Pavisa

Despite everything that had happened since they had last met, Pavisa's smile was genuine when she saw Redwave jump down from the ship.  She gave a small nod towards him, gritting her teeth at his remark about her appearance.  Despite her lack of armour and lack of a proper chance to bathe within the last few days, the throb in her forehead suggested exactly what the captain was referring to.  Without thinking, she responds back to him as they walk closer towards the ship.  "Aye, and you're looking rather spry for a gargoyle, Captain.  It's good to see you again."

She was a little surprised at her own comment - there was no way she would have said something like that back when she had been with the guard and they had first started this quest.  But then again, that felt like a lifetime ago now...  Seeing Redwave had brought back memories of when he'd been petrified, of when he had shoved her out of the way of Orion's spell, and she made a mental note to make sure something like that didn't happen again.

Walking up aboard the ship, Pavisa flicks an ear in curiosity at Scribe's voice.  Not close enough to see on board yet, she started wondering just how many ponies were going to fit on the vessel...  How close are we expected to be living here?  Upon getting closer, the ex-guard starts looking over the ponies already on board in an effort to get an idea for their new traveling companions.  First was the white and blue unicorn.  Judging just off of the fact that he was the one talking, Pavisa took him to be Redwave's cousin that 'Fisher had mentioned.

Glancing towards the others, Pavisa made rather quick mental notes of all of them.  An experienced looking pegasus mare, a green pegasus speaking with a pink mare holding a crossbow, a royal guard...

Wait, what?  Doing a quick double take, Pavisa quickly averted her gaze from Terra and glanced back to make sure the others were close by.  It wasn't anypony she recognized, but it still caught her off guard.  His armour reminded her a little of her brother's - which meant that had she still been in the guard, he'd surely have outranked her.  It's not like he's going to know you, just calm down.  Even if it was somepony you knew, you look different enough now that he wouldn't even recognize you.  After a few more seconds Pavisa blinks and turns back to the others again, a new thought popping into her head.

My first reaction was to turn away rather than salute.  Maybe I'm finally getting used to this...  Realizing she hadn't said anything yet now that she'd boarded, Pavisa lifts a hoof to wave at the ponies she didn't know while just standing aside waiting for the others to come on board.  "Er, hey.  Name's Pavisa."

Zintiik

The changeling had come to a stop when Redwave had glared at him, tensing up and preparing to spring away as soon as the stallion made a move towards him.  This was a terrible idea.  Zintiik was no less paranoid when the captain had turned away from him, shouting for everyone to come aboard.  Now speaking with the slow, apathetic voice of Tactic in case those on the boat were close enough to hear, Zintiik flaps his wings a couple times to try and get Redwave's attention.

"Everypony, Redwave?  Am I safe in assuming that includes me as well, or should I go now to save you the trouble of finishing me off?  It sounds like close confines, are you sure you want one of my kind in such a position?"  The changeling in the guise of the Pegasus grins as he starts to hover in midair - tastefully out of reach of a sword, in case things turned violent - in preparation to either fly aboard or flee, whichever became necessary.

Gwyn

@

Gwyn shook her head as the green mare asked if she knew anypony else. "Not really, no. Just Mister Scribe. Are you sure you're ok? You look like you're about to have a heart attack."

She didn't know what to do in this situation. If she could call on Noble... no, he wouldn't be much help here. He was more the type of pony who manipulates others for noble but extreme goals. This mare seemed like she might need a friend, not mind games to trick her into something. With her mind going blank as she tried to think of what to do, Gwyn panicked and hugged the mare. "It's going to be alright. What's your name?"

Aegis

@

Aegis wandered on deck with the others and started looking around. He'd never been on a ship before or even out of Equestria before, so he was starting to get excited. He didn't care much about the mismatched state of the ship now that he was paying attention. "So this is the Dawn Dreamer? Looks pretty cozy. Got any food on board? Or ink for writing? I kinda threw mine away up north."

Minty Wintergreen

"..I do?" Of course, hearing that only made her feel worse. She tried to remain calm and told the mare her name. "My name is Minty.. I know Redwave a little bit, but he's not making me feel any better." The words were barely audible, but hopefully the mare had to pity her more than she had to. She looked like a wreck. Minty wouldn't blame her if she didnt want to try to befriend her.

Redwave.

@@Umbreon,

"Indeed... and you, my dear, seem to have spent too much time around 'Fisher here, if language is something to judge by." He grinned - it wasn't the first time he had witnessed a guard actually prove themselves competent in his eyes... and for all the taunting it would probably draw from him in the future, it was good to see.

And then the insect spoke up, perfectly ruining the moment.

Red turned - not drawing his cutlass, though it was clearly taking great self restraint.

"Do not test my patience, vermin." Muttered the captain as he glared skywards. "I do not know what events transpired to lead you to this place, but I presume that all will be revealed in time."

He jerked his head towards the ship.

"You will behave as everyone else is expected to. Know that the sky will be no sanctuary out over the waves - do you truly believe us helpless, in a profession dominated by pegasi? Bah, drones... every bit as mindless as one would expect."

---------------

Scribe.

@@Windbreaker,

"Food?" Scribes ears pricked up at the word. "Now you're talking my kind of language! Yeah, there's loads of the stuff... brought most of it here myself!"

He cocked his head to one side.

"You're a dude, right?"

Without waiting for an answer, the dimwitted unicorn had bounded down beneath the deck, where his voice sounded loudly from below.

"Apples... apples... ooh, pastries! " he reeled off, rummaging through a number of crates, barrels and sacks. "More apples... can't never have too many apples! Oh, and a bunch of less interesting stuff: honey and biscuits mostly... we've got to eat the fresh stuff first though I reckon."

...

Beneath the ships decks, significant adaptations had been made, both over its years of use (by the experienced hooves of Kingfisher) and more recently (by the considerably less experienced Scribe). Now, it resembled a rather poor attempt at accommodation: six small 'rooms' seperated by fairly poorly made wooden walls. Bedrolls, sheets and pillows were strewn about - probably old cargo that had been dug out from somewhere.

Towards the back of the ship was an open area dedicated to storage: where the food, drink and assorted odds and ends were kept. Beside this, a crude seating area with benches and tables surrounding a very carefully constructed (if not particually well thought) out fire pit.

Even though most of the place was clearly hoof-crafted by ponies with only a very basic idea of how to do so, it was covered with drapes, cushions and rugs to the point of almost masking the ramshackle state of the ship. It was a jarring combination of gaudy extravagance and 'make-do' improvised functionality that perfectly matched the captains own personality.

@@Windbreaker,@,  Terra listened and noded in understanding but didn't exactly leave. He sat there a little further than Gwyn so as not to interrupt them. Once they finished their chatter he introduced himself.

"My name is Terra Lionmane but you can just call me Terra. Nice to meet you Minty." he tried to at least seem friendly and understanding as he was trying to think of a way he could help the mare. It was at that time that the curious companion of his Fenix approached with genuine curiosity as to what made the pony upset, or sad... it looked like Minty was worried in a way and Fenix also wanted to help.

"This little fella of mine is named Fenix. I see that you need some help to relax... why don't i leave Fenix right here for a bit and go make you some hot chamomile? It'll help you calm down."

Gwyn

@,

"Nice to meet you, Minty. I'm Gwyn." She said softly, trying her best to soothe Minty's nervousness. She smiled at the green mare and decided she was going to try and help Minty feel better and make her happy. Though perhaps Gwyn should start with not being so brutally honest. "If you wanted, we could be friends. It just seems like you really need a friend, and...well, I'm kinda looking for friends, too."

Aegis

@,

Aegis grinned mischievously after Scribe as he followed the unicorn below deck. As Scribe started going through the food, Aegis nodded politely while he thought of a prank to pull. Then he decided to play up his mare-ish looks for all they were worth...by speaking a natural-sounding feminine tone.

"Sounds delicious. Have you got any bell peppers? I just love spicy food." Aegis said, deliberately acting like a mare and waiting to see if Scribe could figure it out. Not that he meant any ill will towards the Unicorn; it was more about Aegis trying to maintain a positive attitude and having a bit of fun. With recent events, it seemed too easy to slip into sadness.

"Chamomile tea sounds good, thank you,"
Minty smiled at the stallion. She turned back to Gwyn. "I could use some friends.." Minty gave Gwyn a small smile, and watched Redwave barking at a Pegasus and a unicorn. "Do you have any idea why they're fighting? If we're all gonna be on the same boat, we have to at least get along.. well, that's what I think." Zintiik

'Tactic' glared at Redwave for a moment before grinning, chuckling quietly under his breath.  "As you say...  Captain."  Without waiting for another insult to come his way, the changeling disguised as a Pegasus flaps his wings and moves towards the ship.  He considered waiting for Mirror, but he figured she would also have an easier time if the others didn't associate her with him...  He still didn't expect his illusion to last all that long, after all.

Upon landing on the deck, Zintiik looks around at the others he didn't know, trying to quickly evaluate them.  Without any actual knowledge of any of them, it didn't take long for the paranoid changeling to label them all as potential threats and instead move off to sit by himself.  He climbs up onto the railing of the ship, sitting where he can study the others yet far enough away it would be awkward for one of them to try and start up conversation with him.  Whatever you do, don't let any of them close.  They're ponies...  Ponies aren't friends.

Pavisa

With the others seeming busy getting to know each other, Pavisa decided to start familiarizing herself with the ship.  She didn't wander far - they'd just arrived, and she wanted to stay within hearing range in case there ended up being an issue with some of their...  Unexpected party members.  So she settled for sticking her head inside the ship to look around.  Looks like about...  Six rooms?  Even assuming that the Captain has his own quarters, which...  He might not, considering the size of the ship...  I can see what they meant by the tight quarters.  This might be...  A little close for comfort...

@

The ex-guard shook the thought out of her head and backed back out to the deck.  They'd figure out the sleeping arrangement later, she figured.  There were other things to deal with first, and as such she wandered back over by Kingfisher.  Unsure of what to do until they were ready to go, she glanced towards her friend and gave a small shrug.  "It's a nice ship.  Afraid I might not be much help without a little training though...  I mean, I might be planning on going with you guys once we're done here, this is actually my first time aboard a ship though."

Patience

@

Patience wasn't too surprised that the Captain didn't need any help, most crews already knew what they where about before setting sail. That said Patience had said that she'd help out and offer to assist she did, as far as she was concerned that was allll she was obliged to do. So she nodded understandingly and was about to speak up when the Captain cuffed her...

It was a friendly gesture she supposed and it was the Captain so he was safeish so it wasn't a big deal... That said instinctive reactions where hard worn into the merk so she loosened her wings defensively and easily sidestepped away from the Captain, only muttering "Yes Captain." as he leaped over the side of the ship onto the docks to greet those who where approaching. Merely glancing back to Scribe when he spoke up but uninterested in his words, as far as she was concerned she wasn't sharing her 'room' so she wasn't much bothered with it all and returned her gaze back to observing the newly arrived ponies instead.

First thing learned was that the previously noted, and way to strong looking, unicorn was apparently named Pavisa... She seemed friendly enough and got on pretty well with the Captain it seemed but when she walked on board it became obvious that she was wearing the remains of some sort of armor... So she probably knew how to fight to some degree as well as having magic, coupled with everything else that naturally made Patience inwardly nervous. She didn't like that particular combination one bit... So when the Pavisa spoke up and waved Patience politely waved back and continued to watch the rest in silence.

It seemed that there was some bad business between the Captain and the dull brown pegasus though, cause he was immediately in the air and questioning his own safety... Meh, smart of him she supposed.

The other pegasus had landed and boarded by now too but he was addressing Scribe so Patience wasn't really paying much attention to him. Wasn't to fast, by her standards, and was excitable so he wasn't concerning.

Yep, there was definitely a bad history between those two but... Not that bad though as the Captain was still willing to work with him despite a few warnings tossed in, valid warnings she supposed but when looking around... Even with the profession being dominated by pegasi this ship certainly didn't have many. And thankfully it seemed that the pegasus was willing to work with the Captain as well and he flew on deck and examined everyone within sight before moving over to the opposing railing and sitting on it to carefully watch everyone more carefully just as she was doing... Nice to see another pony with any measure of caution at least but all the more reason to be careful.

Though by now she was done observing the new ponies and had gotten bored... Time to find out where that brandy was and get a bottle and get comfortable before everyone got all chatty. So patience casually avoided everyone else and made her way down to what she assumed to be the storage area, walking past and pretty much ignoring the pair of stallions in her search of brandy... But she didn't know what barrel contained her goal so after a moments search she muttered in annoyance and sits in front of the barrels to glare at them before looking over her shoulder to ask Scribe about it. "Hey Scribe, which one of these is brandy and do you guys have a spare flask that i could borrow for... a while?"

@@@Windbreaker"Indeed... but i believe he just does it so that everyone gets to know he's serious and all." said Terra thinking about the captain. After a few moments of thinking he stood up and chirped towards Fenix telling him to stay by Minty's side for the time that he was gone. "If anything happens here tell Fenix my phoenix about it... he will call me wherever i am and i'll be there as soon as i can." he bowed respectfully withdrawing and looking for the cooks and a place where he could safely preparing some soothing chamomile. If they didn't have it he would compromise for tea which was the next best thing. In any case he would be respectful to the ladies and act like a gentlecolt.

Midnight Sky

"Oh, so these are yours then? As a matter of fact I did have the other one for a while, and it's contents were indeed very helpful. Saved our lives even, but I haven't seen her since the cave-in back in the Crystal Empire." Midnight said when Bardic inquired about the other box. The revelation that they belonged to Bardic and that he had been studying them made Midnight excited, he had already been hoping Bardic would know something about them but this was even better. "From what was going on I can assume she either died or escaped but is low on energy. Perhaps once everypony has settled down more we can compare notes, I imagine you'll want more details and I in turn would like to know what you've discovered. In the mean time would you like this one back?" Midnight asked, gesturing to the music note lockbox tied to his flank. If Bardic agreed then this could possibly be the most revealing discovery about magic that Midnight has ever made, it seemed deciding to follow up on Bardic's letter in the beginning was a very beneficial decision for Midnight so long as Sunshine doesn't get hurt.

Bardic.

@@Icy Void,

"Her...?"

Bardic's face blanked. He stared at the unicorn for a moment or two. "You... opened it? Spoke with something... and it escaped?"

He blinked.

"The true monsters aren't the ones with the largest teeth or sharpest claws: it spoke to me, on occasion. That is why I locked it away: there was a malice in its words that I fear far more than any threat we face now."

The Bard sighed. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, and took a second long breath.

"We can only hope that it will be sealed away or destroyed alongside the others, should we find away. That, and that it does not return to hinder our progress. A daemon of its kind - one with honeyed words and subtlety - is far more of a risk of Equestria than the ones which simply consume."

Reaching out for the remaining box, the stallion grasped it and looked towards the lock appraisingly. He paused, cleared his throat and clearly stated a simple phrase.

"Iftah."

Without any elaborate display, the lock simply crumbled to dust. Horn glowing, a rather unassuming notebook, a couple of ink bottles and quills and a scroll blunt with a length of red cloth were lifted telekinetically from the inside, bathed in a golden hued light.

"At least my journal survived... I feared that I would not see it again after abandoning it to the wreckage. Indeed, after leaving my message in Canterlot, I set out northward by train to investigate further. Suffice to say, we were attacked. I believe that I am the sole survivor."

Clumping up onto the deck of the ship, he motioned for the unicorn to follow, standing by the walkway. He was also keeping an eye on the other - the one that his begrudging friend kept calling 'Witch' - Mirror Image. He had said before that they needed to leave petty quarrels aside and band together: he wasn't about to go back on this.

He blinked.

"What? Oh, peppers... peppers... There might be a few in one of those barrels.."

He waved a hoof towards some of the smaller containers off to the left.

"Uh... "

'Stop trying to think! You're useless at it anyway! It's not a big deal!'

"Yeah... we just kind of got whatever we could get our hooves on. Not a lot of food going round these days, y'know?"

@@Tricksters Pride,

Thankfully, another voice saved Scribes mind from all out bickering with itself, as he turned to see the Pegasus that had approached them first back in Canterlot.

"Aha! Yeah, that's probably... one of those at the back, the big ones? One should be water and the other is the stuff Red drinks..." bracing against a crate, he heaved it aside to reveal a pair of tapped barrels, along with several more identical ones which were still sealed.

"Don't ask me which though... oh, and there should be something you can keep the stuff in laying around somewhere."

@@Umbreon,

"Don't worry about it, just watch what I do... Red might be Cap'n but the dreamer is... we've got a sort of bond - I'll explain sometime... quieter."

It wasn't exactly fully coherent, but she hoped it would put the mare at ease somewhat.

"Dreamer ain't like any other ship anyway. Oh, do me a favour?"

Pressing close to Pavisa's side, she pointed out the green Pegasus Mare.

"That's Minty, she's... well, keep an eye on her for me? Cap'n would probably capsize us just to spite the fates if anythin' happened to her... and I'm not too fond of swimmin'..."

She turned to smirk towards her companion, before freezing up at the proximity, and quickly looking towards the deck, stepping away with an awkwardness she couldn't explain.

Probably to do with that infernal insect and its blatant lies and accusations...

"So make y'self at home... and stuff. You know... I just need to... uh... check the... rigging..."

She trailed off as she sidled away to a quiet corner of the ship.

Pavisa

Blushing slightly as Kingfisher wandered off, Pavisa turned her head away and brought a hoof up to rub the back of her neck.  What...  What was that about?  Bloody hell, why is it so awkward now...  Granted Pavisa had been awkward around Kingfisher for a little while before the caves too, but they hadn't spoken much since the cave-in...  Or since that damn changeling went and ran its mouth.

Sparing a brief glance back towards the other mare, Pavisa swallows nervously before quickly glancing away.  What, is she embarrassed by me?  Stupid bug, who gave it the right...  That's it, if we ever get a quiet moment to ourselves, I'll just...  I'll come clean, if I'm lucky we can at least stay friends.  Shaking her head and groaning quietly, Pavisa wanders off in the other direction a short distance to direct her attention towards the Pegasus that Fisher had introduced as Minty and the pink mare she was speaking with.

She's important to the captain, huh?  Keep an eye on her...  I can do that much, at least.  Sighing quietly, Pavisa shakes her head again and starts to walk towards the pair of them.  No sense in trying to keep an eye out for the mare without speaking to her...  She wanted to come across as friendly after all, not creepy.

Midnight Sky

"Yeah, it was our only option at the time though. Ammy was also more or less amiable towards us, she was rude but not mean. And I wouldn't exactly call her subtle. At the very least she seemed as intent on stopping the collision of the worlds as the rest of us, and she seemed to also be upholding her end of the deal we made in the beginning for her cooperation. And she even seemed to become more pony-like over time, though Ammy made it obvious she wasn't fond of it." Midnight said in defense of Amethyst. She may have been a handful and a bit harsh, but she had helped them immensely when it came to understanding what exactly was happening. "And I must add that that song of your, whatever it may be, was just as helpful. It almost seemed like it would warn us whenever there was trouble that we couldn't notice normally, and it even led us out of those horrid caves. Though from what we saw when we passed by your crashed train car, I'd say your assumption is correct. And I doubt Ammy would hinder us, she may have had ulterior motives alongside helping save the worlds, but I doubt she would go directly against us." Midnight said remembering the three separate occasions in which the song had saved their lives, first with the Litany, then in the cabin, and later in the caves.

"If you'd like I can tell you what I learned from Ammy and the other ethereals we encountered later once this ship is under way and everypony is settled down. And perhaps you could share some of your knowledge with me as well." Midnight said, hoping Bardic would agree. It had been so long since Midnight had spoken to a pony with a vast amount of knowledge as Bardic, and he was intrigued as to what this pony knew about magic, because he clearly knew of magics that were above his own level. Following Bardic's gaze Midnight noticed him looking in Mirror's direction, and he had a good guess as to what he was thinking. "Don't worry, things will smooth over with time. Fisher's just holding a grudge about being held hostage, my sister and I should be able to convince the others to not be so biased against Mirror and the changeling, at least gradually. We'll need to work together to succeed." Midnight said, determined to not make a liar out of himself. Mirror wasn't a bad pony, they just traveled in opposing groups for a while, and he hoped the others would see that too in time.

Pavisa

@,

@@Windbreaker,

Pavisa blinks a couple times at Minty's question, turning her gaze towards the Pegasus in question.  "Pegasus?  What Pega- oh, him..."  She opened her mouth about to explain before hesitating, looking back to the others.

None of those she was talking to knew about 'Tactic', or what the creature really was.  Part of the ex-guard was telling her just to say it outright and get it into the open:  it was bound to come out eventually, anyways.  But part of her was also saying that announcing there was a changeling in their midst to these ponies she didn't know may not be the best idea...  Better to let someone better with words, like Redwave or Bardic, to put something like that out there.

Realizing she'd been standing there avoiding the question, Pavisa shakes her head a couple times before starting to back up.  "That one is dangerous.  Just...  Don't go near it.  There's more to it than its boring appearance.  Oh, and you're better off not trusting anything it says."  Feeling awkward about trying to dodge the question, Pavisa shakes her head again before gesturing away from the group.

"Er, I should go, don't be shy if you need anything though."  She quickly backs away before sighing quietly, turning and moving to look over the side of the ship.  That was...  Terribly awkward.  Even when the bug isn't doing anything to me, it's still giving me trouble.

The bard spoke with a volume louder than the movement if his mouth might suggest - calling down towards the mare. He smiled reassuringly at her before looking back to Midnight.

@@Icy Void,

"For months, it whispered promises and threats to me: do not trust what you might have heard. Did it mention perhaps, the corruption?" The lanky stallion turned and gestured widely across the churning sky. "Those creatures either and corrupt everything around them, they taint out world by their very presence. Do not assume that they wish to help in any way - they do not understand honesty or truth - only survival. I am not suggesting that they are evil, only that they are certainly not our friends, regardless of how truthful the act may have seemed."

The journal which had been recovered flicked open to a half-full page: musical notes drawn, crossed out and rewritten many times over adorning it. He added a single note before closing it again.

"As for my songs, I doubt that the bardic arts would interest you. Most unicorns are loath to even believe in it, never mind distract the time and effort required to even come close to replicating simple spells. It was originally an earth pony skill, I believe. The magic of words is my passion, and learning that it had a literal application practically consumed me for a good number of years."

---------------

Kingfisher.

Unsure of exactly how best to avoid the awkward confrontation with Pavisa, set about preparing the ship to leave. Freeing the ropes from their bindings, the ship lurched slightly as the navigator felt a serenity born of familiarity wash over her: striding about the deck with a purposeful sternness that had been so difficult to a how've recently.

Leaping up for momentum, she heaved at the particularly stubborn halyard and watched as her weight offset the the sail, hoisting it into the air.

"Cap'n!" Shouted out the mare in a barely recognisable bark as she continued - thundering about the ship as Redwave smirked, and promptly joined the chaos - dealing with tasks that involved less climbing or heavy handedness. "Everythin' set? Too late to go back now!"

---------------

Redwave.

Pulling at several levers, a member of counterweights swung into action - followed promptly by the Captain swinging up to free one which had decided to catch against an untamed rope.

"Indeed, let us feel the sway of the ocean once again!" He jovially bellowed - seemingly forgetting all of his concerns at a moments notice as the vessel came to life. "Let us dream of another land!"

---------------

Scribe.

Scribe rocked with the sudden sway of the ship - almost colliding with the ponies around him. He scrambled up to peer out onto the deck, just in time to overhear Redwaved bravado.

The unicorn raised a hoof to his head - shaking it slightly as he closed his eyes and smirked.

"Sounds like more of an idiot than usual, is he always like this?" He wondered out loud to himself.

'What, and you can do better?'

Shut up!'

They weren't moving yet - but it looked like they were about to depart any minute now.

Minty Wintergreen

"Huh?" Minty frowned - why shouldn't she trust that pegasus? Is he a bandit? A thief? If he's not trustworthy.. why would they allow him onto the ship? Minty sighed, deciding to be quiet again until the ship began to move.

Minty instantly flew into the air because the rocking of the boat startled her, and slowly landed back onto the ship. Hopefully she wasnt seasick. Maybe she could just fly along with the ship instead of being on it. She suddenly thought of all the terrors that could happen on a ship. What if they crashed into an iceberg? Or a whale ate half the ship? What if pirates came and kidnapped them, and then a whale ate the ship? Minty suddenly felt queasy, deciding to just fly along instead.

Mirror Image

(OOC: I'd have sworn I had written a post last night, I must have closed it before hitting send. Sorry)

@,

Mirror looked up at the stallion as he called down to her and started to board the Dreamer. He seemed friendly enough. He might be a good pony to start with or possibly one of the ponies that weren't from the group. The mare looked up towards where Zintiik was sitting. Mirror looked out at the others. There were quite a few new faces here...Now who would be a good pony to start with?

Midnight Sky

Midnight nodded when Bardic mentioned the corruption. "She did actually, she explained how her kind are toxic to our world and we are toxic to hers. And Ammy was very insistent at making sure everypony understood that she wasn't our friend, but the fact that she really only cared about survival was the reason I trusted her. Because in he given circumstances helping was save both worlds was the best thing she could do to assure her own long-term survival. I even made sure that our deal to assure her assistance was worded with that in mind, while still getting what I wanted. But don't get me wrong, I understand fully what you're saying. If better option for her survival came along I have no doubt she would have jumped at the chance." Midnight said, realizing that he actually had trusted Amethyst a lot more than he thought he had. She may not of been their friend, but as an ally she had been very helpful. Looking down at Mirror, Midnight hoped she got along well with some of the newer ponies, since they didn't have any past experience with her they were more likely to trust her, which was what this ship needed a lot more of to reach it's full effectiveness.

"And I wouldn't be so sure. I never rule out the possibility of any form of magic's existence without very good evidence. And I tend to be drawn to the more obscure magics anyway, there aren't many ponies who can claim to have spent years studying and learning chaos magic, and fewer still who would admit to it. Besides, the ultimate goal of my research is to understand the most basic fundamental elements that link all forms of magic, which naturally requires and understanding of all forms of magic. So even if you just teach me the core principles of this bardic magic I could potentially apply the information in my research." Midnight said. He knew there probably wasn't time for him to figure out how to use this bardic magic, but if he could at least learn it's basic principles then perhaps he could apply them to other forms of magic. After all, his ability to link two otherwise unrelated things to create a stronger effect in magic is how he got his cutie-mark, how he created his sympathetic telepathy magic. And a form of magic based on words could have a lot of potential in cross magic mixing.

Gwyn

@,

@@Umbreon,

Normally, Gwyn would have introduced herself properly, but for some reason, she found herself staring at the other mare's horn. Somehow it didn't seem to fit with her body structure, which was more like an Earth Pony than a Unicorn, but then she was used to seeing Unicorns with similar body structures to her brother, who wasn't exactly a physically imposing stallion without his armour. When she saw the mare started to look uncomfortable, Gwyn flushed with embarassment, as she was under the impression that her staring was making things awkward.

"Ah! I'm sorry! i didn't mean to stare, ma'am. Sorry..." She said, half-turning away from the mare as the ship rocked. Caught by surprise, Gwyn ended up falling over on her side. "Whoa! Ow...That hurt."

Aegis

@

Aegis giggled mare-ishly at Scribe's confusion, as he tried to figure out Aegis' gender while pointing out where the peppers might be. Then a heavily armoured Pegasus saved him from having to figure it out. Still, he figured he should tell Scribe the truth before the joke became cruel.

Then the ship swayed, which Aegis wasn't prepared for. He tried to adjust his balance in time with the ship, but he still wound up running into a wall. When he regained his balance, he grabbed a pastry from one of the food boxes and headed up to the deck. He glanced around for a relaxing spot to sit, eat his pastry and relax 'til they needed him for something. To that end, he decided to consult Scribe once more.

"Hey again. Could you point me to a nice open spot on this ship where I can sit back and relax for a while?" He asked, again in his mare-ish voice. 'One more chance. If he can't guess it after this, I'll tell him the truth so he doesn't hurt himself.'

Pavisa

Trying to move her hooves in time to the rocking of the ship, Pavisa was glad she at least managed to stay upright.  Well, mostly, she may have gone to one knee briefly...  She didn't think anyone had noticed as she had gotten back to her hooves though.  Bloody hell, that's going to take some getting used to...  Hope the ship doesn't go the same path as the train did.  Turning her head to watch as Kingfisher and Redwave set about putting the ship out to sea, she smiles slightly at the sight.  The ex-guard had to admit that it certainly looked exciting...  She found herself fixated on the two sailors, as though just by watching she could start picking up the basics of what she would need to know one day.

Wandering a short distance away from the others, Pavisa continues watching the pair getting the ship moving.  As well as she could while trying to keep her balance on the rocking deck, at least.  Moving over to the side where she would be out of the way but still have a good view of what was going on, Pavisa lowers herself to a seated position...  Mostly so she wouldn't fall off her hooves and embarrass herself.

Zintiik

The lurch of the ship was enough to dislodge Zintiik from his perch on the ledge of the ship, sending him tumbling down to the water with a splash.  Sputtering as his head broke the surface the changeling glared up at the ship, grinding his teeth together.  I bet they did that on purpose...  A ridiculous thought, but by now the paranoid changeling was convinced they were all out to get him.

Spreading his wings and mumbling angrily under his breath, 'Tactic' pulls himself out of the water and flaps his wings a few times.  Lifting himself back up to the ship, he plants himself on the deck well away from the edge while turning his glare from one pony to the next.  Huffing quietly Zintiik shakes himself off like a dog to throw the water off of his coat, not willing to drop his illusion yet in order to make the process easier.  With another angry glare across the deck the changeling moves to go into the ship and go below deck - he may as well familiarize himself with the ship's hiding places, and at least they wouldn't be able to buck him into the water from down there...

Minty Wintergreen

"Oh my Celestia! Are you alright?" Minty gave a hoof to Gwyn, helping her up slightly. "How'd that happen? What were you thinking?" She instantly regretted saying that - it sounded awfully mean. Gwyn wouldn't mean to fall over, after all.

(( Awfully short post - hehe, needed to bump the thread again. I got used to posting for Willow, so I practically forgot how Minty acts.. xL ))

 Willow Starsinger

(( Notice the font color change. ^^ ))

"Where are those nitwits? How long has it been since they left me in here? Probably a month, maybe. They wouldn't care."  Willow wandered around the cave. She miraculously survived that.. well, how would you describe it, rock avalanche. She's just starving and has a few serious scratches, but other than that she didn't lose anything important, but she has been getting a lot more headaches lately and random surges through her horn.. she figured the Litany has finally settled in her body. Maybe it would help her break out of that damned cave.. somehow.
