Here's the weekly roundup, my crowd.  But first, some tragic news...

 R.I.P. Jeric. 🌹

 As for me personally, not much has happened between me or my family. I recently purchased some bed sheets, so I am waiting for that to roll in. I ma debating what my next big purchase should be since I have a lot on my plate right now. And I am getting ready for a big holiday coming up... 

 Geats 41: Rise & Fall.  This is the episode we've been waiting for. After all his suffering and grieving, he got a twisted idea. Tycoon waited for an opening, preyed on Ace's naive trust, and then tricked the Navigator to giving him power. Though he now rises as Tycoon Bujin Sword, he falls to darkness and loses himself. You hate to see it, but this is what sorrow can do to someone with power. And it wasn't until after the episode ended that I realized how karma had also caught up to Buffa. He use to be the one with power. He was decommissioning Riders, believing that they only suffer because they were Riders. Now he is the one who is suffering, helpless and defeated by a more powerful Rider. The tides have turned, but I think I just found a plothole. If the Navigator could grant Riders powers, why didn't she do that sooner? Maybe Buffa could have saved Sara or something... Is it a forbidden power that she shouldn't tap into very often?

 King-Oh 17: In The Face of Falsehoods...  Finally, the story returns to what we've been familiar with. Racles shows just how far his tyrannical nature will go. We all knew these peace treaty was too good to be true, but we were not ready for this. And can we talk about how much of a manipulator and a master planner Racles is? He has set it up so that his kingdom will be the only place spared and that the war will end if all the other kingdoms just submit to him, so when the cameras capture him taking part in Blue's potential killing, the citizens will still believe he is doing the right thing rather than see him for the monster that he is. But enough about that. Red has been held back for far too long. Any plans for him have pretty much fallen apart. It's time he took his rightful place on the battlefield once more.

 Geats Extra 02: Ninjas Unite!  (I'll talk about the first Geats Extra when and if it gets subbed.) Confused by the opening? Don't be; this special is not a continuation of a previous special. They purposely framed this as if Shinobi had his own long-running TV show. This special is fast paced and a little all over the place, not to mention it's a straight-up comedy. Still, while it's not what I expected, it was great to see all the Ninja Riders in one place. One might think this was a waste of Kenzan, Fuuma, and even ZX's original actor. However, they all teamed up while ZX's theme played, so it's all good. I am not really sure how much more we'll see of Shinobi, considering the meta way this special ended. Very fitting for a Rider born from the Zi-O series. Still, it was good to see them doing more with this Rider rather than make him a one-off.

I never know if I fully believe in fate or not; but there are times when coincidences are just too good to be true. We've lost a friend, and after learning so, I found the uncut music of a musician who is also no longer with us. Had no idea that he had released this in some form or another, so I'll have to track down my own copy of it. Somehow, I managed to make it through without getting fooled once. 

Also, I had a really good day! I finally got an oscillating fan for my room, which I was putting off because cold weather. But now that things are warming up, it's great to have one. 

Thridly, I had Philly Cheesesteaks twice this week!  The first time, I was returning to a restaurant I had wanted to go back to. And then most recently, I went to a local Italian restaurant that has it on their menu. I tried to order from them before, but they were out. Good thing I gave them a second chance, because that was delicious! 

Last of all, I got to drink a fancy boba tea drink from a Vietnamese place. It was delicious and well priced too.

Yep. A day late again. I can explain, though.  Hang in there, my crowd.

 Basically things have slowed down enough that I have begun working on the model kit I got for Christmas. Which is why this update was late; the model kit has been taking up my free-time. It's finally warm enough that paints and glues will dry faster.  Though to be honest, there have been set backs. I don't have all the paints and chemicals I do have. I figured out some ways to speed the process along, but it feels like one-step forward and two-steps back. If I had figured out that I'd need more supplies, my Saturday would have gone differently...

 Speaking of Saturday, I had a really good day!  I did some shopping and got myself a new pair of work shoes. I ate at one of my favorite places. Came home to find Celestia was following me! There were also some strange things that happened, but I wasn't going to let any of that ruin the good day I had.

 I'm on pins and needles because of all the rumors coming out of CinemaCon, which I didn't even know was a thing! There are trailers that I wish would come out all ready. Until then, I saw the trailers for the new Super Monkey Ball game and the sequel to the Joker movie. The later is the one I'm actually excited about. 

 So after much thinking about it, I've decided... I'm going to watch at least 2 more episodes of BoonBoomger, give or take. I want to see the premiere of the 5th BoonBoomger member. Maybe get a sense of what this show will be like with its full cast at the very least. After that, I'll put BoonBoomger down and step away from Super Sentai for a while. I'll finish up Gotchard since it's almost done, and then step away from that. I might catch some tokusatsu movies I haven't seen yet, but only until I'm caught up on everything. I won't pick it back up until some personal things change in my life. But for now...!

 BoonBoom 06: BoonBonding!  He can blame it on the monster as much as he wants, but seeing BoonBlue going from disbelieving to male bonding was so awesome! Just like Pink, I was loving this turn around! And BoonRed just made a personal rivalry with the new commander! Where will this go, I wonder.

 Gotchard 30: Losing Romeo.  Well color me surprised when we got a DonBrothers Comedy Duo cameo! Probably the best thing about this episode. They made Gotchard look momentarily week so Rinne/Majade could have her character arc, and they took away Kaiji's love interest to make her Gotchard's love interest. Please don't do this... Can't the supporting character have a love interest? Does the main character ALWAYS have to attract all the female characters?

Like I've said before, sometimes YouTube manages to recommend me something interesting. I'm not a country music fan in any stretch of the imagination. However, combining death metal and bluegrass? Color me interested. I know that this is just an arrangement made digitally, probably using MIDI files as a base or something, but am I the only one that thinks this has an oddly oriental sound to it? Would love to hear this done with real instruments. This is, "Deathgrass Symphony" by Appalachian Anarchy.

I may need a vacation after all...  Let's talk about it, my crowd.

 My weekend was pretty full. There was shopping, gift wrapping, spending time with the family, paying bills, and so many other things. Barely had time to fit in some of the fun things I wanted to do as well. Worst part is, I'm STILL not done. There's at least one other person I need to buy a Christmas gift for...  I've never cut it this close to Christmas before, but I may not have a choice. I may need to... ugh... Go shopping one last time this weekend. Wish me luck, everyone. It's going to be SOOOOO crowded~! I would love to just buy something online, but at this point, overnight shipping would be my best bet. I'm not sure I want to spend that much.

 But as I said, I got to have some fun. There's been more clips of Sonic Prime and the Mario movie posted online. We are getting SO CLOSE to the premiere of Sonic Prime~!! But I may hold off 'til after Christmas. Furthermore, the Sonic Frontiers soundtrack dropped. You know I'll be getting my own copy of that! Last of all, the gifts I ordered online at the beginning of December came in. So there's a lot less I need to worry about.

 NO KAMEN RIDER BLACK SUN THIS WEEK!  Ran out of time. But make no mistake, I will finish this soon!

 DonBrothers 39: Nothing Shines Here.  The episode is a hard pass. It's pure filler. Even the Killer robot in this episode fails to accomplish anything. It's happy to settle for temporarily injuring our heroes rather than going for the fatal blow. Furthermore, it seems weird that they chose NOW to decide that transforming can cure injuries. Hope they don't go further and say it can cure death too. About the only thing this episode accomplished was reminding us that the prisoner character and Zenkaiser Black still exist. Also, the MOTW is based on JAKQ.

 Geats 13: A Two-Way Flight.  As cool as it is, I am saving any gushing I have over this new buckle set for the next episode, when we should see it in full swing. It seems there is a higher authority over the Game Master, and he will step in if his subordinates are getting out of place. I can tell Geats is trying to make a connection with Buffa. I hope his and Tycoon's words of wisdom actually get through to him in the next episode, because they are clearly building up the arrival of another Rider...

 MOVIE TIME!  Recently, I watched A Christmas Carol (2012) by Jason Figgis. Never have I seen a movie that made me wish for a movie to take its production back to the theater, its roots, and yet here we are. This movie commits every sin that make people shy away from practical effects. Bad acting, bad casting, bad costume design, bad framing, using paintings for filler shots, etc. I cringe when I see them try and fail to make modern buildings and décor look like Victorian England homes, especially when all the sets might very well be in one person's house. I hate seeing the narrator say lines of dialogue that the actors aren't good enough to deliver. Even the rare hints of CGI and special effects they use do not make it better. If this was a production made by some YouTubers, it might be genius. As is, it's a disappointment. They even had a very meta opening with someone pitching the story to an early investor, but that didn't go anywhere. But there were some good points. I feel like there were more introspective moments with Scrooge, giving him a chance to really examine all his beliefs and his impact on this world, thus making his reformation not just a selfish or fear-based one. I do think they thrown in way more lines from the novel. I don't know for sure, but it feels that way. I can't recommend this for anyone, but they tried. Bless them, they tried.

 DOUBLE FEATURE!  I also saw Netflix's Scrooge (2022). It's... better? But not by much. When I heard that Netflix was doing a CGI animated movie based on A Christmas Carol, I HAD to see it! Didn't care that it was a musical, the timing just could not be more perfect. However, the moment I began to play it, I saw Scrooge with a dog he never had before, and I knew we were in for some creative changes. Sadly, these changes amounted to a very mixed bag. Some were good, some existed to lessen the Christian influences or the darker subjects (which were never a problem before), and some were terrible or pointless changes. Even certain moments in the story that should have been gut-wrenching were half-baked at best. Perhaps the really sad thing is the potential that was here. The visuals were AMAZING! And some of the songs really were soulful and from the heart; perfectly fitting for the characters. But the watered-down story just doesn't justify these few good elements. You know how some parts of A Christmas Carol get lost when turning it into a movie or a special? It feels like someone put those adaptations through an AI without including the book itself, and then made this version of A Christmas Carol, minus the hilarious side-effects that prove it was automatically generated. I am not against creative changes, but only if these changes are justified. I can't say they are fully justified here. After seeing them make something special with their 2019 Klaus movie, I really expected more out of Netflix.

When Archie lost the legal rights to continue making Sonic comics, believe it or not, I was actually sad. They had just started a new line, staring Sonic and friends in their Classic incarnation. Best of all, it was based only on material from the games. It was easily THE BEST Sonic comic line ever, and then it died before it had a chance to do anything. I am glad to see that even with IDW taking over, that line of comics doesn't have to come to an end. This is, perhaps, the best way for it to come back. I want to get this comic. The correct answer is A. She spins around and falls off her cloud. The twist is that, during Rainbow Dash's flashback, young Dash and young Hoops never exchanged any smack talk before the race. That exchanged only happened earlier during Fluttershy's flashback. However, it is weird that they both remembered the same thing, yet that detail was left out in Dash's version.  If they weren't going to remember things to the exact same detail, then shouldn't it have been the other way, at least? I doubt Dash would forget an epic one-liner like that. Oh well.
