Well, seeing as today is album day and I dunno 90% of the album avatars I've seen, I thought I'd create a thread to help each other identify the albums we're using for avatars! :D

"The Colour and the Shape" by Foo Fighters

Release Date: May 12th, 1997

Best Songs: All of them No, seriously Everlong, Up in Arms, Hey Johnny Park!, My Poor Brain (too many more to name)

Why This Is My Favorite Album: The best album by the best band. All that needs to be said, really. Listening to it right now.

EDIT: I should actually explain why. It's just so versatile, every song is different, yet they all sound amazing. I can literally listen to it all the way through over and over and not get tired of it. Also the track order is just perfect. The way Hey Johnny Park! fades into My Poor Brain, and the way they start with Doll and end with New Way Home, yeah, perfect.

Well this is actually my 2nd favorite album, not my favorite. The reason I'm using this one is because I like the album cover better than my favorite album. My favorite album is actually Hemispheres by Rush.  But the album I'm using for my avatar is Waking the Fallen by Avenged Sevenfold.

Favorite songs: "Your Treachery Will Die With You", "Shepard's Commandment", "Conceived Into Enslavement", "Descend Into Depravity", almost all the songs lol

My favorite album because: Dying Fetus is my favorite band and this is the best line up they ever had in their 20-something years as a band.

"The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" by Genesis

genesis_lamb.jpg

Release Date: November 18, 1974

Best Songs: The Lamia, The Colony of Slippermen, Anyway, In The Cage, Riding The Scree

Why this is my favorite album: Along with Foxtrot, this album is responsible for turning me into a raging Genesis fancreature. My obsession still has not abated.

I also considered Radiohead's OK Computer and Opeth's Still Life (because they both have better covers) but in the end I figured I'd stick to the rules.
