2 topic. I want to know your opinions on "Left 4 Dead" or "Left 4 Dead 2" on witch one is better. I Love the first one, but I hate the second one

3 topic. If you do like this game and want to play it, I would like to play it with some people I find here (you don't have to I would just like it)

1- Nope, I don't play it anymore but I used to love it alot back in the day, played it everyday. I have 1,382 hours into that game :o

2- I think the second one is better in story-wise because it gives you the campaign story of L4D1 and the campaign story of L4D2, and of course, the new game modes.

3- Nah, I haven't played neither of those Left 4 Dead in a while, I got bored of them after playing them for so long  :P

Since Left 4 Dead 2 pretty much ate Left 4 Dead 1, this is a no contest. Seriously; Valve added 90% of L4D1's content into L4D2 to try to remove the fanbase disconnect. It was basically just a horrible admission that they released a half-assed, unloved beta a year early.

I see that a lot of the reason to like L4D2 is the fact that it expands off of L4D1 and thats ok, but my reason for not liking L4D2 is actually very simple reason. I dont like the characters (I really hate the characters) the play areas are not giving me that feel of dread (and its in the day time, that really makes me just say no) and I feel like they fucked up the enemies in it (I do like the spiter, she's cool)

Ya, soon here I'm going to try to get the 2 DLC for the L4D1 game "The Sacrifice" and "Crash Course" Crash Course is a campaign that takes place between No Mercy and Death Toll campaign (The helicopter in No Mercy that you get on crashes and you run for your life) and The Sacrifice is the events that lead up to "the passing" from L4D2 in it one of your survivors has to die and cant ever come back (the Sacrifice)

I want these DLCs sooo bad!

I love these games.

I'd have to say that the second game is way better. (My Opinion).

The reason I like the second better is because it has all of the original L4D maps/survivors but now they have melee weapons, and stuff in them. Sure you have to deal with those annoying as hell Jockies, but oh well.

I LOOVE these games. I still play lfd2 alot. I totally agree though with most of the sentiments here: the second one is better for gameplay, but the first has better ambiance. the darkness, and "feeling of dread" are totally not there in the second one most of the time. the levels are too open and bright, but perhaps thats what they wanted, as they wanted a different feel for the art direction maybe? I dunno.

interesting tidbit: the boomer was origonally two different specials: the leaker, and the screamer. the leaker was like the boomer, but he just leaked the bile on you if you shot him. the screamer was an infected in a straight jacket, if he saw you, hed run away and scream, attracting the hoarde. the devs found the screamer to be OP, since finding the screamer while fighting the hoarde was almost impossible. they then just rolled the two into the boomer instead.

also, the games working title when it was in the concept stages was "terrorstrike" as in "counterstrike" (another one of Valve's games)

I actually went through the special features in L4D1 and did learn about the screamer, he was suppose to be a boss in it but took him out because the developers saw that he was to much for a lot of the players. He was way to hard to kill and he made hoards after hoards of infected run at you. This is his picture!

I liked both but I liked 1 better. Maybe because I played 1 with my friends a lot more than 2. We almost partied our asses off when we survived No Mercy on expert. Except me and one of my friends were the only ones who made the helicopter so we got the achievement and my other two friends didn't LOL.

There's not much of a contest, I think. Of course, there's those that like the first game simply because it was the first one they played (And lets face it, Left 4 Dead kinda gets repetitive after a while) and I can understand that, but for someone who hasn't played either before, 2 is 300% better. For once, you pretty much get the first game plus a bonus mission involving the original characters, there are more types of zombies, more guns, the characters are pretty hilarious, and...

Zombie clowns.

Also, yay, first post in a long time!

I have no idea how I'm going to be able to beat L4D1 on expert! I try and its so fuging hard! I'm going to try again in the future, but for now I just want to enjoy the game. I am a achievement hunter so I'm going to get it one day I swear, I'm going to get it one day!

I never played 1, but honestly, I don't see much a reason to at this point.  2 basically has all of 1 in it.  It's one of those rare cases in gaming where if you have the sequel, there's just no reason to ever go back to the original.  Other examples: Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 and Diablo 2.  Anyway, my friends and I are all big Dead players.  I gotta say, a lively Dead versus match with friends with good voice chat is about as good as gaming gets, imo.  It's competitive, makes you sweat, and most importantly, makes you laugh til you can't breathe.  Plus I have my Dead modded up to the point where I'm not using any original character or weapon models, so that's fun.  Most of my weapons and characters are ponified.  Left 4 Ponies 2, that's what I play.
