Hmm...

Sometimes I want to offer advice or guidance but I wonder if that comes across as wanting to "fix" things when I should simply just be a listening presence? Or does that come across as indifferent? :sealed: Talk about over-thinking....

If it's a general discussion, any input should be okay.  Who knows, you might have a solution to a problem that's got the others stumped.

What?! Next you'll tell me not every Canadian is a hockey fanatic, and that Canadians don't eat Timbits and poutine for every meal (jk).

And that not all of them are nice and call ham Canadian bacon

I think it just depends on the person and situation. A new Citizen Soldier song came out called "Sit In Your Shadows" that was all about how sometimes if nothing else works, you can just meet someone where they're at and just be present with them. I think that's what people tend to desire the most and if they want advice, they'll most likely ask for it. There isn't always a clear-cut way of helping people, though, so sometimes you just have to take a risk and experiment!

Also, since I really wanted an excuse to post this, here you go, here's the song:

Before adding input, it's also possible to just ask the person - sometimes someone needs to vent to someone and to be empathised with but can figure stuff out on their own and just want the emotional support, sometimes they need advice, or sometimes they need the former first so they can get the latter afterwards. It'd probably spare everyone a lot of trouble if we all got into the habit of asking what people would like from us about stuff like this more often :derpy-hi:

I'm thinking Bairro is trying to get intel from us!! :Cozy:

I somehow broke the website while replying to you. Anyway.

Get this person a true.

It varies from person to person, but speaking for myself, if I want advice or help I’ll specify that. Otherwise I’m just ranting, venting, whatever. And don’t really want any sort of advice. Communication is always key and imo it’s better to ask first before giving advice if you’re unsure. Especially if dealing with someone that might be in a fragile mental state.

People on eBay are wild. Selling records for $50-$150 bucks that you can still buy that exact same record for brand new on the artists website for $35.

Gotta pay the middle man. If you buy right from the source it's cheaper, since your usually only paying the source itself. It's why the term "factory floor pricing" exists as if you buy from the methodical "factory floor", your only paying the factory/company owner. Not the factory and the market it's being sold in. And if you have it shipped, than you sometimes have to pay the shipping company too unless you have a subscription or the like.

Oh I’m aware of the process as I buy a lot of vinyl. But these people are gonna be selling those records for awhile unless someone decides they wanna spend 80 bucks on something they can buy brand new for 40
