  1. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. --Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. http://americanrhetoric.com/speeches/mlkihaveadream.htm
  2. I really like the way you read, and you have a very nice speaking voice. I hope you don't think me too forward if I make a suggestion. The next time you record your voice, try it without rolling back the bass. You may find that it's more dynamic and natural sounding. Just for example, I'm attaching a short clip I recorded for practice, using a pro-grade condenser mic. I deliberately distorted my voice in the first part. After that, it's just my voice and the microphone direct with no eq. EFR pro 2.flac
  3. Even with all the crazy, nasty, harsh stuff that was my adolescence, this song still makes me laugh. My absolutely guiltiest pleasure.
  4. The inspiration for this music video came from old pre-Hayes Office Betty Boop theatrical cartoons. The animation here is a little "stiff" (strobing), mostly because there were techniques peculiar to Boop cartoons that the animators here were not familiar with. It's still fun to watch, though. Here's original Boop cartoons to compare it to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qq17wODD88M
  5. "For Pony!" --Richard, Lord of the Thirteen Hells After the last of 16 mounting screws have been removed from the access cover, it will be discovered that the wrong access cover has been removed. --De La Lastra's Law
  6. Happiness isn't a fixed point that you can simply run toward... it's a constantly moving force that we will lose sight of from time to time. In those long stretches between sightings we are forced to practice patience. When we aren't practicing it's because we're already in it. I'm not practicing today. --Shane Koyczan

  8. That's part of what I love about the show. The best episodes are off the charts, and the not-as-good ones are never a total loss.
  9. If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you; If you can trust yourself when all [others] doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or, being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise; If you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with triumph and disaster And treat those two imposters just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to broken, And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools; If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breath a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on"; If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch; If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all [people] count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run - Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son! --Rudyard Kipling
