Treble Bolt 1,122 February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 I am now sure how I feel about this. I mean yes, the name is cheesy, and manes are gaudy, but....BUT, how they present the turn of events that lead to all this will make or break the premise presented. Something tells me....Something really tells me....that IF what you are saying may be true, then the new EQG movie will tie into all this in a way to where Twilight will end having to go back to Canterlot High, maybe even all the mane 6 for some more strange reasoning and a concert or some kind of competition can save the real girls or something or other. I mean, if the movie is just about the competition and the whole Rainbow Rocks thing in EQG does not tie into the rainbow maned ponies, then I am just sitting here gapping without a way to reply.... Courageous Thunder Dash 7,824 February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 Rainbow Kingdom? Sounds like that name was created by a kindergardener. Some of us bronies should step into Hasbro's Headquarters and show them how we do it. So glad that MLP's gonna stay around for a long while. I just hope that the fire will still be burning. 2 Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeWg-TtBRMfqketa1ELyKGg Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/menelik-david-kenneth-cannady 2nd SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/thunder-dash-alternative/tracks Pony.fm: https://pony.fm/thunder-dash
duidamasterXD 9,627 February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 I can't say the idea of Twilight ruling over a Rainbow Kingdom fills me with any excitement or is anything I wanted to see in the show, but my role around here seems to be the fandom Scrooge since about a year ago. Maybe it'll be great, and I hope everyone likes it. As for the five years, super. So long as the quality doesn't suffer. Maybe it'll give them time to bring Sunset Shimmer and Lightning Dust back.
King Sejong 859 February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 I'm okay with these changes, it keeps the story fresh, gives the characters more involvement, and a new location on Equestria. Now I know some fans will lose their backbones, if they had any to begin with, but the children who are watching the show, are putting some bronies to shame, they are showing more discipline and acceptance than adult viewers, which will only fuel the haters perception of us. So it might be a commercial, so what? The eighties cartoons and movies were more than obvious about advertising, try watching those you might appreciate the subtly of modern media including FiM, seriously people, grow up, this immaturity about the changes, is becoming embarrassing, if you are going to complain be reasonable, don't just rant because of appearance or falling short of expectation. There was something about FiM that brought us here, like the great characters, wonderful animation and impeccable storytelling, there is no reason to be lewd nor belligerent toward Hasbro or the crew of Friendship is Magic, and we got that show that we wanted, so do not got get greedy or possessive of FiM, it was intended for young female views at first, but now it draws in vast amount of diverse audience, from around the world and different backgrounds, it would be wrong if the show was usurped for bronies only, as for me I will be mature and watch the show as always, and for the bronies that are okay with the new developments have my respect, so be calm, be polite and don't give the haters the satisfaction of showing the fandom as whiners and simpletons.

Sir Cal Stonehoof 596 February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 Rainbow Kingdom? Hmmm... I'm okay with this..I think.. But you can be sure we'll hear about others in the fandom that are going to be "complaining" about it. I just hope no one goes overboard and start sending out death threats to the cast like I heard rumored over EqG. As far as the 5 more years of ponies?.. I'll wait to see it to believe it.. Things happen, and the show could get cancelled early. I say enjoy the ride! Signature By: ~Sassy Dashie~

I said those things because I remember, all too well, the state of television animation in decades past. With few exceptions, it was pretty god awful. Zhortac 1,474 February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 There's at least a dozen better names for Twilight's own kingdom, that would fit her as a character, then Rainbow Kingdom. But if they treat it like her being an Alicorn, then I expect memes of "Has own kingdom, still stays in Ponyville" Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play something. Also don't be afraid to message and talk to me. I've had bad luck when I start a conversation, so I more then likely won't start one.

ghostfacekiller39 23,860 February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 (edited) Alright, first off, this isn't our show. Even though it was written with amazing characters great storylines, and all that good shit that makes it appeal to us, it was still made to be a 22 and a half minute commercial to sell toys. Nothing more. This is still a show made to appeal to little girls in hopes to sell toys to them. It gives us nods, and it occassionally caters to us, but all in all, this show is being written for the original audience, like it has always been, and always will be; and if you want them to start writing the show for Bronies, then I think you're just in it so you can be part of the internet trend and not for the show itself. I may have discovered MLP through it being an internet sensation, but believe me when I say I couldn't care less about how popular it is, because I'm in it because I find the show extremely enjoyable, not just so I can be part of the fandom. Second off, knocking something for it's name is stupid. My name is Riley, which is a more common name for girls than boys. Would you be up in arms for my name being more feminine than other boys my age? We don't know jack about the Rainbow Kingdom other than what has already been said on this thread. While I remain neutral on it, it isn't because I don't care. I just haven't seen it yet. I don't know about it. It could be badass for all I know. Last, but not least, Twilight is a Princess now. That can't be changed. Every single princess in the show has a kingdom or empire or whatever. Seriously, did you think she wouldn't get a kingdom after she became a princess? Now, don't knock something until you try it. So many people hate bronies just because we're bronies, having never tried the show. We're essentially putting ourselves down on their level of thinking by just going up in arms about the Rainbow Kingdom, even though all we've gotten from it is a first glance and nothing more. Sir Fluffernutter 435 February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 I have absolutely no problem with Twily getting her own kingdom, I actually think that sounds pretty cool. Hell, this could be a totally badass addition to the show, for all we know. Sure, the name is a bit cheesy, but it could be a lot worse. The only thing I can surely say I don't like is the Rainbow Power character design. People thought that Equestria Girls and Twilight becoming an alicorn would kill the fandom. But it didn't. Twily isn't overpowered and Equestria Girls wasn't half bad. People need to learn to keep an open mind, for is that not what got us to watch the show in the first place? 3 click here

I cannot give you enough brohoofs for this post. If you damn Hasbro for doing what they want to with their show, even if it gives the show more depth than it has, or act like Hasbro should shift their focus from kids to adults (that can't behave like adults, no less) then I will not see you as an actual brony, but rather someone in it for the attention. Simple as that.
Sugar Cube 4,843 February 14, 2014 Share February 14, 2014 (edited) Looks like the brony panic is already setting in. The fandom was initially up in arms when it was revealed that Twilight has a brother, that there was a third alicorn princess, and that there'd be a wedding episode. And guess what? That finale ended up being really excellent. When word got around that Twilight would become an alicorn, many people were crying out against it saying that this was derailing the series, that Twi would become a Mary Sue, and that the show was jumping the shark in the process. Now we know that Twilight is nearly the same as she always was and the show's quality has not declined. Equestria Girls gets a confirmation and the fandom sees yet another huge uproar. And what happened then? We weathered that storm too. So, it's (allegedly) called Rainbow Kingdom and people are hating on the name? We have a character named Rainbow Dash who can perform Sonic Rainbooms, we've got Rainbow Power and a Rainbow Rocks movie coming up, and we've seen the elements of harmony produce powerful rainbow blasts of doom more than once since the second episode. The My Little Pony logo even has a rainbow in it, and has since the brand started. This is the last thing we should be making a fuss over but here we are. I'm not a fan of the Rainbow Power designs either, but they might look much better when fully animated, assuming this is something we will see in the finale. I'm not a big fan of the idea of Twilight having a kingdom (I never liked the idea of her becoming an alicorn Princess to begin with and still don't) but it's unlikely that the show will see such a detrimental change just because of this. The show is making enough progressive changes to liven things up and keep the series fresh but it isn't changing what makes it so enjoyable. But what about the good news? Apparently, we have five more years of MLP, meaning plenty more Friendship is Magic seasons! I know there's room for concern here, but the show hasn't gone sour yet so I remain optimistic.
