I know now that it's black and blue, but I still see it as white and gold. I can make myself see the blue if I look hard enough, but the black always looks gold to me.

What do you think your OC would look like with Rainbow Power?

Funnily enough, a few days ago I redrew my OC, Sweet Style, and tweaked her design slightly in the process. The changes aren't extremely obvious, but most significantly I made her 'default' mane style the one that was originally her alternate mane style, because the original was a bit too Applejack-y for my liking. (it would have been okay if not for her freckles and yellow hair!) I decided to keep the pink bow, but moved it to a different position. The smaller changes are a bit harder to pick up on, but if you can tell, I gave her mane more volume, removed some lines in her tail (because it was originally a bit too complicated) and changed the colour of the camera flash in her cutie mark. (because the original colour wasn't featured anywhere else on the design and looked strange) The new design is on the left! See if you can tell the difference.

All good, don't worry about it!

Unfortunately this isn't actually a request shop! But I might consider opening one at some point. Sorry about that!

I decided to redraw Sweet Style (one of the original OCs I posted in this thread!) because I felt that I had improved a lot since I first drew her. I'm really happy with how the new version turned out! Here's the new one next to the old one for comparison!

Draw a pony in 60 seconds

This is a fun idea! I decided to go with Fluttershy. Unfortunately, I ran out of time before I could give her a tail. -
Unicorn with wings - NOT Alicorn
Salacberry replied to Varian Dusk's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I do think that the other races would gain wings if they became bat ponies. I know this isn't the best example, but when the mane six transformed into Breezies, all of them got wings. Obviously the circumstances were different, but it is notable that Rarity received wings despite being a unicorn, and that therefore she technically had both magic and flight while in that state. Just as wings are a defining characteristic of Breezies, I believe that they are also a defining characteristic of bat ponies. My reasoning clearly isn't completely valid, but yeah, I do think that a pony that transformed into a bat pony would have wings regardless of its original race. -
New OC! This one was inspired by sunset, and he's the counterpart of my sunrise-inspired OC. They're rivals, but I haven't developed either of them much yet!

How do you determine your OC's colors?
Salacberry replied to Tom Snyder's topic in Original Character Help
I somehow ended up using a different method for each of my OCs! Sweet Style- I knew that she would be a model, and I felt that golden hair would emphasise that. I chose a pale cream for her body, because I wanted her to have a soft, gentle appearance. The pink (used for her eyes, ribbons, cutiemark and magic aura) accented the yellow colours nicely and enhanced the femininity of her design. Ivy Swirl- She was the last of three characters that I originally designed for a school project, and I felt that orange worked well with the blue and pink colour schemes of the over two. I chose green for her eyes and cutiemark to create contrast within the design. Unnamed pegasus (in spoiler)- I came across a a photo of a really pretty sunrise, and it inspired me. -
Thank you everyone! Haha I was actually thinking along the lines of Sunrise or Rising Sun too! They're definitely nice names, so maybe I'll just use one of those. Thank you for your suggestions!

This is such an amazing piece! I love the detail in the mane, and I also like the way you shaded the moon. Very impressive!

I drew a new OC! She helps to arrange clouds in the morning and often creates patterns to make sunrise look pretty! She doesn't have a name yet, so suggestions are welcome. I'm happy with how this one turned out!

How come nopony has an earth pony OC?
Salacberry replied to Colorful Respawn's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I think the majority of OCs are unicorns or pegasi because people are enticed by the prospect of flight or magic, which are exciting because they are not human abilities. However, ultimately, the merits of a character are their personality, backstory and development. Race should not be the defining trait. Personally, I think those that view earth pony OCs as 'boring' seem to be focusing on the 'flashy' attributes of their characters rather than the actual substance. If the difference between boring and interesting is the presence or absence of flight/magic, this indicates that perhaps the character needs to be fleshed out more. This is why it is often seen as more challenging to roleplay as an earth pony; you can't rely on flashy abilities to define your character. Of course, there is absolutely nothing wrong with having unicorn and pegasi characters- I have some myself. But my main point is that your OC's race isn't their most important characteristic. Earth ponies are not automatically boring; it's up to you to make them special in your own way. -
Aw thank you! I'm glad you guys like the chibi style! Luna might be next.

Aw thank you so much, I'm glad you like them.

I just finished a drawing of another one of my OCs. Her name is Ivy Swirl, and her special talent is deception. (she lies extremely well and can tell when others are lying) I'm pretty pleased with how this drawing came out, especially comparing it to the first two in this thread! I haven't been able to draw for a while due to being in my final year of high school but I recently finished so I have a lot more spare time!

No problem, I'm glad you like it!

You have such a cute character, I couldn't resist drawing her! It's a bit rough, but I hope you like it!

Abscond. I first heard it my law class, and I don't know why but I find it to be an extremely funny word. Nowadays I use it almost daily just because it's funny, but as a joke and not in a proper context.
