It's a bit depressing.. I've been wanting to emulate Final Fantasy games (especially VIII and IX) but I can't figure out how to. :/

well i do use emulators aka Visual Boy Advance, VirtuaNES, Zsnesw and Fusion i want to get more emulators but it's just that my laptop can't run some emulators well (e.g Desume) and i'm actually wondering is it worth getting a controller for emulators

Have you tried the other Nintendo DS emulators? I forget which emualator I used to use for NDS, but I got one to work.

Check out this guys post about it, I can't remember the full process but I have 3 different Playstation emulators I've all configured so I can probably answer a question here and there.

Can you get ROMs there or did you also share a good website for that?

Yeah both roms and Emulators are found there for all systems, I use it all the time, I'd recommend it.

It even has book scans of video game art books and a bunch of other stuff.

There is also isozone.com but it's not as good.

I would say that it is "wrong", but considering that you CAN'T buy gameboy/snes/whatever games any more, it makes sense. I use them to play all of those nostalgic game boy games that I can't find any more, which is pretty amazing.

Your argument is invalid.

Well, it was thanks to emulation that I was able to play the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney series. I guess I'm not against it, but, like you, I also do game reviews. If worst comes to shove, I'll use an emulator and feel no shame in it.

I use the site CoolRom

Generally, i use VBA or a gameboy color emulator.

I use to use Coolrom till they forced users to use a .exe installer for roms. At least last I went there.

.exe files are supsicious I just use isozone and emuparadise now.

There are tonnes of other sites you can get roms and rom hacks from though.

Some of the games I've played are impossible to play without an emulator ie japanese games that are patched to engilish and not only that, I I've tried two different TV setups with 2 different capture cards and I could never get capture cards to work. Add into that the fact that I've gotten pretty good at configuring all types of emulators and trying out various software video capture techniques and I really don't have any other option. I love emulation it keeps old games alive because most people don't have 100's of dollars to drop on ancient systems with overly priced old libraries of games, most of which such but are expensive just because collectors will pay the price.

This is proof of a safer way

it gives you the file directly, w/o the installer
