I don't have anywhere near as convenient an excuse for disappearing. Instead a friend of mine introduced me to Dragon Age: Origins and I've been hooked playing that all week. Stupid fun fantasy games.

Ghost Stories, Folklore, Legends and the Generally Supernatural

You have an interesting mind, Captain Marvelous. Suddenly now I'm imaging the Old Spice guy, sitting on a horse, holding a knife in one hand and my life in the other. That's a bit creepy. -
Wow this place has been busy. I've only been gone half a week and we already finished the second fund drive, got a member picture album, and filled it with art! Bronies really are amazing creatures.

It does give some interesting glimpses into Equestrian history though. Seeing from the way Luna talks and behaves, it tells us a bit about how life in the kingdom must have been a thousand years ago. And her knowledge of ancient and obscure wizards, probably not so ancient in her time of course, but it does give a picture of the old world. I can almost imagine a medieval Equestria. That would be interesting...

Rare mounts are pretty fun, really. They give people fun little show off things for their accomplishments. If you raid, there's mounts you can get, if you pvp there's mounts you can get, if you quest or do holidays there's mounts you can get. Whatever you like doing in the game there's a mount for it. It's pretty cool really. You can tell a lot about a person by the type of mount they ride. What they like to do the most, what they've accomplished. I put a lot of work into my mount collection. Guess it's kinda pointless in the end, since I don't use it anymore. But still, it was pretty awesome while I played.

Anypony know any defence fighting techniiques?
Tyroq replied to Goodra's topic in General Discussion
Well, I had a defense class at college a few years back. We didn't do anything for offensive skills, so I can't give you any tips for attacking, but there are a number of tricks for twisting out of attacks someone else throws at you. There's one, the best way to avoid a hook punch, is to stand sideways to the attacker, and as he throws a punch, bring up your closest arm fast to deflect it, then twist and grab his wrist as it passes, at the same time rotating back on the ball of your closest foot. Plant your other foot when it comes all the way around, then quickly extend your free hand into his shoulder and push. His own momentum plus that should be enough to send him to the ground, then you have the advantage. As far as wrestling moves, you probably know plenty of those. I can twist out of a few, but again not so much with delivering attacks. I'm mostly good at getting away. Oh yeah, and this is a bit of a dirty trick, but you know a solid knuckle jab to the chest, right at the center base of the rib cage, where that soft fleshy part is, can really stun an attacker for a moment. Hurts too. -
Nice list there. I only played since Burning Crusade, but still got 3 years in before I called it quits this spring. I had... 85 shaman 85 death knight 85 hunter 73 death knight 70 paladin and a dozen or so mid-level characters of all the other classes. Had about 60k gold in cash between all mine, but I also had almost a hundred mounts on my main, including a mechanohog and other expensive ones. It was fun. I was a raider for a while, but after Wrath my guild fell apart, I ended up server transferring, and was never able to get into solid raiding with Cata. I wanted to do Firelands so bad for the Legendary staff, but was never able to get geared enough or find a solid guild, so I ended up quitting. Most of my friends had quit by then too, so WoW had lost its appeal to me. Sometimes I think about resubbing again, but right now I'm building up for The Old Republic. One MMO at a time is enough for me.

Maybe he hacked the site. I smell another robot! http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

Neither do I anymore, but it's still news worthy of being shared for any who actually are interested. -_- Actually, you have enough time on your hands. Maybe a big game to sink time into would be good for you.

Hang on... he's in Blank Flanks, so how is it that he has an avatar already? Anyway, yes welcome of course.

Oh, not at all. In fact it was with the intention of providing a nice greeting that this whole discussion got started. Anyway, I'm sure Dark Bison now feels quite at home here, and that whatever he says can't possibly be any crazier than some of us already are. So now he'll feel free to be himself and fit right in!

Well, glad I could save you from boredom. Anyway, I'm here with news. Blizzard kicked off this year's Blizzcon today with a couple big announcements about upcoming games. The new WoW expansion, Mists of Pandaria, being one of them. Personally I stopped playing WoW a couple months ago and am eagerly awaiting The Old Republic. But still, WoW news is always interesting. I sank 3 years into that game, so I'm always curious to see where it's going these days. A snippet from one of the articles on WoW Insider... "The moment we've all dreaded (or eagerly anticipated, that's up to you) is here: the pandaren will be playable in the upcoming Mists of Pandaria expansion. Here's the kicker: they'll be playable by both factions, which means Blizzard really has thrown out the silhouette theory they've stood by for years. We saw that coming with transmogrification, though. It isn't much of a surprise. The choice as to whether you're Alliance or Horde doesn't happen at character creation, though. The choice will come after you've played through the introductory quest chain for your character. Once the stage has been set and you see where the lines of war have been drawn, you will choose which faction represents your interests best. Exciting? Oh yes."

Wow, not even a full page here since I got off last night. Well, we can't have that, now can we?

That difference is only skin deep. So basically, you admit to being a robot.
-
I didn't know robots used computers. Isn't that like having an affair for you? To be all over that hunk of technology like that?
-
What, you get your RAM upgraded or something and wanna show off now?
-
Shh. You scared the crickets.
