  1. As I have mentioned in my post, there is a lot of plot holes that the writers have to fill for this theory to work. The villains that the mane 6 had stopped are only one of the many. At most, NMM ruled until Discord came back and he took over the rule from NMM and with the disharmony, Sombra came back and enslaved the Crystal Empire. Queen Chrysalis's plot would not have happened and instead, without much love due to all of the fear and disharmony and turned tailed and went elsewhere to feed her changelings. As for our latest villain, Tirek, he would not have been able to sway Discord using the same method but I can bet the idea of total domination sounds really appealing so he might take over after betraying Discord and rule equestria from that point on. As you can see, not something the show can effectively cover but if they do, it would be either the first three part or even four part finale. Also Celestia falling into despair from failing to defeat NMM and the other villains, I agree that it is possible but it does not fit Solar Flare's motive "The Day Will Last Forever." NMM has that motive is due to the fact that she felt shunned by ponies who loved the day. If NMM had won, the night would last forever and I doubt that Celestia became Solar Flare unless NMM had the intent to make her former sister fall into the nightmare. If NMM ruled, Celestia might have stayed sane and her motive would be just bring back balance. My idea for Solar Flare makes some sense as it would fit her motive due to her insecurity of the fear of being disregarded. Why is there a Summer Sun Celebration and no other Moon Celebration (granted it is just not canon yet but ponies celebrate the former more). Since Nightmare preys on strong negativity, it could have been that based on Nightmare Rarity. I know that there are some theory or fan fictions that wanted the Solar vs Lunar war. For the Season 5 ending, I doubt that we will get to see it actually takes place, like many others had said, 1000 years ago vs less than 100 years ago. To fit in the two part episode finale, I don't think they can fit all of it in either.
  2. Taken from a previous post to some pony but I did not send it as it was out of context, we were discussing the possibility of Solar Flare (Celestia's version of Nightmare Moon) being the finale face off: I have not been to comic con but I have seen the animatic too. A time travel device is not far fetched in equestria and I agree with you that Starlight Glimmer (with all of her stalking) have learned of Twilight's past and went back to stop the one key event that caused her to be the princess of friendship and meeting her friends. Without the sonic rainboom, presumably Rainbow lost the race somehow and gave up her passion for racing and maybe, never got her mark or alternatively, the race to defend Fluttershy's honor did not happen and Dash never got to realize her passion. Going with the latter, Fluttershy may not have landed on the ground and may have moved to ponyville to live quietly on her own but never discovering her connection with animals. Without the rainboom, Pinkie would not have became a party pony and would have still lived on the rock farm with her family, maybe becoming more like Maud pie (personally, I love this idea as it would be fun to see the Pinkie and Maud act the same). Applejack felt homesick regardless but never understood the feeling so she stayed with her aunt and uncle in Manehattan. Given from what we know about Manehattan, it is safe to assume that applejack became more of a city pony than country and her mannerism will be very different, as well as her ethics. As for Rarity, she was literally dragged to the rock filled with gems but it never broke and so Rarity must have been left without her muse and her designer style of using gemstones. She might give up on her fashion and become like her parents. As for Twilight, she gave up at the entrance exam and never caught the eye of Princess Celestia. So who would have taken that honor of being Celestia's prized student? I am not sure, maybe Sunset? or Starlight? The nightmare Celestia is an interesting idea but I am not sure if we will see it at the end of season 5 as the card said "The day will last forever". It is the same as nightmare moon's ideology. Since Starlight is changing the Rainboom event, I am not sure if the ripple of time and space is enough to cause this to happen but it is a possibility. For the finale, going off what would have happened if the rainboom never occured. I am not sure of Starlight's motive. Messing up the past of Twilight and the elements of harmony. Nightmare Moon is the first villain that I think of that would have ruled equestria and silenced Celestia without the elements to stop her. Then there is Discord, Sombra... so I guess that the writers have a balance factor so that they do not have to write such a complex tale. Maybe another set of the elements of harmony that differs from the mane 6? Taking the idea from earlier, the unicorn that became Celestia student, became the new element of harmony's magic with a new set of 5 (as our current 5 is sort of unable to come to terms with their lives). They were the ones who saved equestria in the alternate world. Twilight... I am not sure how she would be as she is the main character, her memories will be intact. As for Starlight's motive, she wanted to give ponies true friendship. I personally believe that she believes fully that equality represents friendship. This idea is more of a feeling that one would get after spending a long time being average or having seen how skills had divided others apart. I am not sure how does the new mane 6 would fare but I guess that they did not go through the more impacting stories. So Starlight would still have her village and slowly, she is gathering ponies into her cult. That might be her motive, to get back what she believed was real friendship. It might be possible that Twilight and the rest are blank flanks or the mane 5 are and how they are not happy despite being equal. And also Spike would not be born in this timeline or he would have new mare to follow. Or Twilight and the mane 6 got their cutie marks in some way but they misinterpreted their marks that it made them feel what Starlight felt. The animatic tells something about cutie mark magic and how Starlight was just sitting in the friendship castle. I still remember her line when her village was ruined: "Let's see how they like spending the rest of their days without their precious marks." This is her revenge probably. On the topic of cutie mark magic, doesn't anyone remember Magical Mystery Cure? The spell that Twilight fixed that was originally Starswirl's unfinished masterpiece? What did the spell say again? From all of us together, Together we are friends With the marks of our destinies made one There is magic without end There is a high chance of this being something that might fix the mess that Starlight made. In season 5, we are starting to see more of background ponies being used to help the mane 6 and seeing more of foils for each of them. Also note the 3rd line: with the marks of our destinies made one, doesn't that seem like something like equality? What do you think?
  3. May I direct your attention to Season 4's premiere: Princess Twilight Sparkle? That is one episode with somethings that can be taken out of context and kids would not notice it that much. Pop culture references are everywhere and also there are some adult references for the older audience.
  4. Cooking is fine with me but I would most probably eat out more as I find it a little hard to decide what to prepare and researching carefully on how to make it. I can handle frozen food and also pre-made sauces but when making something completely from raw ingredients and I think I would be struggling.
  5. Sorry about my earlier post, I failed to read your topic properly. About Nightmare Celestia, I think the theory is a bit far-fetched seeing as Starlight only wants revenge on Twilight and if the story goes to Nightmare Celestia, the writers have a lot of plot holes to fill. The only way I see Nightmare Celestia appearing is if it is in another universe where Celestia was the one who had gotten too much pride due to all the praise and admiration and had decided that she does not want the day to end or ponies would not care about her. Falling to her own insecurities, she becomes Nightmare Celestia and Luna was the one who stayed sane and fought her with the elements and won. Then that is when the role reversal happened. The time traveling device, like you said, was used to mess up the sonic rainboom so that the mane 6 will not get their marks. So I am sorry to say that Nightmare Celestia ark may have better place in the comics or alternate universe.
  6. I guess the lack of solo episodes with the mane 6 might be due to how much they had grown through season 1 to 4 and they need new foils to play off of or it would get boring with the same things. I honestly loved season 5 so far and the topics they have covered with the right choice of characters to face the dilemmas. I don't find the lack of solo focused episodes too jarring as even in episodes that feature all or some of the mane 6, the main focus of the episodes is still on one or two of them so it feel similar in a way. With "Slice of Life", I wouldn't be surprised if the mane 6 have to interact outside of their tight group and mix with the background ponies. With the cutie map, there is a reason to split the mane 6 and add new foils to play off of them. They have grown so much that they are at the stage where they are the ones learning a lesson while also teaching it.

  11. I am not an experienced brony by any definition but these comments seems to be from the vocal and defensive ones who are intent on starting a fight or seemingly returning some hurtful comments that they may have heard from bronies who went overboard and forcing others to like what they like. The first one: to cure the internet of cancer. I have seen articles about the MLP fandom and how it is like a cancer of the internet but not in a parasitic way, more of the way it had spread around so rapidly. The word of choice: cancer was clearly used in bad context. We are not doing anything wrong to anybody or any pony. We just like what we see and we are willing to express it. The second one: to stop rabid bronies like you. This one ties to my suggestion about perspectives. Even in the MLP fandom, there are those who went overboard and were forcibly imposing MLP into everything. The keyword of choice is rabid and this is suggesting we are crazy or sick. This can be also a link to how they have the mentality of the show is for little girls only. The third one: To keep the internet safe from people like you. This is one seems to think the MLP fandom is a dangerous cult that indoctrinate people to spread a single message under a hivemind. These one might be a bit of a stretch but still a point to be made. The fourth: Go **** a horse. This is linking to people not taking it kindly to how people view the ponies in an erotic fashion. These people would also be against the furry community. This is a strong idea stance that people can only be attracted or be pleasured from other humans. I am not going into more details here. The fifth: To kill all bronies. I think I have covered enough points to say that this person just like the idea of being the "hero" killing all of the "minions" and eventually taking out the "hivemind". This is all just my speculation. As for the main question, what are they trying to get at? It can be as simple as raising a point in hypocrisy or irony. Or with pure intent or disillusion of what the MLP fandom stands for and they are seeking to put an end to it. Or it also can be as crude as "I said so and so it is law". I have to admit, as a fandom grow, their anti counterpart also grows as well. I am not sure if it is the thrill of being the one to put an end to a strong fandom or just the trolling and contradiction.
  12. Thanks for reading my feedback. I just would like to add a note to my earlier post. As you study proportion, you will find that people generally have a different take on the subject and that is what I would call an art style. Art style is subjective so people may like or dislike it, just remember it should appeal to you as that is what matters more if you find yourself overwhelmed with contradicting feedback.
  13. I see that the CMC disbanding being part of their child like behavior as that is what they are. And it is also seen in "Flight to the Finish", that they will fight at times and also going as far as to break the group up. I think a good way to play this theme is memories, which is what I hope the writers are doing: a build up to a good tension filled episode and with good continuity call backs and memories for both the CMC and the fandom. I was a little disappointed at how Babs Seed was just horse-shoed into the plot in "Bad Seed" and then just gone after one or two interaction with the CMC as a group. By the way, I have strong opposing views to "Bad Seed" as how the writers poorly treated the subject of bullying. I can also see another alternative, maybe the CMC starts to drift apart from their group and that could be a good lesson in its own end about how friends will keep their interests in mind and that could also be a stepping stone for getting their marks.

  15. I like what you have done. I can see the story and also getting me to think about it. I can say that you have a knack of presenting moments to a story and playing with the use of colors and shades. If you are looking to improve, I can recommend the study of proportion and the body shapes and muscles for a start. You are really good with your color choices and your art carries the story for itself. Keep it up
  16. I think this song that I am going to suggest is not a typical "pump you up". It is more of a sentimental piece that I like. From the era of C-pop, enjoy
  17. That is certainly a good possibility. But if it is a copy and paste element of unity, it seems lazy from the writers. That is how I would feel about Though, in some way, I do feel that the mane 6's cutie marks are reversed engineered and they have to come up with an acceptable reason for each one. I am thinking about this from the writer's point of view and I think there is a value in setting up the CMC to get their marks at the same time and they have to miss out seeing each other getting their marks. What do you think about this angle as a response to a possible link like the sonic rainboom of the mane 6, like you said.
  18. To be honest, I think my element of Harmony would be Empathy. And my element of disharmony is Fear.

  20. (Please note: the following points raised are from my perspective and not official in any way. Feel free to add your own and discuss.) From the title, it may seems odd as they are ones who needed to learn the lessons to get their cutie marks. What I am going to discuss is about the kind of lessons that we can expect from the show when they do eventually get their marks. The writers seems to be finding the best way to push the CMC toward their marks and it seems like that they are getting closer. However, there is a mix feeling about them getting their cutie mark and not getting it. I support what the writers are doing right now with the CMC as it would still keep them in the show despite eventually getting their marks. They tackled these issues lightly with "Bloom and Gloom" but I feel that they are either setting up something here or they are doing it early so that they can keep avoiding going into the eventually end. The issues arising from the cutie marks and what would happen to them was a good setup for conflict. I feel that the writers did a fantastic job of framing the problem through the CMC's individual worries about the future, they also made a subtle link to how we sometimes worry about the uncertainty of the future. In a typical format of a story, this is what I would call a build up to a climax. The climax would be the unavoidable conflict between the CMC when their friendship is tested due to their talents. They became friends under the same umbrella of being blank flanks. I mean, look at Twist. It would be interesting to see this as an episode in the show to see, given the tension that the build up is going for. Next, I am thinking about who would get their marks. Thanks to "Show Stoppers", we all know what they are good at already so there is a loss of the unexpected and guessing fodder. "Bloom and Gloom" gets more right but I am not going in that. Twilight has been doing well in guiding the CMC in the right direction: Apple Bloom is getting to learn more of what I would interpret as the subtly behind alchemy and getting her to calm down and be patient so that she may soon see the way to her mark, Sweetie Belle is learning magic for unicorns and this is what I would call the discipline and confidence that she needs to eventually get her own mark, Scootaloo is learning basic mechanics and this is what I would say is the most obvious of the CMC and what Twilight was going for was that she would soon see her love for her scooter and lead her to her marks. From pure speculation, I think Scootaloo might be the first CMC to get her mark. She had one key episode in "Flight to the Finish" and her mark seems to be the most obvious comparative to her other two friends. According to the brony analysis community, they raised a point that I like to add: Scootaloo's main issue is that she has to face limitation both physical and emotional. Limitation can also spark adaptability to play with their limitation and overcome what seems like a hurdle. So who do you think might get their marks first or do you think it is possible for all 3 to get their marks at the same time? Do you think we will see this develop eventually or will the writers try and avoid this for as long as they can?

  24. Hehe, thanks for all of the welcome messages everypony. Hello, CosmicSpark Thanks for your welcome message, I really enjoyed it. Especially that scene, and also... *ahem* BALD! BALD! BLAD! I am rather new to forums so I may need help with the features like private message and also a few other stuff that I think I could learn by experience I am glad you were with me as those who had experience generation one as our introduction to the series. I admit I was really questioning my choice of entertainment already in generation one and generation two merely confirmed it. I guess just needed a place where I don't have to hide it online. I would like to talk more if we find something interesting to discuss.
  25. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Pinkie Pie How did you find MLP Forums?: I was looking about for a good forum to begin getting started in the fandom. I am rather new to the idea of joining a forum and I have heard my friends who had their share of experiences in badly managed forum and bad members. I poked around using Google and I was looking for a friendly network to help me get comfortable. So here I am. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: (Warning: Long story ahead, have a muffin)My childhood was not something that I would say I was proud of or have many happy memories that I can call back. One of the exceptions was My Little Pony. I can still remember my first episode from generation 1. It is right to say that I was hooked and from then, I watched episode after episode on TV. The episodes were not really mind blowing but I remember that the pony design was the main reason why I kept liking the series. As time went on, generation 2 and 3 came out. I have to say that it really caused me to waver in my opinion. The time of generation 2 and 3 was the time where shows that were marketed to girls dominated the TV world and I honestly lost interest and I gave up after generation 3, I gave it a chance and I regretted it.I abandoned TV after I grew up and I watched most of my entertainment online. Soon, I saw the new generation 4 of My Little Pony. My first thought was that how the design had a mix of generation 1 and 3 elements. There is a good sense nostalgia for me when I saw it but I worried about the focus on the series due to how badly handled it was back in generation 2 and 3. I found a time to watch it alone and I was blown away.I mean comparing to generation 1 since I regarded it as the time where My Little Pony was still decent, I feel in love with it once again. But it still had that element that I feel that was derived from generation 3 so I still have some concerns regarding revealing that I like the show openly. So since my first taste, I had followed the series and have been a silent fan until my enjoyment grew so much and I soon took myself to a forum to join the fandom. My name is Melke and I am (derpy was here) years old. I am a writer, designer and artist. I am currently studying in a course in Visual Communication design. I am mostly quiet and reserved. I am a contemporary thinker and I can get philosophical at times due my habit of excessively thinking things in my free time. I adore operas, classical music and arias; the music I like are mostly melodic (that means dubstep is a no-go for me). I can come off as a grump or simply someone who is really hard to get to show expression to things or hard to please. Please don't take this too personally but working in the creative industry does drain your acceptance to things that may not be of quality In party situations, I tend to hide in corners or find some ridiculous way to get away from crowds. My favorite form of entertainment is mostly escapism. I like Pinkie Pie most out of all of the Mane 6 as she firstly, gives me that healthy laughter vitamin that I could always do with. On a character level, Pinkie and I are quite the polar opposites: I enjoy the serene and quiet while Pinkie likes the loud and busy crowd but we do share something in common. We only wish to make our friends happy, even if it comes at our expense. I do not tend to have a large circle of close friends as I feel uncomfortable. That's pretty much all you need to know about me, I hope that we will get along. Also, you all deserve a muffin for having to endure my long wordy intro.
