  1. I skimmed through your backstory and I'm wondering why you want to get rid of your magic. Is it because you're afraid it's overpowered? This is a modern world, magic is outdated. It's still pretty useful though. Imagine magic like swords. Swords are somewhat outdated to guns, unless you're extremely talented with them. Then swords could be even BETTER then guns because they aren't hard to maintain. This is what magic is like. Keep in mind though that machines have jammers that can stop a unicorns magic, and anti-pegasus weapons that can shoot down or paralyze pegasi. As long as magic is her only weapon, it's okay. If it gets to be a little too much, I'll inform you. I also wanted to ask you, if you do join, would you be okay with recruiting a few people? If you get a few more players in here, Id consider making you a co-GM. If this happened, I'd set up a PM in which you could have a say on the roleplays affairs. This would require you to be committed, however. As you can tell, I worked very hard on this RP. I don't know what it is, but I was expecting people to be flocking in... But they really haven't. Maybe I just posted it at the wrong time? Anyhow I could really use help with it.
  2. Uh if this OC isn't fit for this RP than I don't know which one is. She's perfect, just follow the guidelines and write a short paragraph when you have the time. I'm not going to tell you what kind... That'll require you to read the roleplay
  3. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ It all started with the crowning of Queen Twilight Sparkle, after Celestia passed down her godly powers to her successor. With the ability to now raise the sun and moon at will, Celestia and her sister Luna slowly disappeared from existence as Twilight took her new place as the ruler of the country. She was a great ruler, who put more democratic laws into place, and built up a army so that Equestria no longer needed to depend on the Elements of Harmony. Threats were building outside the countries borders that made this action necessary, as long as Twilight remained a completely sane and fair ruler. Unfortunately time deteriorated Queen Twilight's sanity. Years and years past, but Twilight didn't age due to the cursed immortality passed on to her. Her parents died, then her brother, then her friends, and their children, and their children's children. Meanwhile Equestria grew, but Twilight slowly descended into madness and paranoia. This was a flaw Celestia overlook. This flaw stayed hidden for awhile, Equestria grew rapidly. Cities grew bigger and technology advanced into something you'd see in our world. Slowly Equestria depended more on technology, and so did the military. Twilight over time, slowly focused more efforts on the military, and expanding Equestria's borders. Equestria became more of a military state than anything, with Twilight at it's head. When Equestria went to war with it's southern border, Twilight became a military dictator instead of a peaceful and diplomatic monarch like she once was. Equestria wanted to expand their southern border, and went to war bringing everything they could. They brought tanks, artillery, machine guns, planes, you name it- but it wasn't enough. Twilight and her hunger for power wanted something more deadly. She aggressively pressured her top military scientists to make something bigger, something scarier, something that didn't risk more of her soldiers lives. The only answer her scientists came up with was; The Machine. Robots would be built using undeveloped Artificial Intelligence technology, all of which had the capability to kill the enemy. These machines ranged from bugs that could crawl around in tunnels and into small openings, to massive monsters that could be 50 feet tall with deadly gatling guns. In air, on ground, or in the sea, The Machines were a deadly force on the battlefield. Large factories were built with self automated systems that pumped out at least 100 machines a day to be shipped out south. The Equestrian blue sky was filled with debris from the war in the south, and the smoke from these factories. The war was close to being won, and it came with ease, at the cost of hundreds of lives. The military state of Equestria, with Dictator Twilight at the helm, was near sucess. When things couldn't get any better for Twilight, the machines turned. Their undeveloped A.I.'s were much stronger than they thought. Soon the machines decided to kill not just the enemy, but ALL ponies. They went on a rampage, first killing soldiers on the battlefield, but then marching north back to Equestria. The army tried everything in their power to stop them, but their numbers grew as the factories also continued to pump out more evil machines without pony interference. Twilight was soon defeated, along with the rest of the country. Everything was destroyed via corrupt machines and weapons turned against them. Missile codes were hacked into by The Machine, even after killing most ponies in the country, and destroying almost everything. Soon the entire country was barraged by it's own missiles, flattening and killing anything that remained (including hundreds of machines). Soon the country fell into a dark abyss... Surviving animals and ponies scavenge their new apocalyptic world, as quite a few machines still search the ruins for ponies to kill with their advanced systems. With all the factories dormant, the military gone, country non-existence, and Twilight dead... The country falls into a new age. The Age of The Machine. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Welcome to Age of the Machine, a reboot of a 300+ Page roleplay from a site I roleplayed on in the past. It's a dark post-apocalyptic roleplay, full of action, non-stop suspense, and drama. If you aren't into these things, you may not want to join. To keep these factors I listed off, this is a advanced roleplay. It's not marked as advanced because I feel that scares people off, and is somewhat pointless. Another reason why is because it isn't about quantity, but quality. I want this roleplay to not be the type of roleplay that is dormant because everybody is writing 5000 words for their next response. Please let your posts be interesting, and have detail. This will keep things moving and encourage people to post. This all also means that some may not be accepted, please don't take offense to this. When joining this roleplay, please be devoted to keeping it alive, and be the type of person who posts frequently instead of every few days. This roleplay is very important to me and will be to many others as well. The Roleplay will be organized with objectives. At the top of every one of my posts, the objective will be posted. You must follow this objective in order to run smoothly, however when you follow is completely up to you. This will allow room for the roleplay to break into another group or allow more freedom. Please INFORM in the OOC if you wish to not follow the objective. The objective DOES have a purpose, so this isn't going to be too frequent of a thing. I have a lot of experience running roleplays. Long ago in the past I learned a lesson about trying to be too controlling over the roleplay. So don't be intimidated. This roleplay will be the perfect balance of freedom and leading the plot. As for details not filled in by the above, here's a short paragraph filling in some details; You're a survivor. You're OC survived the missiles falling, and the attack of the machines, during these 5 years. Your OC could have even born in the midst of the apocalypse. The Machines still roam the streets, not in massive numbers, but they are present. Machines have spread out evenly across Equestria. -The bulk of them are the Enforcers, large 20ft tall machines that walk on 2 legs, and are equipped with one bright red eye that senses heat signatures and movement. They have a large M134 Minigun with nearly endless ammo. If that fails they'll step on you or ram into your buildings. They have a steel shell around their eye and gun and are almost completely bullet proof. Their weakness is their eye. If shot, it could make them blind. A even better shot at the eye, in the direct middle, could pierce it's motherboard and activate it's self-destruct. This is extremely hard. They are relentless, stubborn, and are mostly independent but have the ability to call a few buddies. Enforcers make up 80% of all machines. -The next most present machine are Buggers. They come in many forms, but mostly all have one objective. They crawl around in the ruins, can dig tunnels, and have large colonies of other Buggers. If you spot one, there is no doubt there are more nearby. They are never found in the open, they are mostly in old buildings, or underground. They are the weakest machine, and can be killed with a few shots from a pistol. If you kill one, they let out a metallic scream that calls more buggers, which makes them extremely lethal. They have 6 sharp legs that stab and cut the victim. They aren't very clever, they were only made to raid bunkers. Buggers make up 10% of all machines. -Hawks are deadly and should be feared and avoided at all costs. Large bird-like machines with 2 M134 Gatling guns on each large metallic wing, the ability to spread deadly chlorine gas, and possibly drop bombs (depending on if they have any left). They are extremely smart, can hack computers, figure out ways to sneak into the most concealed places, and don't have any mercy for any other machines or ponies. They kill for sport, and are the most advanced of all machines. They were the first to corrupt, and it's believed they started the turn of all machines. They make up 5% of all machines. -The last 5% is made up of various prototypes, or machines in short supply. The rest can be discovered during the course of the roleplay. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ - Please be ACTIVE and CONTRIBUTE. At least in the start you should strive to interact with characters in every post. You should always be posting something to keep the roleplay moving forward. Comedy is nice and all, but avoid breaking the 4th wall or being a troll. Take it seriously, mostly, and be considerate to the fact that we don't want the roleplay to go dormant. -Follow the simple laws of roleplay. Those are NO GODMODDING and NO MARY-SUES. Both of which are covered in An Enhanced General Guide to Roleplaying -This is a roleplay that is Dark. Avoid too much comedy. Romance is okay, but don't let this take over most of the roleplay. Also, follow the rules regarding NSFW and violence (Funny enough, this is what KILLED the last Age of the Machine roleplay). -These machines are extremely deadly, DON'T BE OVERPOWERED. Your OC should have a couple close calls! It's okay if you aren't the hero for once and you take a hit! It's no fun if there's no danger and suspense. -Be aware of your grammar, and try to use it correctly. Make sure your posts are understandable, and most of all, tolerable. Your posts means nothing if we can't understand it. A few mistakes are okay, of course, but try to avoid it. -This roleplay is for those with decent writing abilities and beyond. This is why you should have descriptive posts, that are interesting, and show quality. - Length post should be decent. You shouldn't have too short of a post, since it's impossible to follow the last rule if it's a single line long. It also shouldn't be overly long. You aren't writing a book, and quite frankly, nobody wants to read your 5000 word post about your OC. Unless it's for something important to the plot, and is necessary, don't post too long of posts. -All roleplays die due to one reason; the inability to post or lack of posting. If you go inactive and stop posting, someone will tell you, and when you're informed, you have to reply. If you don't reply you'll be kicked out of the roleplay, and a conclusion to your OC will be given in order to continue the roleplay. This rule isn't too strict, since people do have lives, but be ACTIVE. -The roleplay's plot and direction is decided by the players, but lead along by the GM. Please do follow the Objectives. You don't have to respond immediately, but if you take too long and DON'T want to follow the objective, inform the GM. This should be a common thing since the Objectives do have a purpose. -What the GM says, goes. He/She created the roleplay, hence, he/she has the final ruling on any affairs. At the slight chance the GM disappears, it is acceptable that the co-GM or a willing player can reboot the roleplay and use this very OOC. Even the GM must follow the Activity rule. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ -Your Character will be accepted by the main GM or any CO-GM'S he/she assigns. They will inform you on this thread if you're accepted. -Your Character can be the following races: Unicorn, Pegasus, Earth Pony, Donkey, Deer, Griffon, Hippogriff, Zebra, and etc. However, Alicorns aren't allowed. Some races can be talked over, but they have to be canon and believable. -In order to join, a test must be conducted. This is a simple test, all it does is assume if you're suited skill-wise to join. You have to write a paragraph as a backstory to what happened to your character leading up to the apocalypse. Since the missiles fell and factories became inactive has been 5 years. Depending on your characters age, if they can remember or were part of the events before the attacks, it should be in this backstory. How they survived up to the current point should be legitimate, while still following the rules (Your character doesn't seem to be a mary-sue or looks overpowered). Here's a example of this versions GM's OC: [THIS CAN BE REMOVED IF THIS ROLEPLAY IS RECYCLED] -Also post a link of your OC's profile page on MLPForum if you have one. Otherwise, please post a picture of your OC or a short description of what they look like. You'd also be required to post personality traits, physical or mental traits, and anything you think other roleplayers should know -Your first post should include what your OC is in procession of, where they are coming from, their health status, and if they are being followed or not. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ Current GM's: Professor Annabella Roleplay Thread: https://mlpforums.com/topic/136531-age-of-the-machine/#entry4048433 [OPEN]
  4. I don't know what you'll think of this... But I'm taking inspiration from how you set up your OOC. I needed to see examples of proper OOC's on this website, since they seem somewhat different from what I experienced on where I use to RP. It's called Age of the Machine... I don't know if it will be posted by the time you come on. Anyhow, I mostly took the idea of chapters and how you run your RP, the story has nothing to do with it. If you're bothered, please tell....

...Please tell you? Well, I'd need to hear more. I'm kinda confused about what you're trying to say, probably because it got cut off.

Heh, sorry. I looked at your OOC only, and took some ideas off of how you set it up. Please tell me if you don't want me doing that. Hard to explain... Here's the roleplay if you want to see what I mean: https://mlpforums.com/topic/136181-age-of-the-machine-post-apocalypticdark/

    3. Arylett Charnoa

      Arylett Charnoa

Yeah, I don't care. A lot of people have done that in the past anyways.

  5. Anyhow, I mostly took the idea of chapters and how you run your RP, the story has nothing to do with it (check if you wish). If you are bother...

  6. I have to read this stupid 'The Alchemist' book. Maybe if it was 'The Fullmetal Alchemist' I'd actually be happy to read it
  7. Well think about it this way; 8 year olds are part of Minecraft, which is a common internet community. All internet communities are tangled together, in the way that on Minecraft you may see someone with a Anime skin, on a forum you may see a Homestuck avatar, or literally everywhere on the internet, you'll hear people talking about ponies. So when a 8 year old says their a brony, they are suggesting they are part of the internet side of it... Atleast I think. Now if they watch it and like it... Then they probably aren't bronies. But if they watch it, like it, AND take part in the internet community (MlpForums, Derpibooru, FiMFiction) then yes, they are bronies. Now that's not the same for... let's say... a 16 year old. If they watch the show and like it, they don't have to be part of the internet community to be a Brony. Does that make sense? Because they aren't in the target age group.
  8. I saw someone wearing a Bronycon shirt at a local Wawa. Was tempted to say something... But we were too public. Couldn't do it.
  9. The problem is the organization of this role play. You have a entire GM committee that is basically useless due to the fact that there isn't that many players. The GM to Player ratio is completely off. The idea of a democracy is nice and all, but this isn't a government, it's a role play. You should have a main GM who goes through with ideas and if anyone opposes you, then you reconsider it. Voting takes forever and just drags the RP down. Also, the schedule idea was good, but you should of made it AFTER you already knew who was in the RP so things were more efficient. Instead of going class to class, some of which don't have a teacher and require improvising with NPC's, you should timeskip classes that don't have a teacher. I know I would hesitate to post because I'd be completely confused. Who would make the NPC? What would the NPC do? Would everybody agree to what the NPC was doing? It's too much effort... Just skip. Lunch is going to have the same problem. People are going to hesitate because they don't know what to do. Who do I sit with? Do I go to my locker first? Is there a lunch line? There has to be a supervisor in charge of the lunchroom, like a class, and it can absolutely be a teacher who already has a class. I'm just giving suggestions, it's your choice if you take them.
  10. Uh, PM me and I'll be glad to talk about starting a RP
  11. "Ah, so you seem to have somebody to take care of too..." Anna said as she patted the robots metal head. She wasn't sure if he felt that, and was happy she wasn't shocked. Anna was not very familiar with technology or engineering... Actually her expertise was the exact opposite of that. Zeus liked Sparky lot now, especially since he knew it was okay to touch him because his momma did. He mimicked his mom and patted the robot, then starting poking him. This amused Zeus, he giggled and cooed as he stood up with his wings popped open.
  12. https://mlpforums.com/topic/135831-best-regards-private/ A private RP between Bronislav and I. This is our OOC.
  13. Dear Lektra, I received the letter from your mentor and friend, concerning your interest on my studies of the enchanting of living and breathing creatures. It is true that Professor White (my own mentor) and myself have conducted many experiments on the matter due to my expertise in biology, cytology, and for our plant subjects; botany. These experiments and the study of such a process were cut short due to matters I'll explain eventually, but for now this letter is a formal invitation to my residence/laboratory in Ponyville. This appointment will be only to pick up the files regarding the case, because I'm sorry to inform you that I can't take part in your studies and continuation of the project. I resigned from my professor status at Canterlot quite some time ago, but I wouldn't mind sharing with you what happened before I left. This project was a large part of my life back when I worked with Professor White. I ask that when you obtain what you need, that you respect my studies by NOT using these methods on anybody other than willing subjects. I'll be the judge of whether you are responsible to have this info, but from what White and your own mentor tell me, you're a very responsible mare. Please be wise. I ask you come between 9am and 6pm, and don't bring anything pertaining to the project. I have materials in my lab if you wish to borrow them. My address is 225 Cavalry Road in West Ponyville. Until then, good luck with your travels and work. Best Regards, Professor Annabella Alexandra Belle OOC: https://mlpforums.com/topic/135832-best-regards-ooc/
  14. Same here... I also hope your a decent role player with a decent OC
  15. Anna walked out the door, then looked at Scalett. Why was she helping her? Was it because she looked pathetic? Was it because it was her job? She mentioned that she was a security guard, but it was weird to Anna that she wouldn't stay put at her post in the lobby. That is, unless she was the only security in the entire building? That'd mean she cover every floor. "I can take it from here... I mean, don't you have a job? Like, you're a security guard, so shouldn't you be in the lobby? It's rude of me to hold you up, I'm sorry but it is" Anna grumbled. She pushed a luggage cart over. It seemed to be on this floor instead of the lobby where it belonged. "Please don't let me, of all ponies, stop you from what your supposed to be doing"
  16. "No, it's a gorilla" Anna said sarcastically, but then she giggled "Just kidding... Yes, this is my son, Zeus" Zeus looked at Lektra while still standing on the lab bench. This made him be on the same eye level with her! That was even more cool to him! He reached his hoof out to boop her nose, but Anna lifted him up and put him on the floor. Bummer. Zeus sat his diapered flank down in defeat. He spread his back legs out, and put his forehooves between them... For whatever reason. He looked up at Lektra, and tilted his little head to the side again. What a weird looking pony... And robot? Anna had other observations about Lektra, like the fact she didn't look anything like a student. That meant she was a teacher, which made Anna a little nervous. What would she think about Zeus being here? Obviously she hasn't seen a baby here before, or she wouldn't be asking about it. Her room was littered with evidence that Zeus was permanent for the school year; such as the wooden playpen and toybox in her desk area. "I'm assuming you're a teacher here?" Anna asked nervously. She offered her hoofshake after putting Zeus on the floor. Might as well keep him off the desk, where he was the most obvious. Either way she was caught and was going to have to explain. "I'm Professor Annabella... But you can just call me Anna. You may have heard of me before...? But it's my first year" Meanwhile, Zeus found Sparky. He looked like a toy of sorts, so he wanted to pick him up and start playing with him. Zeus didn't do so though, because there was something about the way he moved and followed Lektra that made him think he wasn't a toy. The little pegasus was actually sort of scared of him, but also, a little curious as to what he was. So he just stayed... Staring at Sparky.
  17. Anna slowly walks in and sighs again. She wanted to take it from here, she felt as if she had the strength to push her boxes to at least her room... But she was probably being stubborn. It was a personality trait of Anna, that stubbornness, even if it was for the worst. Anna didn't say anything. She had nothing to talk about.
  18. Anna looked at her key "Room 225" She watched as her equipment was lifted in the air with little effort. Typical unicorn, with their levitation they made everything look easy. If she had the same abilities, then she'd have a much easier time writing in her journals. That made her think of her objective... She tilted her head to the side "Is that on the highest floor? It should be, seeing as that's what we wanted..."
  19. Anna didn't reply. She simply walked to the front desk and do what she had to. This reminded her of how much she wasn't going to like this hotel. Even though this pony she met seemed rather nice, it was no doubt she was going to run into a few snobs. Anna grew up in a wealthy house, with a surname that represented a extremely wealthy family, but despite this she hated those who weren't humble. Anna donated most of her money to the University she worked for. When she returned with her key, and room number, she decided to introduce herself. "I'm Annabella... Call me Anna. Thanks for the help I guess... And my attitude was inexcusable. I'm a professional, here on a trip from Canterlot University, and if I ever want to become a professor I can't act like that. So please, accept my formal apology"
  20. Anna let out a deep sigh. Maybe she was being irrational. She was being grumpy and irrational a lot lately, it may be the reason she's on this trip. Either her lab partners thought it'd be a good opportunity to cool off, maybe that or they were sick of her attitude, but in reality it was probably both "I'm sorry..." She said "Maybe you're right" Anna stood up slowly. She looked at the front desk "I have yet to check in... So I'd probably do that first"
