My first brony meetup!

No, for one hand I haven't really had the time to go to one, and there aren't really many bronies around where I live (There is only one and its a girl :D) but I have just been succsesful in converting one of my friends into a brony just a couple of days ago!! I got him to watch an episode ("It Ain't Easy Being Breezie's" apparently that was the first episode he found...) and he really liked it! We hang out sometimes, so I guess that counts as a brony meetup. An actual meetup sounds very nice and it would be cool to go to one sometime. :yay:

I have been to several. Most of them were pleasant, if slightly awkward and it was just a group of guys sitting around watching and talking about ponies. And then there was that one time were someone got stabbed because he made a "applejack is a background pony" joke.

Nope - it'd be nice to go to one, but I don't have a mode of transportation, and I'm from Texas, where acceptance has been set back about 200 years in the past when compared to the rest of the U.S. :derp:

Seriously, I hate this state

I did and I hated it. i saw a brony with his pubes out  :eww:

I would have taken that over calling the police because they got in a fight over one of them calling AJ a background pony.

Was there an actual punch thrown?

One of them got stabbed with a pocket knife, the other got pummeled and hit with a chair.

And that is why I don't go to meetups in the industrial section anymore.

Well, you do have the Austin Bronycon. We Canadians pretty much only have the Vancouver one.

Why the fuck is every brony I meet IRL like a criminal or soon to be one? This is why I can't have nice things.

That was an extreme case, in a area of town that you really don't want to go to, as even kids lemon aid stands get robbed there. It seems like a lot of the more "normal" bronies want to hide the fact that they are one, or are only involved so much as to watch the show online, so they don't go to meetups because they would rather not be outed as a brony, or just don't care enough to go.

But seriously, stay away from the industrial sector in seattle.

I guess you could say my first "meetup" was a convention. Derpycon South. But the first meetup I went to in my area was to see the season 4 premier. The second was to go see Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And I will be going to another one to see How to Train Your Dragon 2. There are one or two in the group that can be a bit loud, but I'm use to that kind of thing because of my cousins. I have enjoyed each meetup so far, and I look forward to more.

Like, don't underestimate my power man.

It is a area of Seattle were they used to have industrial parks and large factories. It is largely abandoned by business now, but is home to tons of income based housing and projects. It is like the ghetto of Seattle.

Well, one of like 4.

I've been to quite a few, and the meetups in So Cal actually attract quite a few normal and likable people. There's only been once incident that really tripped warning/loser flags for me. Most of the time it's just a bunch of teenagers and collage students derping around. I guess it's because of the location, might differ in other places with less population.

What's sad is that I can actually see that happening. One year at comic con, in the main hall a few rows from me, a guy got stabbed with a knife . I later found out the somebody wanted his seat. The kicker was that the seat was terrible.

A want to go to a brony meetup one of these days.

Geez, talk about violent, sounds like some those bronies need some anger rage counseling.......

Out of pure curiosity, what do you mean by "loser flags"?

I've personally been to two. The first was a massive BBQ thingo which had around 25 odd people turn up, and it was freaking awesome. Seriously, there was enough food there to feed an army. The second one was a much smaller meetup at a coffee shop where a group of us played Cards Against Humanity and went to Timezone (an arcade) afterwards. While most seemed to be a lot more into stuff like Magic the Gathering than myself, they were still pretty fun nonetheless.
