  1. I don't really believe people who enjoy watching this show are necessarily shunned by society. If you wish to speak of it as being taboo among older people, sure, you can consider it to be that. But no one is really going so far out of their way to demonize or hurt people who just wanna watch and enjoy MLP. At least I have not noticed any such activity.

Most people's annoyance when it comes to weird quirks or interests is induced due to obnoxious behavior. But it does not really become more than that, an annoyance.

What they really think about the people who watch the show should not really be a concern, you are just dragging yourself down by giving other people such power over your own enjoyment. People are constantly judged, no matter what. We judge, constantly.

  2. I would have loved having been born in the 790s and being able to go raiding Britain or mainland Europe in the 820s and 830s. But I do like the now better than the past, so much that one can do that does not involve death and destruction. Computer games are a good way for channeling that kind of energy.

I meant that Caucasians don't really have a culture TODAY.

    Couldn't be more wrong.

I remember a year ago at uni in sociology a Pakistani girl stood up and declared that Icelanders don't have a culture. She was laughed and shouted down.

This is a very similar instance right now since you could not be spouting more crap than when she did it. If Caucasians don't have a culture, no one on Earth does.
So let's not go pretending that some cultures don't exist when they obviously do. Your personal grief with white people does not mean that reality suddenly stops becoming reality.

  3. I most certainly do not, but I don't go out of my way to try and do something to invoke "their" wrath, both out of superstition and out of respect. To word it a bit differently, I don't go exploring creepy houses, despite not believing that anything supernatural would happen.

As far as I know, i don't have a notorious accent that makes my voice to stand out from the others.

I don't know about what the other people thinks, but I don't think I got accent.

You definitely 100% have a discernable notorious accent, snrk

Why do people feel the need to oversimplify everything with popular statements like “It’s a social construct”?

    Do you mean something like

Jokes aside: As to the question of the topic, I have demonstrated what could be considered as feminine behavior and masculine behavior. I was probably more masculine as a young kid but I showed some feminine behavior like going around and singing my favorite song of "Girl's just want to have fun" (probably mostly influenced by my older sister).

These days, I think it is more balanced, but I give more way to masculine behavior as it holds more sway with me, but that does not mean I have to appear as some kind of a die-hard football fan (soccer for you Americans). That's not my forte. I do like having a nice quiet time and just sit down, get cozy and watch some movie or even drama shows such as "How to get away with murder" starring Viola Davis.

In the end, it does not really matter that much to me, so the question is not really personal in my eyes.

  6. Quite a few songs actually make me feel better. All of the Sabaton songs envigorate me.

Then there is some of Mystery Skulls music that also makes me feel more determined.

In truth, all music that I particularly enjoy makes me feel better.

But there really is nothing in the whole world that can really beat the old classic of all feel betters ...

Lately, I've been feeling lonely. I see all these people online who are great friends, reminding me of how I have nobody. That's my own fault though, for possibly hurting and pushing away people in school who tried to be my friend, back when I thought I didn't want any. It makes me feel terrible and guilty remembering that I did that.

Was not the best at making friends in school myself.... or rather, maintaining those friendships to be precise. Well, you have a good chance of making some friends here. Just keep one thing in mind: One can not expect to always be in the spotlight.

I’m feeling well... it’s just my heart goes out to several close friends of mine that are in places of harm/discomfort... If I could make a wish tonight is to know that they are safe in loving protection.

Considering the status updates, hope they get out of their bad situation as soon as possible

As for me, I am feeling quite impatient, the days just don't go by quickly enough (soon I will be hypocritically wishing that they went by more slowly, snrk)

I've also felt rather.... observant, if that makes any sense. Joined a new chat group and it has been rather interesting.

I embrace tradition. One can't look forward without understanding the past, and traditions help us to understand the past. In matters of religion, what has been considered normal for thousands of years is only considered extremist now because there's so little understanding of it. Embracing tradition might have helped in that case. Traditions help us see through the eyes of those who have gone before us and the wisdom they've accumulated. To ignore that would be a waste of treasures we can never replace.

The best response in this entire thread as I very much identify in the same way as @Dreambiscuit does.

I treasure and honor tradition and I always seek to further understand it. I respect it. Do I follow every ounce of tradition? Probably not, but I don't directly dishonor it nor do I disrespect or spit on it, even if I may disagree with it.

There are some traditional ways I live by and others I don't, simple as that really.
