  1. My parents wanted to check my SAT scores maybe a year or so back. Unfortunately, they were sent to my email, and my email was glitching and freezing a bit. Lo and behold, my entire inbox was EQD. I basically sat there for 30ish seconds in horror. Later, my mom wanted to use my computer for some reason or other. I had learned my lesson from the email thing, but of course mlpforums was my top site on firefox. I'm basically certain my family knows about my like of mlp, but no one says anything.
  2. Just start, even if it's awful. No one's first video is great, and the only way to make great videos is practice. :3

  6. I think that to define the "best" pony, one must first have a definition of "best." Since issues rarely stoop to one to one correlations, we can determine best on a variety of factors. While this does not cover the relative importance of each factor (one may be slightly or significantly more important than another), I would assert that determining relative importance is impossible in this particular instance. While it is possible to analyze present and past importance of factors, the value of a factor over large amounts of time is unknowable to today's humanity. So then, "best" will be defined as carrying a greater overall value of the following traits: social recognition, positive inspiration, personal relateability, and uniqueness. A character could potentially place 2nd in each category, thereby holding a greater overall value than a pony who placed 1st in one category, but performed poorly in all of the others. To remedy this logical hole, a 2nd place category will be added to each factor we analyze. A 3rd place category seems excessive given that a character who placed 3rd in every category would nearly never be of greater overall value than another character who placed 1st in a single category because they wouldn't be recognizably valuable. Think of this like an athletics event; no one cares about the athlete who's decent at a lot of sports when there's an athlete who's incredible at just one sport. Recognizable value is different from social recognition in that one is about the character being "good" or not, while that other is merely whether the character can be identified with the mlp brand by most people. Additionally, only the mane six will be analyzed, since a character must be present in most media for them to achieve a full influence. Now then, Pinkie Pie would win in terms of social recognition, with Rainbow Dash in 2nd. I argue this by the packaging of most mlp toys, which feature either of these ponies. Pinkie Pie wins in this case because a pinkie fluffy pony is stereotypical of mlp, and therefore the character more people are likely to identify with mlp. A toy can not be positively influential, because a toy becomes a vehicle of a child's imagination: the toy is good if the child believes it is good. Therefore, the mlp television show shall be used in the grading of this factor. Twilight sparkle is present in every single episode, and in the majority of episodes learns a moral lesson of significance. This easily places her in 1st for positive inspiration. In 2nd, we would have Rainbow Dash since she presents a much needed ambitious role model for girls. While it could be argued that Rarity does something similar being ambitious and self employed, there are already many such traditional characters with a twist such as Rapunzel from Tangled. (She still marries the prince at the end, but is infectiously positive and unique with wit of her own rather than being merely pretty.) In terms of personal relateability, not many people live on a farm, or perform in front of massive crowds, or are nearly constantly positive and bouncy. This leaves Rarity, Twilight Sparkle, and Fluttershy as the only possible ponies who could win this factor. Twilight Sparkle would have to place in 1st, since being mentored by Princess Celestia is analogous to school or parents, thus making her the most relateable character to the target audience. If a person lies outside the target audience, I don't consider it a far stretch of the imagination to say that they've probably been to school and had parents. Rarity would have to win 2nd in this respect, since struggling to achieve one's dream (in Rarity's case, being recognized by high fashion) is something nearly everyone can relate to, while struggling with shyness is not an something that quite so many people deal with. As for uniqueness, Fluttershy would place 1st, being the only character not of a recognizable "social group." She's neither cowgirl, nor jock, nor popular, nor nerd, nor fashionista. While it could be argued that she represents an "environmentalist group" having seen Equestria Girls, this is not especially noticeable in how she acts. Most pro eco people are rather loud and direct about their beliefs, which Fluttershy strongly contrasts. Rainbow Dash would place 2nd being not only strongly against current stereotypes of girls, but also of unique design. No other character has a mane like hers, and no other character can perform a sonic rainboom. Given that Twilight Sparkle placed 1st in 2 of the 4 factors, it's safe to assume she is best pony Now then ... who is best cmc?

  20. If something is truly your life purpose, you can spend virtually all your time in pursuit of it, because if it does not emotionally and ethically resonate with you, if you do not truly care for it, it is impossible to fully invest oneself in a cause, and hence, not the cause which is the greatest use of one's time. I find it curious that so many people make major life choices before answering this underlying question ... so what's your answer?
  21. potato/e^2 A potato is the answer to all of life's mysteries!
