to about hundreds and not every day. I usually had about 30-50 comments to reply to when I logged in and usually stayed on and chatted all night after school.

I could never do that now if I tried.

It's really simple dude, you just have to put yourself in every situation you can, have an open and interested attitude towards other ponies, and know how to let loose and have fun.  Over time, you gain the skills necessary to do this anywhere at anytime.  When you see somepony who is "cool", this is how you can describe them.

Failure works, but it's stupid if you're going out to fail on purpose, like failing is good, but doing it just for attention. Get a fucking life!

  • Do nothing but Fandom related crap.
  • Bribe Submit your works to Equestria Daily
  • Be funny
  • Be fun to be around
  • Be respectful
  • Don't be a jerk
  • Sellout (not recommended)
  • Bribe Ask people to share your works of beautiful art

Heh heh. 8D

Sounds like a cool idea.

I think failing on purpose is basically "taking the easy way out".

I rather work hard for it and hope I succeed, rather than hope to fail.

That's how I roll. B)

One good thing also on

this fandom is the well wide

range you can try out from

making videos and writing

and drawing and game making

and a lot of other things!

A lot of other fans/bronies are

more than willing to give some words

of help/feed back!

To become known you have to not try to become known but just enjoy being somewhere.

The more you care about being known the less you really know people and the less well known you are.

Or jsut become infamous for being nasty

Well it's rather easy to get known. It's hard to get known to everybody in a good way. You should just stand out I guess.

That's true, guess I should stand out.

I can't get known by everyone. >___>

And it sounds creepy.....

Everyone knows you. *shudder*

Sad but true. You could also try this...

Lol! I wish it were that easy. XD

Hmmmm.

Yeah, I see what you mean.

I shall keep that in mind! Thx!

You need to act cool. And have much swag. (jk, sorryxD)

Lol XD

If I could pull that off, it'd be pretty awesome.
