My mom's a high school teacher, but she'd also make a great stand-up comedian.
In 2011, Harold Camping predicted that the world would end on May 21 that year. Her students were worried. Mom wasn't, and the conversation went like this.
...but you have no idea how desperately I want it to be true.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is, bar none, my absolute favorite game of all time. But with every Paper Mario game after TTYD being lackluster at best, my hopes for this series weren't looking up. But if Nintendo decided to port TTYD to 3DS like they're doing for Xenoblade Chronicles...I would be in line to pre-order on day 1.
In the Age of Ancients the world was unformed, shrouded by fog. A land of grey crags, archtrees and everlasting dragons. This world of the past was a barren, grey landscape devoid of all life...but also devoid of death. The stone-scaled dragons appeared to have no beginning and seemingly no end...
And then there was Fire. And with Fire came Disparity. Heat and cold, life and death and, of course, light and dark. The light and dark are the First Flame and the Abyss respectively. Humans are bo

I've realized that I have walked myself into a trap, into a corner that I'll find it hard to escape from.
What is this trap? The Internet. ( Or is it society as a whole? )
Recently, I suppose the Internet has been a form of escape for me. I've been locked up in one house on a 2 acreage property for what, the past 10 years? Never in my whole life have I been allowed to speak to strangers. When I was very young, I would cheerfully chat with random strangers wh
The Soviets were our allies just last year. Amazing how long these friendships seem to last in the world stage.
Nat King Cole, For Sentimental Reasons.
The road to BABSCon has been quite an adventure thus far.
Looking back at how I made my decision to travel clear across the United States to attend this convention I realize that my participation in this event can be traced to one person: Simon. In a move that would make Flim and Flam proud, Simon needled me relentlessly about going. As early as our second Skype conversation the man was pitching the Con as the second coming of Celestia. I heard of nothing else for a time, and finally I relen
Very soon I will be posting Dark Souls lore but right now it is 5am and I still have to go to bed. It's something I'm passionate about and so it seems like the perfect subject for my blog. If there's anything in particular you'd like me to cover, just post it here or PM me. Watch this space!
Dumb cat is home! And at the rate that he's costing us, he better start shitting gold. Like yesterday.
Sigh. At least he's home. And alive. And some bank exec is making a very nice living off the credit we've used saving Dumb Ass's life. He's also got these stylin' bald spots on his legs where they did ...vet things. He also gets special (expensive) food from now on. Lucky him. He will forever be fed in the crate of shame.
Where's my special food? I want special food.
I think this week ju
Ah, Twilicorn. Nothing ever shook this fandom up quite like giving Twilight Sparkle a pair of wings, a longer horn, and a slightly taller body type.
Or at least that's what I've been led to believe.
I actually didn't join the fandom until around April 2013—after season 3 had already ended. While all the anti-Twilicorn flame wars were raging all over the net, I was just starting to get to know Twilight and all the mane six as I watched through the first season with a fair bit of skepticis
There's something I've never understood. It's quite simple really.
How exactly do you just 'make' friends?
People will say "Just strike up a conversation with someone." Well...like what? They say that like it's easy. How exactly can I just spout some random stuff and expect a friendship or conversation out of it? It'll just end up feeling awkward and unnatural. I've tried it before.
For me, I think my friendships have to be formed causally. No hardcore hunting or digging, no forced c
Hey guys! It's been a really long while since I posted in this blog in particular, but I need some advice.
Several days ago, my mom saved a pug from getting euthanized at 10 AM the next evening. They were going to euthanize her for no apparent reason, because no one came and took her in. Mom felt sorry for Roxy (that's her name), and now she lives over here temporarily since we are moving into an apartment soon.
Now here's the problem. As of two days ago, let's just say my cat, Sophie, i

There are going to be people who won't believe what the Allies found in Poland. Sometimes the truth can be far more horrifying than what the human mind is capable of writing in fiction. I wonder, had the war never started, had we never fought Germany, how many more would have died? How much longer would Hitler's genocide have gone on?
But as I speak, millions of war widows and orphans around the world would gladly give away the future of Europe just to bring back the ones they lost. Are they
Two medical students were walking along the street when they saw an old man walking with his legs spread apart. He was stiff-legged and walking slowly. One student said to his friend: "I'm sure that poor old man has Peltry Syndrome. Those people walk just like that."
The other student says: "No, I don't think so. The old man surely has Zovitzki Syndrome. He walks slowly and his legs are apart, just as we learned in class."
Since they couldn't agree they decided to ask the old man. They appro

Well, I spent quite a bit getting this done. Hopefully after this, I can take a small break for the month of April, and just live life a little. Nevertheless, today, we're going to review the PS3/PS4 exclusive, The Last of Us. If you guys enjoy it, please go the extra mile and leave a like on the video page. Also, tell me what you think about this game if you've ever experienced it! I'd love to discuss it with you.
(I'm slightly cheating again. As before, this song was most likely recorded in 1943, but it topped the charts in 1944. It counts.)
The Allies have officially stormed into France. Victory is within arm's reach. No pessimism now, we WILL take Berlin. It's not an "if," it's a "when." And what happens when we take Berlin? I'll let Crosby and the Andrews Sisters explain that part.
There'll be a Hot Time in the Town of Berlin. Let's finish this.
