  1. lolol

eeyp the ssd is made by toshiba .

I was upset when I saw that apple is using cheap alternatives.

Toshiba is one of the largest memory manufacturers in the world. They sell primarily to OEM and thus do not have a large consumer facing presence like Samsung. Their drives are still very high quality and they are the only reason why the OCZ name still exists.

As a result, OCZ is making reliable SSDs for the first time. Unprecedented.

  2. I honestly don't see what the big deal is. So I come back and there's a million status updates. I scan through them and check the ones I'm interested in and move on.

I'm glad people post whatever is on their mind (so long as it isn't a mindless attack on someone else) even if I don't agree with it. Point of a forum -- encourage discussion, right? People seem get upset over everything, so good on you for not worrying about what others think.

  3. I should see if all my hardware manufacturers have any new drivers.

I am actually running on a HDD.

Yes, I have done a diagnostic. Except restarting the system added another problem, it gave me a "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" BSOD.

It's rather worrying that you have so many BSODs... if you haven't done so already, might want to verify your Windows install isn't corrupted:

SFC /SCANNOW at an administrative command prompt, in safe mode if you can't boot normally.

  4. Does your rig look really outrageous or flashy or something? If it's just a plain black tower, I doubt it would be any more of a target than the Dell. I wouldn't worry too much about someone walking off with something that weighs as much as a full tower. I have enough trouble moving mine a couple feet let alone down flights of stairs. I ended up just replacing it with a laptop and had that cable-locked to my desk. Never really had any trouble with that either.

I'd bring the beefy machine, but then again I brought a steel full-tower gaming machine to college too.

    Just my 2c.
