Even though my home town may not be as interesting as say the Amazon rain forest or Giant's causeway in Ireland, i may see inspiration in something. If I can't muster the drive, I'll daydream about it for a while and try to carry on with my day. Even though I'm not very creative, my biggest problem isn't getting ideas, it's having the drive to put them to paper. Back in high school I designed knives and started compiling a zombie survival guide. The "guide" is just a pile of notes, but someday I'd like to take up smithing/metalwork and try to actually make some of them (that happens to be part of the 'daydream' portion...) My imagination is overly ambitious, I guess. For now, I usually just have to try my best and accept the inevitable subpar results. So I'll go into a crafting frenzy and forget to eat or sleep or feed my poor dog lol. But I don't ever try to force it; I just wait for it to happen organically, because otherwise I can't focus long enough to finish anything. Though the stupid thing is I have never actually written any of them down because I get a little bit of anxiety about what people with think of them, things like "oh this is a dumb fic" or "the people are out of character" Also my punctuation is usually horrible. Yeah the right music and a picture of the characters I can usually come up with something, I just have to overcome fear.
