Today is a great day!
- Walked 12 1/3 miles.

Had a delicious, guilt-free charcuterie plate as dinner. Lettuce cups and Dijon mustard on the side with following on the spread:
a. Pickled Brussels sprouts (allegedly spicy) and pickled artichoke hearts.
b. Baked sweet potato.
c. Babybel cheese and cheddar cheese.
d. Carrots, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers.
e. Boneless, Chinese-style marinated pork loin and mushrooms.And no guilt whatsoever.

Earlier, I found out I lost my 125th pound in a three-plus-year span.

*sigh* Another hot day, another great walk. Got 10 1/3 miles in today.

"Waiting in the Wings" from Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure helped songwriter Alan Menken become one of nineteen to achieve the EGOT. He won a Daytime Emmy with that song.

Because I live in NYC, I was near the path of totality. At its peak, 90% of the sun was blocked.
To say it was incredible was an understatement. I saw the partial eclipse in 2017; while that was incredible, this was more awe-inspiring. It's something I have never seen before.
Did I notice some differences as the moon blocked the sun? You bet.
1. The temperature dropped about 10 degrees.
2. The sky became darker, less vibrant, and saw some street lamps turn on.
3. The shadows sharpened.
The clouds cooperated just enough for me to witness it.
What a great treat as I approach my birthday, which is this Wednesday.

Sucks that Billy Wagner missed by five votes, but with a good chunk of voters having three (or four, if voted for Sheffield) ballots slots cleared, he has a shot to get in. Plus, next year is his last, so hopefully he'll get a boost (ala Tim Raines, Edgar Martinez, & Larry Walker, all of whom got in at the end). 🤞
