Thrashy 2,800 February 13, 2014 Share February 13, 2014 Good to see a more progressive stance on the issue instead of the usual torch-and-pitchforks, "R34 and anyone who makes/likes it is the DEVIL and such artwork should be stricken from ze Interwebz!" approach. While I still stand by my old assertion that young children should not use the Internet unsupervised by their parents/guardians, it really is a problem that NSFW images often slip through the cracks even when SafeSearch or similar filters are activated. I don't think I'd personally be able to donate a whole lot of my own time to searching extensively through Google images, but for those who would be interested in volunteering for this, good on you.
Zhortac 1,474 February 13, 2014 Share February 13, 2014 Quite a few of the incriminating photos I've found come from deviantart and legitimate sites, and given the sheer number of pictures made by the fandom, it's still perfectly applicable to apply filters and be mindful of children on general searches. Filtering NSFW content has improved since the inception of the Internet (Back in 2000 it was a lot worse), and there's always work to be done. Tags are helpful if the artist applies it correctly. Not sure if the engines filter, but I know on DA, mature images are not shown unless you turn the filter off and you have your age on the account 18+. Of course, DA only allows artistic nudity, anything beyond that is reportable and removed in a day or two. IF the image isn't flagged as mature, you can report it as well, and the staff will force tag it. Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play something. Also don't be afraid to message and talk to me. I've had bad luck when I start a conversation, so I more then likely won't start one.

It's just that google can sometimes show content that shouldn't be on there even with DA's filters. There is a case where when you search Pinkie Pie, there's this picture from deviantart that's disturbing with gore. However, DA doesn't seem to flag it and unfortunately this gets through google search with safe search on. Hopefully the staff will be more considerate. 1 "You learn a lot about people when you listen to the songs that mean something to them." Argumedies 1,748 February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 Hello all! I'm currently participating in something called SafeSearchWrapUp. What is that, you ask? Here's a description from the original source of the movement, BroniesAgainstBullsh!t. This event occurs on the 7th and 20th of every month. What do you think about it? Should people be doing this? Will you join in, or oppose it, or simply not care? ~Discuss!~ I tried to use a safe search when looking up pony..... couldn't find anything.... .... I kid
