One of the main gripes I've heard against bronies is that you (and by association, little children) can easily find mature content when image googling SFW topics like "twilight sparkle", even with Safe Search on.

I don't know about you, but I've had enough of that criticism.

So I propose we do something about it.

Specifically, we should form some sort of group that's specific job is to image-Google topics that children would most likely search, like "my little pony" or "MLP pinkie pie" and look for any images one may deem "inappropriate", like r34, sexy equines, violence, things like that.

Then we mark them as mature content, by basically doing this:

It'll be like that Tumblr movement, but with less crippling self-righteousness.

While this won't prevent you from finding the stuff if you really want to, it'll at least make coming across any mature pictures by accident a much rarer ordeal.

Together, we can make haters shut their greasy face holes on this particular matter.

And something about children not coming across mature stuff by accident too, I guess.

That's a brilliant idea.

I don't care what reasons people have for doing this, it'll still benefit the kids.

I was being half-facetious :P

Sure, I don't want a 12 year old scrolling down and seeing some crazy pr0n or cupcakes art (even though I've noticed most cloppers and Gore enthusiasts are relatively young anyway), but if I hear this argument against bronies one more time, I'm going to fight someone on the side of the street.

Why not just write an autoscript to do it for you? Sounds like to much personal effort man.

I imAgine that's why few people have replied. x)

I don't code, I imagine writing one involves obscene amount of coding skills

You could always just pay a code monkey to do it. Not like they go outside to often lol.

If you have any idea of how such an automaton could work and how on Earth would it be able to recognize mature content, please tell me. I'll code it and get the Turing prize in AI.

It uses state-of-the-art "pony gine" recognition software

F*cking, obviously

I have no idea, thus the paying someone else to do it.

Paying someone else who doesn't have idea either? ;)

I cannot imagine a person who could agree to be paid for that, knowing that it is almost impossible with our present knowledge in AI. Unless he has no shame and will just take your money and pretend he's doing something  ;)

TL;DR:  Some things are impossible no matter how much you pay. You can't pay me to love you, for example.

OK I've got an idea:

Brain cell sample extracted from a clopper's brain, connected to a piece of wire. If it twitches, the picture goes flagged ;)

Yes I can. I can most surely pay you to "love" me. Especially with all those student loans you need to pay back.

I'm a thousand percent certain this idea won't get off the ground.

As much as even people here say the thing about Google image's safe search and mature art, it's gonna take incentive to get gears a-shifting.

C'est la vie'

That's not the kind of love I was talking about, and I'm sure you know it.

But if you really have so much money to waste, then go on, pay someone. I'm really curious of the results.

Oh please, we all know with debt that if a decent amount of money was thrown your way, you'd more than "love" whoever was paying off said debt. You can talk about it ya know, it is fairly common for your age group to participate in ;).

To Dattebayo,

Thank you SO much for being a fan who actually stands up to this nonsense, not just say "Oh, but we're not all like that!" True that may be, it does not help the fandom's already suffering image any, and makes them look like they're okay with this perversion of My Little Pony. Bronies are becoming the new furries (in the sense that many people erroneously believe it's all about bestiality sex).

Of course, one could find risque content for any children's pastime if they look hard enough, but Jesus, MLP Gen 4 is the only one so far where I've been pelted with constant inappropriate images with the dang Safesearch on.

Well, let me state that I don't disapprove of the mature content.

Hell, in my experience, I haven't even really seen the stuff with safe search on.

I am not on a pr0n or Gore crusade.

I'm on a "shut the haters up" one.

Which is quite strange. Why Google's filters don't work so well for MLP as for other types of images? It begins to look really suspicious, as if they were doing it purposely.

Oh please, we all know with debt that if a decent amount of money was thrown your way, you'd more than "love" whoever was paying off said debt.

I would be thankful, I would appreciate it, but I wouldn't LOVE that person just for that. If one expected my love for paying my debts, I'd say "No, thanks then, I'll rather die trying to pay it myself". And to your information, I actually paid my student loan all by myself.

Don't judge others by your own measure, though ;J

You can talk about it ya know, it is fairly common for your age group to participate in.

My age is irrelevant here. So much the discussion about paying for love or other impossible-to-buy things. The thread is about possible ways to filter those images. So I'm not going to argue about irrelevant stuff here, especially if it goes nowhere.

Nah, you talk, but if you were down on your luck you'd "love" whoever paid your way out if it meant getting out. And you are the one that helps continue it, it would have ended had you not replied again hun.

But it's a legitimate business.

Although to get back on topic, it does seem rather strange that r34 tends to pop up on google searches than other similar searches, even when searching from a different computer with a different IP.

Credit that to the complete global saturation of the uroboros virus bronies on the internet.

Whole not a bad thing per say, more people=more porn

As I've already said, I've been there, I had my student loan to pay, and I was in very short supply with money. There were people offering me help in paying it (for something else in return), but I didn't agree to that. So please don't tell me what I would do in some situation when you're not me, thank you very much. The fact that you would love whoever would pay your debts, doesn't mean yet that everyone would behave the same way.

And you are the one that helps continue it, it would have ended had you not replied again hun.

Same goes with you, so please don't blame all the fault at me. This is unfair and... well... kind of rude  :P

I would like to see some statistics on the amount of pornographic fan art, compared to the non-pornographic works. Would be interesting to see just how close the numbers come.
