I wasn't planning that. In the game Mantorok is based off of, certain creatures have runes inside of them. To make them work, since natural magic flow keeps them in check, you have to literally cut them open and access them manually.

 

For Mantorok to take advantage of that, he'd have to slice a feral pony open. He considered that, judging by his autopsy comments.

 

Well, that's a good point, but his golem would be able to break free fairly easily. It's got no pain sense, so it could chop off its own leg and walk back to him

His runes could effect the ferals, but things like pain mean nothing to them, they could still fight though it and land blows.

Doesn't really matter since he doesn't have the Tome of Eternal Darkness with him. The Ulyaoth Runes on his scalpels will certainly cut in deep, that's how they work

Chattur'gha(Strength)>Xel'lotath(Insanity)>Ulyaoth(Mind)>Chattur'gha

 

Think of it like rock paper scissors.

 

The ferals will fight through the pain, no doubt, but the Ulyaoth runes will cut deeper than normal due to the feral ponies being strength focused

The fact that he does this now doesn't help any character development. I just don't get why he does it so quickly... has he absolutely no faith in the team? And how the hell did he even get in the team to be honest i don't know...

OT: What the fuck runes, i... can't you just be simpler instead of making everything complicated so much that we have to actually make our own research or listen to tons of headcanon, or analyse tons of articles to understand your OC? Relax, I won't pull any force chokes. Even in the game, the monsters with runes in them needed to be cut open by a trained soldier and then exploited.

Don't ask me, ask Nintendo when they pulled off the God Mantorok and made him three times as complicated. *shrug*

He is a heavily dumbed down a verson of a Cthuloid god, that's the best way to put it. Relax, he's nowhere near as powerful, but yeah, Eternal Darkness  is freaky as Hell.

I've thought about this. I realize Saron's just sort of standing there (mainly because I can't find a chance to throw a post in. There had been one, but I walked away to get food and, well, that didn't last long) Once this slows down I should be more active. My posts tend to be long and detailed, as you know, and those take a good chunk of time to type out. 

 

But like I said, I have thought about Saron's getting taken. He's in the mindset of 'How can I better understand these ponies and the effects of Equibane?' And getting captured by them and being near them would be the best way. He's a Crystal pony, so he can take a fair amount of abuse, both physical and magical.

You probably will, though given the fact that Mantorok's converted his hooves into wolverine claws, it'll leave wounds. Granted, they won't be too bad, but who knows, maybe Malinter gets an eye scarred
