Shadow had just gotten off of the train and her horn began to glow. Giving her a adequate view of her surroundings, Her solid white eyes were partially covered by her flat mane. She had her saddle bags on and a piece of paper that had braille on it. She looked around and began walking down the streets of Canterlot towards the castle

Happy was enjoying the sights of the regal city. On vacation, Happy felt free of responsibility. He could see the town. He spotted someone walking through the crowd and walked up to them. He decided to strike up arandom conversation with the unicorn who's eyes he couldn't see because of her mane. "Hi, how goes it? It's a nice day out isn't it?"

Shadow looked to the side "Yes... yes it is..." Shadow said wishing she could actually see it. She had her eyes covered because she wasn't that liked because of her strange look. Her white eyes usually scared foals and that angered someponies. So she kept them covered when she was in canterlot.

Happy frowned. "You ok? You seem sad, and I don't like when people feel sad." Happy put a hoof under his chin and pondered for a second. "Aha!" He put a hoof around the unicorn and pulled her close. He then pointed a hoof out at nowhere specific. "Let's go find something to cheer you up!" He turned to her, eyes closed and a goofy smile on his face.

"Its not that I'm sad... its just that I wish I could actually see Canterlot." Shadow said pushing her mane out of her eyes revealing her solid white eyes. She looked in Happy's direction and kinda knew he had a goofy smile. She chuckled before saying "Thank you for caring though"

Happy frowned when he heard her say she couldn't see Canterlot. He opened his eyes and he saw the mare's own. "Oh....So you can't see at all, huh? You're blind? Horseapples." Happy let go of the mare and dropped his head. He popped it back up and asked, "Say, what's your name? Are you from Canterlot?"

Shadow looked forward and said "My name is Shadow, I'm from Ponyville..." Shadow looked back to him and asked "Whats your name?" Shadow looked down and sighed. She looked back up and her horn began  to glow and she got a simple view of what was around her.

"Oh, that's interesting. Name's Happy Heart. Mundane unicorn from Baltimare. Nice to meet your acquaintance." Happy tapped a hoof to his chin and pondered for a moment. "So what are you in Canterlot for? If I may ask. I am here to see the new line of clothes at the fashion show. I know I may not wear them much, but they are quite nice to... look... at.... Oh damn...."

"I'm in Canterlot to meet a friend for a few days.... and what is wrong..." Shadow said before tilting her head. "I don't see a problem with a Stallion looking at dresses, it may not be normal for a stallion to be interested in dresses but there is nothing wrong with it." Shadow continued

(OMG! I thought I had replied to this! I'm so sorry!)

"No. No. This is for a line of new vests and suits. It's very rare for a fashion show for stalions seeing as our taste in clothing rarely changes, but this time somepony has created a quite spectacular line, so I'm told. And I always enjoy seeing what some of the designers come up with both in cut, folds, and style and how they blend, match, and accent on the mares fashion lines." Happy finally stopped rambling then gestured awkwardly at Shadow. His voice dropped and lost its enthusiasm. "I felt bad about talking about looking at fashion when you can't see."

"it is okay, you don't have to feel bad" Shadow said smiling. She looked in the direction of Happy and said "Even though I can't see I can use my magic to get somewhat of a view of my surroundings. I can see the outline of objects because my magic sends out.... oh you probably don't want to hear me ramble on about my magic..."

(Two weeks!?!? God damn...... Whooops......)

 

"Is it like echolocation?" Happy asked remember learning about bats in school. "If so that sounds cool. If you wouldn't mind, I'd love to go over it with you. I've been working with some ponies at the Gifted Unicorns school on a spell that allows me to help others amplify the effects of their spells. We're still trying to figure out some of the specifics, but they seem really interested in it. Feels normal to me since I've been doing it for years, but whatever." Happy shrugged.

"yes it is like echo location" Shadow said. She looked at him and said "School for Gifted Unicorns? I have never heard of a school for gifted unicorns before." She looked around for a second and looked back to him.

"Fascinating," Happy murmured. "I must say your magic is quite intriguing."  Happy pondered for a moment. "Would you like to visit the school? I wanted to talk to someone about our arrangement, and I doubt they'll  say anything about me bringing somebody along."

"That would be great!" Shadow said with a smile. "Where is this school?" She asked as she looked at Happy. "And Thank you, it took me years to master Echo Magic, well that's just what I call it." She said as she looked around with her magic to make sure she wasn't going to bump into anything.
