  1. Being from a lively Puerto Rican family, my native language is Spanish. However I spent so much time learning and speaking English that my brain kinda rewired itself to think in that language and now I sometimes struggle to articulate things in Spanish. My fellow Puerto Ricans often refer to me as a gringo.
  2. Celestia gets killed in a battle against a bunch of Nightmare Moon clones, Twilight loses her mind, and the rest of the Mane 6 merge together into a planet-sized mega pony with godlike powers. Then every pony in Equestria hallucinates their greatest wish coming true before melting into orange goo. All of this happens while a slower, sadder version of Pinkie's Smile Song plays in the background.
  3. Too Many Pinkie Pies, during the paint drying test. It was a funny scene and I wasn't exactly pissed off at the show, but I was quite baffled that Twilight would resort to such harsh means to solve the problem, and even more so that the writers were seemingly not aware of the implications. I mean, based on what the episode told us, those clones were sentient beings and Twilight was killing them off, and on top of that she could have easily zapped Pinkie by mistake. Meanwhile, we had Spike watching the carnage while munching popcorn and Rainbow Dash checking her watch because her friend's life-or-death struggle was apparently not exciting enough for her. What the heck was going on in that scene?
  4. I usually listen to music for inspiration, and for whatever reason walking around in circles like a nutcase helps keep the creative juices flowing. Mind you, I only do this when I'm alone because I'm aware I look ridiculous doing it.
  5. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was the biggest gaming disappointment of my life. Felt less like I was playing a Zelda game and more like I was playing a lifeless imitation of one. Other than that unfortunate case I'm usually happy with the games I purchase.
  6. When we die, our consciousness is transferred directly onto our MLP Forums account, where we are doomed to live forever in a pastel-colored digital hell of our own creation. I know this is true because I'm actually dead right now and have been for the past 17 minutes.
  7. Maybe it's because I have slightly effeminate mannerisms, but I am frequently mistaken for gay, so I can definitely relate. Come to think of it, I've only ever been hit on by men. Strange, creepy men who are all older than me by at least two decades. Most of the time I'm not sure if I should feel flattered or terrified.
  8. I used to be. A couple of years ago I was convinced it was my life's calling, and I'd churn out scripts and stories like a madman. Later I realized I was a terrible writer and my self-esteem took a massive nosedive. Nowadays I'm on a roll if I can even manage a page per month. My heart isn't in it anymore. Hoping to change that eventually, though.
  9. I'm gonna go ahead and echo the above user in that my favorite movie is 2001: A Space Odyssey. Another contender is The End of Evangelion, but I feel uneasy putting it at the top spot since it doesn't work as a standalone film. I don't really think much about my least favorite since all the clunkers I've seen just kinda blend together. However, if you push me to name a critically acclaimed movie I don't like, Breathless comes to mind.
  10. The subject of my bronydom once came up within earshot of my mother and she was quick to voice her disapproval. Don't recall what she said exactly, but it was the usual "Why do you like that shit?" response. She doesn't know about FiM so she likely thought I was referring to the old cartoon. I couldn't be bothered to correct her though. It was too amusing.
  11. Twilight is my fave. She's the one that took the longest to grow on me, but when she poked herself in the eye while making a Pinkie Pie Swear, she totally had me.
  12. I'm kind of a rookie in the world of anime myself, and I don't really know what you're looking for, but I'll try: Gunbuster might be a decent start, and for one good reason - it's short. At 6 episodes you could watch the whole thing in about 2-3 hours. Just keep in mind that it starts off rough and doesn't actually become good until episode 3. It also contains some completely unwarranted nudity, but depending on the viewer this may not be an issue. I'll also second everyone who said Cowboy Bebop. Everything about it is practically designed to achieve maximum appeal for western audiences, so check it out. Other favorites of mine are The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Neon Genesis Evangelion, but I'm not sure I'd recommend these to beginners since they can be very unconventional and demanding. But if you're the adventurous type then jump right in.
  13. M.A. Larson will be missed, no doubt, but I'm equally disappointed in the lack of Cindy Morrow. She's great at slice-of-life stuff. Still, no reason to fret. Having new blood on the writing team is always exciting. No idea what to expect from them!
  14. Hello, bronies and pegasisters! Let me just start by saying I wasn't immediately a fan of this show. I checked it out based on the commotion it was causing online, and while watching the first half of S1, my cold-hearted cynical self just couldn't figure out what the appeal was. "Sure, it's cute," I'd tell myself. "But there's not much there for adults to chew on." Then around episode 14 something in me clicked (or broke) and I've been loving it ever since. Can't explain it. Not sure I want to. Been exploring the fandom lately, and all I can say is... You guys are the best. Keep doing what you're doing! AND WHAT THE HELL CLARITY WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DESTROY SOMETHING PURE I HATE YOU WTF WTF WTF
