Because of my Job ( I'm a teacher) I don't get time to watch a lot of TV. Especially FIM as it's on during the day. So it would be great if someone could give me a quick heads up as to what's happening!

Too much to cover in one go that's for sure. I've only watched up to s3 myself but even then that's a hell of a lot to take in, massive changes happen at the end of series 3. I'm just gonna let someone more informed step aside and fill you in now XD

Considering it's a gag-a-day show, that could be a large order, but the cliff notes:

Q from Star Trek is now on the show as a draconis named Discord

Twilight Has a brother(who is happily married, their wedding was the season 2 finale) and Changlings are a thing now

There's a whole new kingdom called the Crystal Empire(Twilight's brother and his wife are in charge)

Twilight is now an Alicorn Princess(and has been to the human world)

The Elements of Harmony have been returned to their source, the tree of Harmony

Pinkie Pie is related to Applejack(maybe)

Luna is fully back(although she had a awkward time getting along with things after 1,000 years)

Rainbow Dash finally took scoots under her wing

EoH appear, Twilight gets wings. EoH disappear, Applejack still wears a hat. :P

She drank a redbull.

Seriously, it's kinda hard to sum up, and why would we want to spoil the plot for you? All the episodes are on Youtube. I know it would be difficult to squeeze it in to your day, but you're not restricted to when the show airs on the Hub.

Elements of Harmony are embedded in the Tree of Harmony, Six keys revealed to a mysterious box, New episodes that have two arcs: Equestria Games arc and the Six Keys arc along with the Cutie Mark Crusaders arc. A lot to cover. :P

Oh, and Twilight is an alicorn princess.

You can watch all the episodes online, if you aren't aware. Just Google "My Little Pony Season 4 Episode 6", and chose a dailymotion video (YouTube blocks most MLP videos). :)

It's a bit difficult to give a full explanation of what's happened.

Huh.

Well, I wanted to be the helpful chap, so I made a list of all the episodes and added short sentences to it. But I got bored by Season 2, and it only goes up to Sisterhooves Social.

Season 1:

·         Friendship is Magic - Twilight and Co are Elements of Harmony.

·         The Ticket Master - Everyone fights over a gala ticket - Celestia proceeds to send more.

·         Applebuck Season - Applejack learns to accept help from others, Big Mac talks.

·         Griffon the Brush Off - Rainbow Dash's completely oblivious to the fact her friend is a complete bitch.

·         Boast Busters - Trixie comes in, the moral is not to boast, everyone calls her out for boasting, everyone minus Twilight proceeds to boast, everybody minus Twilight get's screwed over. Then a bear comes and wrecks the place. Cue happy ending.

·         Dragonshy - Celestia sends a bunch of adolescents to go and have a talk with a dragon. Real smooth, Princess.

·         Look Before You Sleep - Sleepover at Twilight's with Rarity and Applejack. Twilight's a complete idiot.

·         Bridle Gossip - Zecora appears, cue racism. Everybody is jinxed, and another liquor reference is made.

·         Swarm of the Century - the morale is to listen to your friends, except said friend was being pretty fucking vague about it...

·         Winter Wrap Up - Twilight goes outside for winter wrap up. It's summer. Cue intro, and suddenly it's winter. Also, go sing along to it.

·         Call of the Cutie - "our special talents are wearing a tiara, something with a spoon and being spoiled brat! Hahaa! We're special" The Cutie Mark Crusaders are formed - cue many CMC episodes of constantly forgotten morals.

·         Fall Weather Friends - Rainbow and Applejack compete in a race and screw around and cheat and what-not. Cue irony.

·         Suited for Success - Rarity makes good dresses. Ponies make bad dresses. Rarity makes good dresses. Success. Also, go sing along to it.

·         Feeling Pinkie Keen - Cue controversial moral and character trait that never gets mentioned... until fan-service starts to kick in.

·         Sonic Rainboom - Marketing ploy for Rarity with wings. Rarity pulls an Icarus and plummet to her doom. Cue the Sonic Rainboom.

·         Stare Master - Sleepover at Fluttershy's. Cue the stare, a special talent that came out of nowhere.

·         The Show Stoppers - Cue failed moral with yours truly ~ Cutie Mark Crusaders.

·         Green Isn't Your Colour - Fluttershy becomes a rolemodel. Cue idiocy regarding secrets.

·         Over a Barrel - Flutterspike confirmed. Also, warfare that ends with a very contrived resolution.

·         A Bird in the Hoof - OMG someone died in MLP!??! Nah, it was a phoenix, just 'shedding its wings' or something like that.

·         Owl's Well That Ends Well - Owl comes out of nowhere, is almost never mentioned afterwards. Ever.

·         Party of One - Pinkie acted like a completely normal and rational being in this episode. Yyyyup.

·         The Best Night Ever - Celestia invited the mane 6 to the gala so they could screw up for shits and giggles.

Season 2:

·         Return of Harmony - Everyone's brainwashed by Discord, but all the friendship reports accumulated throughout Season 1 help. Cue shit-easy defeat with a rainbow blast.

·         Lesson Zero - the episode whose premise was that it had no morale - cue completely normal and rational Twilight.

·         Luna Eclipsed - Luna appears. Cue flawed moral - 'so when someone who has been controlled by evil itself has to deal with the consequences of that, just fear them for the fun of halloween and disregard how they might be feeling'.

·         Sisterhooves Social - best episode ever.

Note: I was being sarcastic when I said 'helpful'. I doubt you'll understand what I said...

  • 7 years later...

Lots of villains were fought and reformed, new creatures moved in and learned about ponies while also sharing their own cultures, the main characters kept getting stronger and more mature from their friendship lessons, and new magic was discovered that continuously altered pony history.
